Good Sentry
With its face turned to the side and bent forward, its eyes wide open, one wide and the other narrowed, it truly smiled beneath the blood-stained smiling mask, saying, "Does it matter?"
The scene sent chills down the Sentry's spine, reminding him of when he was still a mortal, and how he was beaten up in an alley by a drug dealer who sold rice and his men because he owed money.
The other person's smile back then was just as terrifying as what you see now.
The Phoenix descended from the sky and hurriedly stood in its way. Perhaps her face didn't look like it at the beginning of the war, but now she no longer bothered to hide her true identity.
"Henry, stop. Hand the Sentry over to the Professor. We can use Professor X's abilities to prevent that dark personality from ever resurfacing."
It chuckled mockingly, "A dead Sentry is a good Sentry."
"I won't allow you to do such a thing." Jean Grey stood her ground, raising her palms in front of her to create a protective barrier supported by the Phoenix Force. "Don't kill. Don't dirty your hands for any reason. It's not worth it."
It didn't argue with Phoenix about whether it should or shouldn't have done it; it simply focused its energy in its left eye. An unusual and ominous red light, so intense it almost became tangible, rippled around its eye socket.
In the distance, the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, along with Scarlet Witch and other magicians, were approaching. Under Professor X's leadership, they were preparing to eradicate the Sentry ' mental problems and prevent the Void from reappearing.
Seeing this, Jean Grey naturally had to block the person in front of her. She tried to use her telekinesis to push Henry away.
Even Superman couldn't withstand the attack, amplified by the Phoenix Force. He was instantly knocked back several meters.
However, from her shattered left eye, a strange red light shot out. This red light would abruptly bend at certain points where it could be intercepted, drawing eerie linear patterns in the air, silently penetrating Phoenix's defenses and striking the Sentry behind her.
There were no screams, no horrifying noises. It was just like a burning candle having its wick extinguished by a light switch; the flame of life was extinguished just like that.
A man named Robert Reynolds lay sprawled on the ground, amidst the rubble and debris from the battle-ravaged road.
Pupils dilated, heartbeat stopped. The spirit belonging to this body was completely Oblivion, even its color was lost, leaving only a broken, ashen body.
Jean Grey turned her head following the path of the light, only managing to catch a glimpse of the Sentry lying in the dust. She was utterly disappointed and glared angrily at the man who was covering his left eye, yet blood was still gushing out.
The Phoenix Force symbolizes the universe and emotions; calmness has never been a characteristic of those who possess this power. Its resolute defiance directly triggered Jean Grey's outburst!
A massive surge of Phoenix Force erupted, spontaneously forming a shape resembling fiery wings, coalescing behind Jean Grey. The shimmering flames on her body and her flowing hair all indicated that the power was teetering on the edge of self-control and loss of control.
Jean Grey angrily exclaimed, "How dare you...!"
Instead of meeting the enraged Phoenix, another ray of light pierced its right eye.
Previously, it had exchanged blows with some unknown entity through the Void of its head. Something inexplicable and indescribable had appeared within it, causing only discomfort and a feeling of unease.
This force, combined with the Heat Vision's power, surged into the eyeball, and a single shot caused it to explode. However, the power was also considerable, instantly killing the Sentry.
The Phoenix's furious threat caused it to channel its remaining power into its other eye. Risking double blindness, it fired a second shot! This allowed the Phoenix to experience the power of utter annihilation from another world, on a causal level.
However, originating from the primordial universe, it is an immortal, Eternity yet impermanent Phoenix in the multiverse. How could its cause and effect be erased by a mere external force like water without a source or a tree without roots?
The two forces are fundamentally opposed to each other. If Phoenix were to lose, the universe might perish. Therefore, this has led to a huge connection, involving countless others.
All of this is a secret battle fought with Jean Grey as the battlefield.
The final result was no surprise; the Phoenix won. But how could the vessel of the battlefield remain unscathed? A terrifying force of annihilation ravaged every inch of Jean Grey's skin, turning her to ash in an instant, only to bring her back to life in another.
The two fundamental forces fought repeatedly, turning every inch of the body into a battlefield. The pain was unimaginable to ordinary people.
Jean Grey knelt down and opened her mouth, trying to scream to relieve the pain, but no sound came out.
How could fellow X-Men members, or former X-Men members, stand by and watch their comrade suffer like this? Quicksilver was the first to rush forward, trying to pull Jean Grey to the back.
Henry looked very strange, and even he was frightened. At a time like this, how could Quicksilver dare to stay in front of a man who had covered his eyes and was covered in blood?
However, Quicksilver couldn't bring Jean Grey to the rear. Although his Mutants abilities were strong and had great potential for development, they still couldn't compare to the power of someone like Phoenix.
It wasn't that the Phoenix was protecting itself, but rather that, in addition to the Annihilation Force Destroy everything near her, the out-of-control Phoenix was also releasing a small portion of another Causal Termination Force that was competing with her, affecting the people and things that were nearby.
Quicksilver failed, but it excited another man even more: Scott Summers, Jean Grey's boyfriend, and Cyclops of the X-Men.
He already disliked that guy who claimed to be an alien. Especially since he was dressed as Superman, his aversion was even stronger. Everyone had a childhood, reading Superman comics.
Now that his girlfriend has been bullied, how could he not be Reason!
Regardless of whether the other party's eyes were injured or whether they could see, Cyclops pressed the switch on his eye mask, and a red Optic Blast connecting to the other dimension immediately shot out, aimed directly at its back.
The great revenge has been achieved, but regret remains, which is why it continues its madness. Perhaps time can calm its emotions, eventually allowing it to move on and return to its normal self.
In this situation, any act of aggression will only provoke it to respond more violently.
My two eyes are indeed blind, due to the misuse of powers I'm not familiar with. But my other Super Senses are still intact!
If they dared to beat up a woman like Phoenix, why would they need to consult an auspicious day to beat up someone with Cyclops?
It activated its Super Speed, preparing to Cyclops's head from his body with a single punch, but its punch unexpectedly missed. Quicksilver had gotten there first, carrying Cyclops away from his original position.
"Hey! Brother, calm down. We can talk this out." Quicksilver tried to be a peacemaker. But the people he protected still wouldn't listen.
