The Imminent Trouble

JJ Harris's intelligence was important; it at least gave Henry a more direct understanding of the Vampires' power in United States, or rather, in Hollywood.

In the circles of Old Bai men or Old Money, Vampires haven't achieved complete dominance yet. That's good news. If even that circle falls, Henry might start to doubt whether the occupants of the White House are ordinary people.

When things really got to the point where all the masterminds behind the scenes were Vampires, Henry decided to find a secluded spot to hide away and stop causing trouble.

Fortunately, things didn't escalate to that point. Compared to the prevalence and flamboyance of Mutants, Vampires are so low-key that their presence is barely noticeable.

So in society, people aren't exactly used to seeing Mutants, but they're not surprised either. However, the mention of Vampires still elicits surprise from everyone.

With this new understanding, Henry said to JJ Harris, "Since that group can't completely control Hollywood's resources, let's try to focus our efforts in directions they can't control. I'll help too."

"Although we have fewer options, it's better than being controlled by others. The current situation is to avoid what we can and let go of what we can't avoid. What If...? there are things we can't let go of, we'll work together to find a solution."

Charlize Theron and JJ Harris exchanged a glance, and despite their reluctance, they had to agree with this opinion.

Compared to being caught up in the conflict between Vampires and Tony Stark, the current difficulties seem insignificant.

JJ Harris said, "There's one thing we can't ignore right now, and we don't have much time left."

"What is it?" Henry asked.

JJ Harris pulled out his calendar notebook and said, "Charlize's film, the Rock, will premiere on June 7th."

"The dress rental company I originally contacted has refused to work with me, and other rental companies are in similar situations. You can't expect Charlize to wear this to the premiere; it would offend people."

The girl who was called out was wearing a T-shirt and jeans, paired with a denim jacket—a classic casual style.

Wearing this casually might give off a youthful and Shang-Chi. But if you're going to wear it on the red carpet, you'd better be prepared to be criticized mercilessly.

JJ Harris further emphasized, "Mr. Sean Conner provided Charlize with a lot of help in this film. But I can't always bring up this veteran actor to speak up for Charlize."

"Therefore, occasions like premieres where we can appear together are very important. We need to show sufficient respect to Mr. Sean Conner, the lead actor. At the very least, we need to have an appropriate outfit."

"A dress," Henry asked, rubbing his clean-shaven chin. "What If...? we went and bought one?"

Shaking his head, JJ Harris said, "Sometimes, if a celebrity's commercial value hasn't reached a certain level, some brands might not want that person to appear in public wearing their gowns."

"The clothes you can buy are usually not from the current season. And even if you spend a lot of money, you can only wear them once. At most, you can wait a while, alter them, and then wear them a second time."

"If we do this every year, the expenses will be staggering. Are you sure you can afford it?"

JJ Harris, Charlize Theron's agent, didn't even bother to ask her about this. She knew perfectly well that Theron's current salary was merely enough to escape her own working Hell. There was no way she could afford clothing expenses.

Charlize, of course, knew what a huge trap this was, and quickly shook her head, saying, "Don't buy it, that's too wasteful of money. Is there any other way?"

"Other ways?" Henry thought, twirling his office chair with his hands behind his head.

JJ Harris added, "Some of the smaller designers I know are also under pressure from there, so they don't dare to work with me. Especially Charlize Theron's dresses, that's out of the question."

In truth, neither of them knew what kind of solution they hoped to get from asking Henry such a question. The fact that they had waited a month before finally coming to him suggested that they were somewhat desperate.

The swivel chair stopped abruptly, and Henry quickly turned back to face the desk. "I'll try making a call, but I don't know how it will go."

Can it really be solved?

Such questions arose in the minds of JJ Harris and Charlize Theron. Henry had already picked up the phone and was dialing a long-distance number.

Starting with "Boom!", Henry rattled off a string of French words.

The two women's language level was only at the French level, as far as I could tell. As for the content, they were completely at a loss for words.

They chatted and laughed throughout, seemingly enjoying their conversation. This gave the two women a boost of confidence.

After the call ended, before he could ask any questions, Henry dialed another number. The other end answered quickly, and then it was another conversation in French.

This time the conversation lasted even longer, making the two women, who couldn't understand, uneasy.

After Henry finally hung up the phone, he asked first, "Jane, does Charlize have any other plans? Do you have anything else to do?"

"No, all the plans on the original itinerary were explicitly rejected. There wasn't even a chance to try again," JJ Harris admitted.

"Well, that's alright then. We'll fly to Paris to see a friend of mine." Henry stood up, picking up his suit jacket. He remarked to himself, "He's willing to admit I'm a friend. I never thought I was so shameless."

"Who are we going to see?" JJ Harris asked.

"Mr. Hubert de Givenchy. Although he only stepped down as creative director of the LVMH Group last year and entered retirement, he still has a certain network of connections. Let's ask him to see if he can help resolve Charlize's problem."

JJ Harris looked on in astonishment and said, "You actually know Givenchy?"

"I met this fashion designer when I was Audrey Hepburn's assistant. But at first, I wasn't sure if I could even speak to her, which is why I didn't dare tell you. Now it seems the outcome was pretty good?"

Henry said this with some uncertainty.

It was probably during Hepburn Hepburn's final days, when she was running around with Mr. Givenchy, helping him arrange her return to Switzerland, that the bond they forged remained.

Suddenly going from being ignored by even dogs to meeting a retired fashion mogul, both women felt like they were in a dream, as if it were unreal.

Henry, of course, didn't have much to say. He simply opened his office door and said, "Miss Williams, please help me book tickets to Paris with Charlize and Ms. Harris."

"Okay, boss."
