X-Men Join the Battle
Professor X's idea was great, but unfortunately most people on the battlefield weren't the X-Men he created.
He immediately withdrew after encountering Superman's mindset; the lesson he learned back then was far too profound. He, however, did want to follow in the footsteps of those sorcerers and witches.
However, these people consciously kept Professor X out of their consciousness. You see, those who are summoned by the Sorcerer Supreme are not ordinary people. Not just anyone can establish a Mind Stone connection with them, and they are even less willing to have their minds spied on.
Professor X could break through their consciousness, but that would be tantamount to an internal struggle on a mental level. So, after noticing the resistance from the group, Professor X stopped and did not take forceful action.
It was precisely because of his self-awareness that Professor X was spared the disaster of being verbally abused by a group of people from the Magical World.
They had just been constantly reinforcing the shell that trapped the Void, only to have it shattered by Cyclops's single blow. If Professor X dared to enter their minds, being cursed like a dog would be the least of his worries.
To be honest, even if Cyclops hadn't intervened, that attack would have been as fragile as an eggshell against the Void.
Cyclops knew this too; his plan was to strike the Void hard the moment it was controlled. But he didn't expect that his attack would be ineffective against the Void; it was just a convenient scapegoat.
The Void, blocked by Jean Grey's shield, did not engage in a stalemate with the Phoenix Force parasites, but separated immediately upon contact.
Superman didn't just stand by and watch the X-Men appear. Instead, he attacked the Void even more aggressively, keeping this terrifying enemy occupied.
Superman noticed that not only were not all X-Men present, but everyone who did come, except for Professor X, was injured.
Considering what Scarlet Witch said earlier—that the X-Men had already suffered a setback—it's not hard to understand why most of them were absent. She meant that if they needed to fight the Sentry or the Void, they shouldn't send anyone too weak.
Since Superman was making a move, Quicksilver wasn't idle either. Although he had mastered the ability to fly, he was still not proficient and was not as agile as Superman or the Void, who had the ability to fly.
Therefore, Quicksilver's actions are very planned and prepared, which makes his actions more predictable. Although it is much better than having Scarlet Witch create a foothold for him, in the eyes of the Void, this behavior is still a path to death.
The Void focused on dodging Superman's punches, staying away from the Mutants with the Phoenix Force, and taking several attacks from Quicksilver. All of this made the speedster, who suddenly had the ability to walk on air, feel elated, thinking that things would end in his hands.
Little did I know that it was all a trap set by the Void.
Just as Quicksilver arrogantly tried to punch the Void the head and end the fight, his fist was caught!
Although his bones and muscles were extraordinary, they were no match for the Void's strength. He only wanted to take this opportunity to cripple Quicksilver's the Void, but in the end, he still had to shake him off and avoid the next attack.
Aside from Superman's familiar Iron Fist attack, Phoenix's clasped hands, their edges transforming into incredibly sharp blades, slashed at the arm that the Void was holding Quicksilver with, forcing him to release it. She then flung Quicksilver into Phoenix's arms, both of them flying away.
This slight delay, under normal circumstances, would have the Void Xu Wu to spew out a few more insults and mentally undermine the enemy.
But Superman was by his side, and he didn't just watch intently; he took direct action. Seizing any opening, he unleashed a triple punch, palm strike, and kick, grabbing the blue cape and dragging the man back before repeating the three-hit combo!
Two rounds weren't enough. Superman blocked the direction in which the Void was sent flying, caught the person, and unleashed a triple strike!
At that moment, thunder roared in the sky, and lightning bolts rained down like a forest. Storm had been holding back for so long, was finally unleashed.
However, for the Superman or the Void within them, they completely ignored the divine power of nature that mortals would avoid at all costs. They continued to fight, their eyes fixed only on each other's deadly blows.
As for the girl on the side, let her cultivate to the level of generating a black hole before she comes!
