Insights into Brainwave Research
The rapid-fire translation left Kingo dumbfounded. He pointed to Kitty, whose back was turned to him, wanting to leave the tent but hesitant to go out, and asked, "Is this little one complaining?"
Henry said awkwardly, "Actually, Tiger Language doesn't have that many words, and Tiger ' thoughts are simpler than humans'. That's definitely what it meant."
"However, the translated version was delivered in a rather noisy tone. Although I did set a polite version, I couldn't adjust the translator's settings while I was away from home."
"So I'll give it a try. I never intended to adjust the translator to a mode that normal people could hear."
"Pfft, hahaha." Kingo laughed heartily. Then he asked, "Why didn't you think of keeping this Tiger Translator you made in its current state?"
"Because it consumes more power. The sound was originally very faint, just enough for me to hear. Now it has to be amplified to a volume that ordinary people can hear, which has increased the power consumption several times over."
Henry called Kitty over again and turned off the translator's normal voice input. In its original mode, the two earpieces could last for about seven days without being charged; if human voice input was enabled, it would only last for four hours.
Not wanting to keep searching for a place to charge his device, and not wanting to explain to ordinary people why Tiger can talk, Henry decided to restore Kitty to her normal Tiger form, instead of a noisy, complaining little brother.
Henry chose to translate Kitty's thoughts in this tone because Henry felt that Tiger should have the imposing presence of the king of the jungle. Speaking like a polite gentleman would be too strange.
He used to speak with a black accent, which sounded like rap in the translation. But that way of speaking was so irritating that even Henry himself couldn't stand it, so he changed it. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been long before Henry had tiger bones and tiger penises to make medicinal wine...
Kingo was quite interested in the device, but he didn't necessarily think it was some kind of pre-recorded sound. The person in front of him wasn't trying to scam him out of investment with such a product.
Considering this young man's actions in Hollywood over the past year, it seems he's been using new technologies to challenge traditional techniques in the film industry.
Without such achievements, how could he have earned the respect of that legendary genius rich young master, who would have been willing to entrust one of his businesses to him?
In response, Kingo asked curiously, "How did you come up with these ideas? Can you tell me about them?"
"Are you interested in knowing?" Henry asked skeptically.
Kingo replied, "Of course, why not? You know, once you've lived long enough, it's incredibly rare to encounter something new that you've never seen or heard of before."
"Your digital imaging technology should be further explored based on existing foundations. The gap between you and those people at Sony is that you are much faster than their labs in creating practical, usable products."
"But I can't quite imagine how you came up with this kind of translator. So tell me about it."
Henry thought for a moment and asked, "Do you know Professor X from X-Men?"
"That famous Mutants organization, I know it."
"It all started when I first met Professor X." Henry briefly recounted the conflict at the time, how Professor X invaded his consciousness, and how this led to his need for research in this area.
Initially, the only idea was to create a protective helmet similar to Magneto's to resist the mind-invasion abilities of Mutants.
After raising Tiger, I had more ideas about brainwaves. With the help of sensing devices and data analysis, it took me more than a year to conduct research and achieve the results we have today.
After listening, Kingo said in surprise, "So, although the whole thing started with Mutants, you managed to get to where you are today with just a Tiger? Without the help of other Mutants?"
"How am I supposed to get their help? Hey, Professor X, I need to make a helmet to prevent your Mind Stone from getting in, please cooperate with my research. Who would be willing to cooperate in making something that can control themselves?"
"Really? So, what are your thoughts and insights regarding Mind Stone now?"
Although he didn't understand the meaning of the question, it sounded like it was still within the realm of communication, not an attempt to pry into the other person's secrets, so Henry spoke frankly:
"Actually, I should have no problem making a Psychic Defense Helmet right now. It's just that once it's made, it might be inconvenient to find someone with that kind of ability to do the experiments."
"Moreover, I can't say that I deliberately sought them out. If the experiment fails, I might turn my back on them and expel them from my consciousness."
"But putting aside protective measures, regarding the topic of brainwaves, I can now read them. However, at this stage, I can only understand the thoughts of Tiger."
"For other animals, including humans, a large amount of data accumulation is needed before we can make judgments. Interference can only achieve limited results."
"For example, I can translate human conversations into a brainwave language that Tiger can understand and then communicate it to them. This is somewhat like a universal language, but it's still a long way from the point where I've seen the Kree's Universal Translator."
"What If...? we want to do more, such as using Mind Stone abilities to influence reality, erase or alter memories, or shut down consciousness, etc."
"I don't have that need, so I haven't thought about how to use technology to achieve that capability."
As Henry recounted his story, Kingo abandoned his nonchalant attitude and listened attentively, tapping his fingers lightly on the table as if deep in thought.
He then asked, "You said you can only read the brainwaves of Tiger at this stage, so what about other creatures? How long will it take to conduct research on them?"
Henry chuckled and said, "Well, let me put it this way. The longest part of my research on Kitty was spent developing my research methods and determining the research direction."
"Once this methodology is structured, for other organisms, I only need to accumulate data that can be used for comparison. The time I will spend will depend on the level of detail I want to achieve."
"What If...? I were to translate an unknown language word for word, or the thoughts of an animal, it would take much longer. What If...? I were just sensing emotions, it would be effortless."
Kingo then asked earnestly, "What If...? you wanted to influence someone's consciousness, is there a way to do that?"
"Uh, I don't do illegal things. Oh, okay, the influence of Mind Stone abilities isn't really written into the laws of most countries yet. But it's still Moral problematic, isn't that a bit much?"
As Henry answered reluctantly, he also wondered why Kingo was so concerned about this matter.
Could it be that they're considering a solution for Thena of the Eternals ' Mahd Wy'ry (Mahd_Wy'ry)? Is her condition similar to the one in the movie, where she occasionally falls into a berserk state caused by lingering, erroneous memories of the past?
