Escape from Prison
Alexei sat on the ground, his back against the wall he always punched. Henry knelt down in front of him, looking directly at the man.
A thousand thoughts flashed through my mind.
"Have you thought about a few things?" Henry asked one by one, "What If...? you really leave, what will you do? And I believe that the famous Red Guardian will be in the spotlight. No matter where you are, people will recognize you."
"So how will you evade potential pursuit? Besides Russia, there might also be the United States, What If...? you go to the United States. And one last question, what do I get in return for helping you like this?"
Noticing that the problem was not unfounded, Alexei said seriously, "I don't know what to do after I leave. I haven't even thought I could leave alive."
"But you're wrong to say that people recognize me everywhere I go. Besides combat training, I've always received special agent training, and my main job is to infiltrate various countries to carry out secret missions."
"You don't think this is like World War II, with battlefields everywhere filled with blood and gore that need me, do you? If I hadn't taken action in the last mission in the United States, the United States probably wouldn't even know I've been hiding in Ohio for five years."
"As for the last question, I have nothing left. What do you still hope to get from me? Loyalty? You wouldn't dare to believe something like that if I just said it offhand."
Leaving aside whether he had any intention of developing his own power, the Alexei Shostakov before him was not the greasy middle-aged man in the movie who had to shrink his stomach to squeeze into the Red Guardian suit.
Although it is unknown how long he has been imprisoned in Siberia, judging roughly from his physique and appearance, he is still in his prime and his condition has not deteriorated much.
This means that his spirit is certainly not like that of the characters in the movies, who, after being imprisoned for ten or twenty years, have lost much of their vigor and only want their daughters to hug them.
Is it beneficial to release a staunch communist vanguard who still holds firm to his beliefs but has lost his allegiance? Such a person is not easily controlled.
A thought flashed through his mind, and Henry chuckled self-deprecatingly. He had no intention of developing power or establishing an organization, so why bother with such things?
Consider it a good deed; you never know when it might come in handy. As for whether doing so might change the trajectory of the other person's fate or create additional ripples in the butterfly effect, Henry wasn't too concerned.
In this chaotic world, how could the Time Variance Authority (TVA) possibly exist? If it does exist, then let's make it cease to exist.
Having been outmaneuvered by the Ancient One, the Kryptonian was furious and wanted to vent his anger on some fools.
In some unnamed place, Kang.
Looking at the timeline that had veered off course and scattered like fireworks, with most of the personnel wiped out, he didn't dare send anyone to cut that crucial mutation node and maintain the Sacred Timeline. He could only scratch his head in worry.
In short, after weighing the pros and cons, Henry looked at the Red Guardian in front of him, who was completely different from his impression, and said, "It's not impossible to help you leave, just consider it as you owing me a favor."
"However, there's something I need to make clear first: you must not mention me to anyone else, and you must not disclose any information related to me."
I may not be able to punish you, but the help I can offer will end here.
"You don't need to worry that I'm a member of any organization like the C1A, MI6, KGB, or Mossad. I have no connection with any organization you know or don't know. I only represent myself."
"This means you owe me a favor that you may never be able to repay. Since I don't need your help, just don't hold me back. Is that acceptable?"
Henry extended his hand and placed it in front of Alexei Shostakov.
The cautious man didn't rush to grasp the glimmer of hope. He asked, "Then why did you come here to collect debts from two Russia?"
"Personal grudges."
Alexei emphasized, "Personal grudges? It's not a mission objective, a cover-up, or an attempt to extract crucial information from them."
"Oh, they're all dead—they should be dead. So it's too late to find out anything, unless you can read Mind Stone and extract the information from their brains first."
Henry laughed and said, "No, it's just a personal grudge. They did some bad things to me before, so I'm here for revenge."
"There are only two?"
"No, actually there are still twenty-four left," Henry said honestly.
"I can help."
"It's pointless to ask others for help with something like this," Henry smiled and waved his empty hand.
"Sukabr!" Alexei grabbed Henry's hand, then, without further thought, stood up and asked, "What are your evacuation plans?"
Can you run? How fast can you run?
"I'm an Olympics 100-meter sprint Champion. I can run a marathon with him, and he still can't beat me. You don't think a super soldier's physical abilities are just at the level of an excellent athlete, do you?" Alexei said smugly.
Henry retorted, "If someone who runs the 100 meters is dragged into a marathon, would you be surprised if they couldn't beat them? Never mind, I won't nitpick your words."
"Just run as fast as you can. Hopefully, the pursuers from the prison won't be too aggressive. My evacuation plan originally didn't include you, so I have to revise it. It'll take some time."
Alexei asked again, "Airplane? Or car? Airplane is better. Although cars don't need snow chains in this weather, the prison has several high-powered off-road vehicles; ordinary cars can't outrun them on the surrounding roads. And—"
To be honest, Henry is starting to regret it. Why doesn't he remember the Red Guardian being a chatterbox?
Or is it that in the Marvel Universe, those who wear red are assumed to have certain characteristics? For example, they're always chattering away. Spider-Man, Deadpool, and now, let's add the Red Guardian.
An impatient Henry grabbed Alexei by the scruff of his neck. The super soldier tried to resist, but found himself being slammed against the wall by a tremendous force!
Alexei was quite familiar with this kind of thing, using someone else's face to smash a wall. However, he had always been the one responsible for pressing down on others' faces.
The sudden reversal of roles was naturally quite unsettling for him. He managed to restrain himself from screaming like a little girl, and even tried to brace his face against the wall to prevent it from hitting him too hard.
There was no resistance or pain as expected. Alexei found himself outside the walls of the solitary confinement cell in a flash. Not in the indoor corridor, but on the outdoor side.
"How dare you run like that? I don't need to lead you." Henry said, then started running. Alexei Shostakov had no choice but to follow.
