Emergency Call from New York

The call was to Henry's personal mobile phone. This device was not currently connected to any self-destruct device and was functioning normally.

"Mr. Henry Brown, please help us. We don't know who else to turn to in this situation. Where are you?"

A woman's panicked, crying voice came through the phone. Henry was certain he had never spoken to this person before, so he naturally couldn't recognize the voice.

But seeing that the other person could clearly state her name, Henry still reassured her, "Calm down, ma'am. And who are you?"

"I am Maria Stark Tom, Catherine Hepburn's personal nurse. When Ms. Hepburn was lucid, she often mentioned you and said that she could call you for help if she had any trouble."

In the winter of 1996, Catherine Hepburn was hospitalized for pneumonia. After being discharged, her health remained poor, and her beloved acting career came to a complete halt. It is said that she also developed symptoms of dementia.

Although she didn't know the name of the private nurse in charge of taking care of her, the information matched up.

In such a critical situation, Henry didn't question it further. He asked directly, "Calm down, and tell me what happened? Is Catherine alright?"

"It seems you're not in New York, Mr. Brown. This whole thing is on the news; if you were here, you couldn't possibly be unaware."

"Could it be that another Giant Monster has emerged from the seabed and landed on land?"

Henry recalled the earlier incident when Gozilla landed in New York, and how he had cared for his close friend, who was much older than him, on the East Coast. At that time, Catherine Hepburn happened to be at her family's seaside villa in Connecticut and escaped the disaster.

However, this time, the people around her are calling for help, so the problem seems quite serious.

Henry turned on the television in his office and said, "Isn't there a superhero called Sentry in New York? What disaster can't he solve?"

The television was on, and it happened to be on the news channel, showing a scene of ordinary people fleeing haphazardly in a disaster. The picture was shaky, and there were no anchors reporting the situation, clearly indicating that a cameraman was carrying a camera and running for his life.

As if to add a note to this scene, the private caregiver said with disappointment over the phone, "The Sentry has gone mad."

As if echoing Maria Stark Tom's words, the news footage then flipped around, allowing Henry to recognize many of New York 'Manhattan iconic landmarks. The camera then stopped rolling and focused on a man floating in mid-air.

Sentry is arguably the strongest superhero in the Marvel Universe, not only in this era but also in theory, placing him on a different level from Captain Marvel.

However, this guy's expression was completely different from his usual confident and amiable demeanor on television. Instead, his face was gloomy and his eyes were like those of a dead fish.

Is this the Void?

Sure enough, on the television screen, the eerie, spreading shadows sucked everyone they touched into them. The only trace they left in the world was a black silhouette. Then, the terrifying scene was cut off by the television station, and the footage was replaced with that of the anchor desk.

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Henry quickly asked, "Maria Stark, where are you now? Are you at your home on East 49th Street in Turtle Bay? Who else is with you besides you and Catherine?"

"I happen to be in New York right now, but I'm out here, so I haven't seen the news. I just saw what's happening on a TV in a shop on the street."

Henry, who said this, appeared in the underground parking lot of Stark Studios, next to his old brown Cadillac.

The woman on the phone hurriedly replied, "Yes, yes. We're on East 49th Street, at Ms. Hepburn's house. It's just the two of us."

"The lady's condition isn't good; she refuses to leave. I really can't handle this situation on my own, so I'm calling you for help."

After understanding the situation, Henry immediately said, "Okay, Maria Stark, calm down and listen to me. I'll drive over to you right now and take you to Ms. Hepburn's family seaside villa in Connecticut."

"What you need to do now is pack your important things. Especially Ms. Hepburn's medication, don't forget it."

"I'll knock on the door when I get there, and then we'll bring Ms. Hepburn out together. Is that alright?"

"Okay, okay, Mr. Brown." The woman on the phone remained flustered and asked, "But when will you be coming?"

"Just a few minutes. I'm hanging up now."

It's too late to rent a car on the East Coast. Although the place the Void Hair is located is quite a distance from Catherine Hepburn's house, the destructive power of that thing is incalculable, and Henry cannot allow that lady to be harmed.

So the fastest way is still to carry your own car over.

But in New York, will the X- X-Men intervene to stop the Void? Is Jean Grey, the Phoenix, even there?

If we're talking about Earth's current fighting power, the one most likely to stop the Void is probably Jean Grey, who has obtained the Phoenix Force. Forget about the Thunderbolts; even if the fully-fledged Avengers from the movie were brought out, they wouldn't be able to do anything.

Call Captain Marvel back?

Given Captain Marvel's speed of reinforcements, by the time she returns, it will be too late. And let's not even consider the question of whether they can win.

Furthermore, is there any political benefit to calling Captain Marvel back to fight the Sentry? That's the key to whether Nick Fury will take action.

I didn't see the movie <Avengers: Infinity War>, where the one-eyed Old Black didn't activate his pager until he was about to turn to dust.

This is because if he doesn't use it, he won't have the chance, which is why we see him use it.

Otherwise, when Thanos's fleet openly came to Earth to steal the Infinity Stones, wouldn't this spy chief, who controlled the most powerful intelligence system at the time, have known that Earth was in crisis?

Or perhaps he simply trusted the Avengers at the time to solve the immediate problem, which is why he didn't want to call Captain Marvel.

I didn't realize I'd gone too far until I was almost dead, and I had to call them back.

Regardless, Nick Fury is essentially a political creature. Don't expect him to gamble or contribute anything that doesn't benefit him or give him control.

The X-Men have also faced significant problems in recent years; at the very least, the government's attitude towards these Mutants has worsened. This is because the X- X-Men, led by Mystique Darkholme, are not as adept at handling situations as the team led by Professor X, and reports of insubordination are frequent.

Therefore, you can't really rely on either side. The best approach is to go far away.

If the goal was simply to transport people fleeing the disaster, stealing a car in New York would be the easiest solution. However, explaining this to that old lady, Catherine Hepburn, would be incredibly difficult.

After much deliberation, Henry decided to carry his car and fly there.

The old lady's dementia was only intermittent, not so severe that she forgot everything; nor was her vision so clouded that she couldn't distinguish between truth and falsehood.

He could explain that he happened to be driving to New York on business, but he couldn't explain why he stole a car to pick up passengers.

So, Henry, taking full responsibility, grabbed the chassis below the front bumper with one hand and lifted the car up like a jack.

It then crawled under the car, lifted it up, and used its flying ability to fly directly from Los Angeles to New York.
