The Solitary Confinement Cell
The brawl finally ended when the prison guards used their batons to beat down everyone who could still stand, including Henry, who was lying in the dust.
Henry was dragged up from the ground, his entire body a mess. Covered in dust and footprints, no one could tell whether he had been beaten black and blue or had a bloody head.
Ironically, this guy with no known identity wasn't even subject to the most basic checks. Just like other serious offenders, he was thrown into solitary confinement.
The solitary confinement cells had no heating; one can imagine how unbearable it would be to be thrown into such a place during winter.
But for Henry, this was just right. Otherwise, he would have had to worry about how to escape by flying away in front of everyone.
It's easy to imagine that from today onward, as long as Henry remains in prison, he will be under everyone's watchful eye. Even if they have no particular intentions towards him, they will be wary of him causing trouble again and endangering others.
If someone is in solitary confinement, as long as a prison guard doesn't witness them flying away, even if the confinement room is eventually empty, and the guards search the entire prison and surrounding area, how could they possibly track them down while they're in the United States?
This is the best opportunity to evacuate.
Having resolved four pending matters within Russia, Henry naturally prepared to leave.
Although I took a lot of punches and kicks today, I didn't even get a scratch. If people find out that Ivan Kochetov and Yuri Kuznozov are dead and pin it on me, that would be troublesome.
Just as Henry was about to slip through the wall and leave the solitary confinement cell, the person in the next cell began pounding on the wall, as if they were about to break down the concrete brick wall, causing a lot of dirt and stones to fall down. At the same time, they said:
"Hey buddy next door, do you really need to make such a big fuss just to collect a debt, dragging everyone in here? Are you a prisoner or something?"
Judging from the voice, it was that bear-like man. Thinking back to his initial suggestion, although a bit crude, it was at least a gesture of goodwill.
Henry chose to halt his actions for the time being, replying, "If you want to make things easier, you can push the blame onto me. But don't delve into my identity."
"United States, right?" the man next door suddenly said in English. Without waiting for Henry to admit it, he continued, "Your Russian accent is so strange, I can't tell where you're from at all. Are the CIA agents this unprofessional these days?"
Henry was greatly surprised, never expecting that the guy who looked no different from a brute would be so perceptive. He immediately found his weakness and even made a guess.
Instead of immediately refuting his CIA affiliation, saving himself the trouble of misleading the other party, Henry retorted fiercely in English, "You dare say that to my face? Aren't you afraid I'll kill you to silence you?"
"How do you plan to silence me? Our cells may be next door, but can you get through the concrete wall?"
"Maybe I can."
"So this is your escape plan, Mutants?"
Holy crap! The more I say, the more mistakes I make. You really can't underestimate anyone.
"It's none of your business. Besides, you, who were thrown into a place like this, don't think that reporting me will get you a chance to leave, do you?"
"Bezdārny!" he cursed in his native tongue, then the man next door said, "Alexei Shostakov, that's my name. And yours, young man?"
Clark Kent.
"Superman, hmm. You're funny, I admire you, kid. Alexei is my real name!" The tone abruptly changed from gentle to angry, and the man slammed his fist on the wall. A small amount of sand was shaken to the ground in Henry's cell.
"I know you, Red Guardian. So why do you think I would dare reveal my identity to you?" Henry said.
Judging from this man's extraordinary combat prowess and the identity he revealed, if one still cannot recognize this super soldier of the Red Empire, then one would be wasting their status as a transmigrator.
Henry's reply, however, sounded very much like flattery. This made Alexei smug, and he laughed, saying, "You know me. Heh, really? You know me."
"It's actually quite normal that you know me, after all, I'm Captain America's nemesis. The most valiant and fearless soldier under the hammer and scythe. If any United States doesn't know me, they're incredibly ignorant."
Although Henry really wanted to complain about the other person, he held back. Instead, he asked, "So Red Guardian, who's locked up in prison, I can confirm that you're not waiting here because of me. After all, my coming here was also a spur-of-the-moment decision."
"So here's the question: what's your purpose in talking to me? Do you want to defect to the United States? Even if you say yes today, how can I believe you? Besides, even if you really are, I don't have the ability to do such a thing."
Alexei, in the next cell, said dejectedly, "Can you imagine? Before setting off on this mission, you were a brave and fearless Red Guardian, the nation's most trusted super soldier."
"When I returned from the mission, my country was gone, and all I could see was my successor messing things up on the same land. My loyalty was also questioned. Compared to that, the criticisms of my mission failure were just trivial matters."
"And to whom should I offer my loyalty? Those traitors who have lost their faith and turned to capitalism. They are a bunch of selfish scoundrels; what good can they do besides betraying their comrades?"
Listening to the Red Guardian's complaints, sometimes in English, sometimes back in Russian, with all sorts of foul language, it was clear that his resentment was genuine, regardless of whether he had any ulterior motives.
"So!" Henry interrupted the other man's complaint, speaking loudly, "Just because of this, you're planning to switch sides and go to United States? Are you serious? Or have I misunderstood?"
"What If...? you're thinking of taking revenge on the entire United States by yourself, then you should save your breath. You might be a super soldier, but you're still just a soldier. Even if you could blow up the White House, according to the Presidential Succession Act, there will always be a president who takes that position immediately."
"What If...? you want to revive the Red Empire, I think you can save your breath. Even those who were originally on the same side internationally don't want Big Brother to really come back. Or do you really want to embrace United States? Hmm, the guardian of blue, white, and red?"
Alexei roared, "Хуй_тебе!" and slammed his fist down again! This time, the wall was cracked like Spider.
The man, his voice trembling with tears, broke down and said, "I just want to leave here! This is no longer the country I believe in, the country I'm willing to dedicate my life to."
"I don't want to waste the rest of my life in this prison. I have a wife, Melina, and two lovely daughters, Natasha and Yelena."
"Although we were just pretending to be a family for five years, I really want to see their lovely faces again. Who could imagine that the only home I ever had, though fake, is so dear to me?"
As if guided by some strange force, Henry passed through the wall and arrived at the Red Guardian's cell. He immediately saw the bear-like man, who was covering his face and silently shedding tears.
Are you crying?
The startled man wiped his snot and tears haphazardly, directly onto his large beard. He stubbornly muttered in his native language, "Хуй_тебе! No! Who's crying? I'm not crying."