Needless to say, Cyclops's offensive is formidable. Unless he removes his eyepatch and fully unleashes the spatial energy connected to his eyes for a wide-range sweep, he won't be able to interfere with Superman's battle against the Void.
Moreover, if Cyclops were to go all out, it wouldn't be impossible for him to seriously injure Superman and the Void. Unfortunately, Professor X's teachings have prevented him from truly pushing his limits. His attacks are effective against ordinary people, but the two people before him are clearly extraordinary.
The Mutants and sorcerers lacked proper communication and cooperation, and Cyclops's frequent Cyclops only seemed to hinder others. This was especially true of the sorcerers, who even the Scarlet Witch didn't fully respect; they disliked the other side even more.
However, whether it was the Void hitting Superman or Superman hitting the Void, it felt like they were hitting a punching bag. They were just hitting each other, without any reaction, so they didn't know if the attacks had any effect.
The feeling of the Void is just that—a feeling. As the opponent's power grows stronger and stronger, seemingly getting closer and closer to his critical point, he becomes increasingly uneasy.
Superman, however, felt that no matter how hard he fought, he couldn't inflict any real damage. He wasn't the real Superman after all, and at this moment, he was just as insecure.
As his power level increased, Superman inevitably suffered collateral damage from many of the attacks he endured. He crashed into a building and dragged his opponent through one building after another.
Both of them knew that in a duel between ordinary people, Earth was always their biggest ally. If one of them managed to throw the other onto solid ground, the opponent would inevitably be dizzy and disoriented.
But for Superman and the Void, Earth's power is almost nonexistent. Even if they dragged each other into crashing through countless buildings, it wouldn't compare to a solid punch to the face or a kick to the groin!
However, in order to deflect the force of the opponent's attack, he had to cause damage to the environment. Superman at least knew how to restrain himself to some extent, but the Void was completely unrestrained.
Unfortunately, as his power increased, even if Superman restrained himself and risked internal injuries, he could not avoid accidentally injuring his surroundings.
The destruction of the environment will, in turn, affect the people hiding within it. All Superman can do is minimize the impact and reduce the harm as much as possible.
Logically speaking, this offensive and defensive posture should be enough to influence the course of the battle, causing the advantage to tilt towards the Void.
But the more Superman got into character, the stronger his belief in protecting others became, and his defenses seemed to increase accordingly, making the Void even less vulnerable.
Moreover, with the return to the Kryptonian style of relying on Steel Body, super strength, and Super Speed for close combat, and with opponents of similar caliber providing training, Superman's performance became increasingly adept.
Quicksilver, back on the battlefield, once again disrupts the rhythm of the Void. The menacing sorcerers and Phoenix also irritate him.
Even more seriously, the voice belonging to Robert Reynolds within him, under Professor X's guidance, gradually grew stronger. It was as if this coward was trying to climb out of the Abyss within his heart, regain control of his body, and become Sentry, no longer the Void.
In a fit of rage, the Void took a solid punch from both Superman and Quicksilver, using the pain to tell Robert Reynolds within him that this was not something he could bear.
He's just a coward who relies on overwhelming cheating skills to flaunt his power in front of others. The real world always has a more powerful force, and real harm will cause real pain!
Taking this hit wasn't just a warning to Robert Reynolds. The Void also used this opportunity to shake off the combined attack of Superman and Quicksilver, aiming to eliminate the biggest threat at this stage: the man in the wheelchair, Professor X.
As already mentioned, since X-Men X Division -Men were established in 1962 with the assistance of the CIA, they have experienced countless battles, from the time when Professor X was still alive and kicking to when he was in a wheelchair. They are a battle-hardened organization.
How could they possibly allow an obvious weakness to be exposed and become a target for the enemy? If there is one, it's only because it's been set as a trap.
From the moment Professor X drew the Void's attention to the Void's aggressive attack, Phoenix, whose mobility was inferior to the other speedsters present, executed a beautiful "castling," switching places with Professor X.
Besides saving Professor X, it also gave him the opportunity to confront the Void.
