Mood Neon Lights
"Your hair is... electrified?" Black Super asked in surprise.
Upon hearing the voice from the Black Super, Bill Johnson looked up, his hair and eyebrows changing color again. "My hair has been like this since I woke up, and it changes color all the time."
"Dude, are you married?"
Bill Johnson, whose hair had suddenly turned completely blue, said, "Divorced. That bitch took half my money before I went bankrupt. She got off easy." As he finished speaking, his hair turned red.
As if struck by a thought, the Black Super asked again, "Let me test you. What's the scariest thing you've ever encountered? Tell me if you can, or just recall it if you can't."
"Does being scared by the movie ' The A Nightmare on Elm Street ' count?" Bill Johnson asked, his hair turning a dull, dark purple.
"The happiest thing?" the Black Super asked again.
"I fucked our cheerleading captain in college. That girl's legs and waist, wow, wow," Bill Johnson said, as if trying to whet the audience's appetite.
Whether the bawdy joke was true or not, this evasive way of speaking naturally made those around him very dissatisfied. Black Super noticed, however, was Bill Johnson's hair and eyebrows, which had turned a bright yellow.
What do you hate the most?
"You can't understand human language, you self-righteous idiot," said Bill Johnson, sporting a head of bright green hair.
"I see." Black Super, without asking any further questions, looked thoughtfully at the middle-aged man who had only recently awakened his mutant abilities.
Although there isn't much data yet, is it possible that ordinary people who miss puberty and can't awaken their mutant abilities are because their abilities are too weak, preventing the X-Gene from activating during puberty?
The more powerful the Mutants, the younger they usually awaken. This is because their immense power cannot be confined by the bodies of ordinary humans, allowing them to break through limitations and become Mutants at a young age.
No wonder the one who awakened his powers from birth is considered Mutants beyond Omega-class. His abilities are so exaggerated that he doesn't even exist on Earth.
So, Magneto's plan to transform all of humanity into Mutants only resulted in the mass production of Epsilon-class Mutants?
Can those Old Money, congressmen, and military and political bigwigs accept this kind of thing?
It seems the future looks bleak.
"A bleak future? What do you mean?" Selene asked, following Magneto.
It seems that Selene read what he was thinking. Black Super smiled and said, "I was referring to Bill Johnson's mutant ability; his hair color seems to change with his mood."
"This means that if he wants to lie in the future, his hair will betray him. Luckily, he's already divorced; otherwise, whether he encounters his wife or a lawyer, I can't think of any way he could negotiate fairly with them except by shaving his head."
Even more reacting than Magneto was Bill Johnson himself. His burgundy hair clearly showed he was both shocked and furious. "Oh, damn it! Are you serious?"
Without even needing Black Super answer, the Mutants standing around watching the spectacle all nodded in unison.
"Oh, damn it!" Bill Johnson grabbed a mirror and stared at himself intently. "Give me a hat. Oh, no. Give me a razor. I want to shave all my hair off."
"And your eyebrows, eyelashes, and nose hairs. If you really want to shave them off, you have to leave none of them either," Black Super, always eager to stir things up, chimed in.
In that instant, Magneto wondered if asking this guy for help was a rash decision. After all, the Clown-Sup was still his...
There were no kind-hearted onlookers to persuade him; most of them were egging him on. Some handed him knives, and others were knives themselves. A group of people stepped forward, intending to shave Bill Johnson's hair.
A bunch of roughnecks waving knives around would surely scare Bill Johnson, a middle-aged white man who's only half-baked on Wall Street, so much so that his legs would go weak.
He made up his mind to undergo the experiment to become Mutants, hoping to gain a super powerful ability so that he could walk with an imposing presence. Who knew that he would end up with a head of nonsensical hair, and in the end, he would still be a lowly nobody.
Unable to stand by and watch any longer, Magneto sent all the knives flying into the air, circling around Bill Johnson and expanding their range. In this way, he pushed away the despicable group of onlookers.
"Enough! Let our compatriot catch his breath. He hasn't adjusted to all this yet, and are you sure this is all he's capable of?"
Magneto's words finally quieted down the other Mutants, stopping them from making a ruckus. Although his words were mostly comforting.
Perhaps Bill Johnson would feel that his abilities still have potential for development.
But those who can infiltrate the Brotherhood of Mutants at least seasoned street thugs, and they can even make a living in prison. And these guys aren't new to Mutants; how could they not know that developing their abilities isn't so easy?
Why can't Mutants unite as one? If there were a drug to cancel mutant abilities, the number of Mutants who would want to revert to normal would probably be far greater than the number who would want to remain Mutants.
It's not that these Mutants are afraid their abilities will harm their families or loved ones. While this group does exist, they are extremely small.
The real thought on everyone's mind is that they despise their own weak abilities, which, apart from adding trouble to daily life and being looked down upon by outsiders, are of no help at all, so they would rather give up.
For example, Bill Johnson's hair, which changes color depending on his mood, is clearly a useless ability. So the commotion wasn't really malicious; people just wanted to help their new comrade get over it...
Now that the commotion is over, it's time to get down to business.
Those not involved in the experiment were ushered out of the makeshift medical room, and the man in Black Super began examining Bill Johnson. However, this middle-aged, disillusioned man's anxieties were far more severe than before he resolved to become Mutants.
"Am I alright? What am I going to do now?"
While performing the examination, the Black Super said, "First of all, you look very healthy, with no discomfort or abnormal sweating. That's good."
"Don't worry about how to treat your hair problem for now. I suggest you observe it for about a month, not only to test your abilities but also to see if there are any additional complications. For example, --"
Black Super yanked a strand of Bill Johnson's hair down and made him yell.
"--Could your body hair, including your head, be linked to your lifespan? Could it be that if you pluck it all out, you'll die on the spot?"
Bill Johnson exclaimed in horror, "This can't happen! And you pulled out a single hair from my head!"
Black Super looked at the hair in his hand; it was the same bright purple color as Bill Johnson's hair, a color that represented panic. He said, "Interesting."
He then brought the hair close to the spot where he had pulled it out, and it seemed to come alive, swaying and burrowing back into its original place, back onto its original head. Black Super gently tugged at it, but found he couldn't pull it out anymore, so he didn't try to force it out.
Magneto, of course, also noticed this characteristic. He pondered silently, wondering how else such an ability could be used.
Black Super said, "In short, your only task right now is to maintain a normal routine and undergo medical observation. I need to make sure you don't suffer a genetic breakdown and lose your life. We'll talk about your new life in a month."
