Black and White Witch
The banquet, held within the fashion world, didn't feature the outlandish costumes one might expect. Perhaps this is because Paris, the fashion capital, doesn't place the same emphasis on innovation as London. Moreover, the difference between innovation and the bizarre can often lie in a single whim of the designer.
Here, men emphasize adding unique touches to their formal attire. Women, on the other hand, prioritize elegance, avoiding excessive exposure or extra embellishments.
Although it's not yet official fashion week, the competition between major designers has already begun. Therefore, their clothing is unlikely to be out-of-season designs; it's more likely that the designs are different from the current season's theme and thus didn't have the opportunity to appear on the runway.
It's not just designers who are present; some brands' go-to models also attend. And it's not limited to professional models; movie stars and singers close to the fashion world sometimes also show up here.
These people may have been invited by a brand, or they may have come voluntarily, hoping to gain the support or endorsement of a brand. Or perhaps they haven't reached the point of seeking an endorsement yet, and are just here to make their faces known.
Givenchy and Philippe Vigne arrived at the banquet early with their entourage. He made no attempt to hide bringing his girlfriends, Henry and Charlize, to meet with his close friends.
Although he is retired and has relinquished all designer-related positions, for someone like him who makes a living through creativity, starting anew or returning to the fashion world is merely a matter of thought. Whether the market will accept it is another matter.
So people approached him with a very interesting and subtle psychology. They were afraid that Givenchy would come back and take away their business, but at the same time, they wanted to use his fame to elevate themselves.
However, generally speaking, people still respect well-known figures like Givenchy. Even celebrities and models want his guidance, so they certainly wouldn't treat him with hostility.
While the big shots might receive respect, Henry and Charlize didn't get the same treatment.
It was supposed to be a very ordinary cocktail party, where everyone could hold a glass and chat freely with others. But Henry felt like he had walked into a bumper car track.
Every now and then, a stab or a tripping stunt would come flying in, or a waiter carrying a wine glass tray would suddenly appear.
Everyone has to pretend to be innocent, apologize for their behavior, and then feign concern by asking if the other person was injured.
In fact, at banquets like this where people can move around freely, bumps and scrapes are quite normal. But if they happen every three to five minutes, and you're just saying it's a coincidence, then you're just fooling yourself.
Fortunately, Henry, a Kryptonian with Super Senses, helped defend Charlize, preventing him from making a fool of himself.
Henry didn't retaliate by lecturing the other person. After all, both the person who caused the accident and the person who was hit were embarrassed, except that the person covered in spilled wine looked worse.
That guy is shameless, trying to drag Charlize, who's always been by Givenchy's side, down with him. Can Henry really be that shameless? Using such a tactic that kills a thousand enemies while losing eight hundred of his own?
So he kept his word. He came here today with a request, and he also had to consider the face of the important person beside him. Of course, he couldn't just think about his own pleasure when doing things.
It was Charlize's fiery temper that made her want to retaliate several times, but Henry always managed to suppress her. She was no foolish girl who could be manipulated at will.
In short, Henry got to experience the battlefield of the fashion world firsthand. Although there were no swords and bloodshed, the danger was no less than that of places filled with gunfire and explosions.
Just as the seventeenth waiter was deflected and helped steady the tray of drinks he was carrying, a commotion arose outside the banquet hall. Some onlookers, as if they knew what a good show was about to unfold, ran out.
Holding his Givenchy didn't move. Instead, he said as if he understood something, "She's here."
A burst of hearty laughter mingled with gasps from the crowd as a woman with tousled black and white hair, dressed in a fur coat despite it being summer, walked into the banquet hall.
A black dress paired with red lips, red high heels, and bright red arm-length gloves, while the fur coat is white with black the Spot. The woman's striking style, so different from the Paris ambiance, immediately draws everyone's attention.
Even if they showed a look of disgust, they couldn't help but criticize her outfit and try to find fault with it.
Look at this woman who doesn't look old at all; she's as flamboyant as a supermodel walking the runway, attracting everyone's attention with her exaggerated poses.
It's unclear how many people noticed that she actually had two followers behind her. One was tall and thin, and the other was short and stout.
Both men were dressed in well-tailored suits, paired with round felt hats worn at an angle. In terms of clothing and styling, they were in no way inferior to their boss.
However, the three of them had completely different auras.
She walked right up to Givenchy and extended her hand, adorned with a blue diamond ring, to the man.
Givenchy, unfazed by the rudeness, took her hand and gave her a kiss on the hand. "Cruella de Vil, your style remains as distinctive as ever, like punching someone in the eye. Spare an old man like me."
Cruella de Vil, having lowered her hand, turned and leaned into Givenchy's arms, glancing up at him sideways as if offering herself up. "Are you getting old? How about we make a deal? Let's register our marriage, okay? I can guarantee you a glorious future."
"I have a husband." Givenchy gently pushed the woman in his arms away, politely declining her offer.
Some femme fatales accumulate wealth by killing their husbands or getting divorced, but Givenchy, is unlikely to fall into such a trap.
The woman who had been pushed away turned around again and stood neatly in front of her henchmen. The two men expertly handed her a cigarette filter long enough to hit someone with, and of course, they also put a cigarette in her mouth.
The other person lit the Cruella de Vil with a Zippo lighter, making a crisp "ding!" sound.
The three moved so smoothly, as if they had rehearsed it a thousand times.
In the 1990s, if someone inhaled secondhand smoke, they had no choice but to suffer in silence.
There's nowhere that's off-limits to smoking. Even if they get a whiff of smoke, the France habit is simply to cover it up with even stronger perfume, just like they would cover up their own unwashed body odor.
So when Cruella de Vil lit a cigarette, no one stopped him. Some heavy smokers even joined in, and cigar smokers naturally came to join the fun as well.
Having grown accustomed to her arrogant attitude, Cruella de Vil didn't greet those she deemed worthy upon arrival; instead, she stood directly in front of Givenchy.
That powerful sense of oppression deterred others who wanted to speak with Givenchy.
