The Mutants war ended with Wolverine successfully destroying the large conversion device.

Magneto served as the last line of defense, and his abilities perfectly countered Wolverine. The fact that Wolverine was able to seize the opportunity and succeed in one fell swoop only demonstrates the X-Men's exceptional combat awareness.

The core team of the X-Men has been honing their skills since the Battle of Egypt in 1983. Seventeen years of battles, both large and small, have honed their formidable combat instincts.

Although Wolverine has amnesia, he is a man who has survived the American Civil War, World War I, and World War II, and has been tempered in those meat grinder-like battlefields. Many times, he does not rely on rational judgment, but rather muscle memory determines his actions.

In contrast, among the members of the Brotherhood of Mutants, apart from Magneto, only a handful such as Sabretooth, Toad, and Mystique are truly skilled in combat, and they are not even able to coordinate effectively.

Other Mutants might be okay with using their abilities to bully unarmed civilians, but if the opponent is armed, there's a risk involved. Not to mention a battle-hardened team like the X-Men.

Nearly a hundred men were fighting against seven, and they were still routed. It's truly remarkable that Magneto, leading this rabble, remained loyal and steadfast.

No wonder those Mutants villains who are truly looking to cause trouble, not those fighting for ideals, are forming elite organizations like the Hellfire Club, not trying to recruit the Brotherhood of Mutants.

The Mutant Conversion Device was destroyed, Magneto was defeated. He still used his last strength to send a retreat signal to his fellow Brotherhood of Mutants, even though he himself was under close surveillance and unlikely to escape.

As soon as the signal was given, the Mutants scattered and fled in all directions.

It's not fair to blame the Brotherhood of Mutants for lacking discipline. Because everyone has different abilities, this method of breaking up the organization into smaller units is the best approach for them.

Moreover, at this stage, the X-Men only kept an eye on a few dangerous individuals. For example, Magneto was surrounded by several people, both to prevent him from causing trouble and to prevent the U.S. military from killing him.

Wolverine was only concerned with taking care of the girl who was strapped to the machine. Most of the other X-Men were also pretending to be busy, and no one helped to hunt down the escaped Brotherhood of Mutants members.

Only a limited number of U.S. military were chasing and capturing people in the dark; they also had to rescue friendly troops on the previously capsized ships, and did not devote all their resources to the capture.

In short, the sudden Mutants Civil War had come to an end. Henry glanced at Selene; her expression remained unchanged, without any resentment. She was simply chatting naturally with Catherine Hepburn.

Aren't you worried?

The question lingered in Henry's mind for a while before a voice responded.

Why worry?

Because they lost?

I wouldn't care if they all died.

Aren't you in cahoots with Magneto and his gang?

I just thought Magneto's idea was interesting, so I helped him. Whether he succeeds or not isn't that important to me.

Well, this mentality is also evident among the Eternals. A long life means being well-informed and knowledgeable. Temporary conflicts are the last thing these immortals would do.

Unless this matter conflicts with their core values or harms their fundamental interests, it's really hard to see them get worked up.

Having understood this, Henry didn't press the matter further. Since everyone was just watching the show, once it was over, the performance naturally ended. He couldn't very well feel unsatisfied and rush onto the stage to add his own embellishment.

Henry thought the matter was over. Judging from Magneto's situation, he would most likely be locked up in a special prison, Brotherhood of Mutants also quiet down for a while.

But the ringing of the doorbell the next morning indicated that the aftershocks were still spreading, and had even reached him, the alien in the guise of Mutants.

Henry, who answered the doorbell, assumed it was Selene, on the last day of her seven-day work week, and was about to make a few jokes. But when she opened the door, she was surprised to find a group of uniformed police officers, led by Chief Inspector George Stacy.

Henry paused for a moment, and then a policeman pulled out an arrest warrant and was about to speak.

George Stacy stopped her men and said, "Henry, someone has reported that you were involved in last night's Brotherhood of Mutants terrorist attack and fled the scene."

"My intuition tells me this has nothing to do with you, but we still need to follow procedures. We hope you can cooperate and come with us to the police station to give a statement."

George Stacy wasn't dealing with this young man for the first time, and he was well aware of the trouble he was in. Regarding his arrest, the veteran officer's intuition was that someone was trying to frame him.

Therefore, he insisted on leading the team himself. Although some people brought equipment designed to target Mutants, George Stacy did not intend to use it, but instead communicated with them in a friendly manner.

Hearing the commotion at the door, Catherine Hepburn, who was already up, called out from inside, "Henry, is that Selene at the door? Or has Maria Stark returned?"

The old lady who came out looked at the scene at the door, was taken aback at first, and then asked, "George, why are you at my house so early in the morning?"

Having already experienced the sharp tongue of this award-winning actress more than once, George Stacy smiled wryly and said, "Catherine, someone said Henry was involved in last night's terrorist attack on Liberty Island. I'm here to take Henry back to the station to clarify the situation."

"He was sitting in my living room last night, watching your ugly behavior on TV with me. Or do you think I have dementia and can't even tell if there's a living person sitting next to me?"

"Of course not, Catherine." George Stacy was somewhat overwhelmed, but he still explained, "It's just a formality. You should know Henry's identity."

"Yesterday's incident caused such a stir. If there were a clear alibi, we could take a formal statement, which would reduce the likelihood of future disputes. Remaining silent is not the best approach."

Henry, who was confident in his abilities, chimed in, "Yes, Kate. It's alright, I'll just go to the police station to give a statement, I'll be back soon."

The old woman, like a child, said petulantly, "But I'm hungry, and Kitty is hungry too. You don't want to come back and find Kitty gnawing on my old bones to fill her stomach, do you?"

Kitty, who was being scratched on the head, leaned close to Catherine Hepburn's feet and let out a soft but not loud shout. Some of the unprepared police officers were immediately startled.

Just then, there was movement in the stairwell. At the very end of the group of police officers, Selene, still dressed as an older woman, smiled and said, "Did I come at the wrong time?"

Should I let them leave on their own?

Selene suddenly transmitted her thoughts.

Henry shook his head imperceptibly, thinking to himself.

This is an instruction from the judicial system, not something these police officers can decide. Even if you send this group away, others will come.

Henry then said, "Selene, you're here. That's wonderful. I need to go to the police station with the officers. I'll leave Kate's matter to you." He then took off his apron and placed it on the cabinet in the entryway.

Catherine Hepburn, standing behind, seemed to relent. "Alright, child. I'll have a lawyer go over there. Until he arrives, you'd better watch your mouth and not spout nonsense like you usually do."

"Understood," Henry said with a smile.
