The process of entering the police station was quite courteous. Led by George Stacy, Henry wasn't even handcuffed.

In fact, just hearing Catherine Hepburn's testimony was enough to confirm Henry Brown's innocence. However, the necessary procedures and formalities still needed to be followed.

After all, Henry's case involved an arrest warrant applied for by the federal prosecutor and issued by the Court. Whether or not to release him is not a decision the police can make on a whim.

However, what happened next was something even George Stacy, a veteran police officer, could only say he had never seen anything like it in his entire life.

Before the person was even brought back to the police station, the prosecutor was already waiting. Even though their rights hadn't been declared and no testimony had been taken, the prosecutor seemed poised to initiate the initial court appearance procedure and petition the judge for their detention.

But in the interrogation room, before the prosecutor could even finish a coherent sentence, a prominent lawyer burst in and took the person away.

That lawyer is the top-tier lawyer for the Oscorp, with a 99% success rate and unlimited resources. Basically, seeing him means that the Oscorp is willing to pay any price to win the case.

As for why the win rate isn't 100%, it's because the remaining point usually ends with the plaintiff or defendant's accidental death. It depends on which side Oscorp is on, and then—

This infamous reputation made the prosecutor who saw the person immediately lose his nerve.

Before the senior lawyer could even leave, another lawyer arrived, claiming to represent Henry Brown. This one was brought in by Catherine Hepburn and had a very good reputation in the field of public prosecutors. At least he was someone who could distinguish right from wrong.

However, when two people are face to face and eye to eye, it's not a time for sports competition where friendship comes first and ranking second.

One is a ruthless lawyer who will stop at nothing to win; the other is a lawyer who believes in justice and fairness and insists on speaking out for the innocent. Neither of them respects the other, so naturally they won't have anything nice to say to each other.

Just as the verbal battle between the lawyers was about to escalate further, a third lawyer emerged, claiming to represent Henry Brown.

The elderly gentleman from Stark Industries' legal counsel team, a former federal prosecutor with a certain standing in the New York legal community, shut the two young men up immediately.

It's not that the United States judiciary places great emphasis on seniority or that seniority is insurmountable. Rather, this gentleman was a former federal prosecutor who had good relationships with many judges, including friends on the Supreme Court, and had extensive connections within the legal profession.

This person's connection with Stark Industries can be traced back to Howard Stark's generation. You could say he's Stark Industries ' heirloom, and he's only called upon for extremely important matters.

With things having progressed to this point, the young prosecutor dared not utter a word. There was no need to cite any legal provisions; just the fact that he was fighting three against one meant he'd be going home bruised and battered, and without even daring to fight back.

In the end, it was the old lawyer representing Stark Industries who decided to have Oscorp's lawyers handle the paperwork. The other two would consider their mission a success as long as their client was not unjustly harmed and could leave the police station unscathed.

The young lawyer Catherine Hepburn hired had no objection to this decision. He only had some personal ethical concerns about the person at Oscorp.

The old lawyer made this suggestion because, before entering the police station, he noticed a very expensive luxury car parked in the parking lot, with a very special person waiting inside.

As a legal advisor to Stark Industries, this veteran lawyer certainly possessed extensive knowledge. Especially having been part of this top-tier circle since the time of Howard Stark, he was confident he wouldn't mistake someone for someone else.

So this legal battle, a true clash of titans, quickly came to an end. The eager federal prosecutor almost lost his composure standing at the door, seeing Henry Brown off as he left.

Before leaving, the old lawyer simply nodded to the young man from the Oscorp and said, "Please give my regards to Mr. Osborn," before departing.

The other person did the same. After the formalities were completed and it was confirmed that he could leave, he also left.

Only the lawyer in charge of processing the paperwork politely said to Henry, "Mr. Brown, please come with me."

Although he didn't know what the other party was up to, he wasn't afraid of being set up and trapped under the Police Station's surveillance cameras. So Henry followed them.

As he settled into the back seat of a luxury car in the parking lot, Norman Osborn was already waiting inside. The tycoon immediately said, "Perhaps I should have waited patiently; then I could have acquired what you had at a lower cost."

Henry understood what the other person meant, and he smiled and retorted gently, "In that case, the world's medical technology will advance by leaps and bounds."

"Oh, don't you think I have the ability to take it all for myself?"

"I believe that others, once they've taken a bite, certainly wouldn't spit it out easily. So Mr. Osborn's so-called smaller cost is going to become a joke."

"So, if you were inside, you'd quickly give in, wouldn't you?"

Henry laughed, "Haha, Mr. Osborn, you're joking. For a nobody like me, what other way out is there if I don't choose to submit? So this kind of thing is bound to happen."

"Once I'm no longer of any value, no one will bother me. That Reason, right? After all, it would take a considerable amount of effort to kill me for no reason."

Norman Osborn didn't dwell on such petty thoughts, but instead brought up the old topic again. "A multi-million dollar annual salary, a car and a house provided. If you have any other requests, feel free to mention them. Including wanting a particular female celebrity isn't difficult either."

"Because I feel you possess more of what I desire. What If...? I'm wrong, your brilliant mind should be capable of creating even greater value. I have several highly valuable projects awaiting breakthroughs."

Henry deflected the question by saying, "Well, that really puts me in a difficult position, sir. What If...? you knew my upbringing, you would know that I am an orphan with no inheritance to my name."

"The only thing I can rely on is my somewhat clever mind. But without that flash of inspiration that Edison mentioned, I wouldn't be able to come up with anything."

"Unless you offer me a multi-million dollar annual salary and are willing to accept a situation where I produce no results, I think saving the trouble of going to Court later would be a better outcome."

Henry's account is similar to the information Norman Osborn later obtained through connections. If he did leave any legacy after coming to Earth, it was probably plundered by the former Red Empire.

Moreover, he grew up in the research institute environment from infancy and did not have any opportunity to receive education.

Therefore, Norman Osborn was also skeptical that this was knowledge that alien babies possessed.

Another major reason is that the results he presented were basically still within the scope of what Earth's knowledge can deduce, rather than some new knowledge system appearing out of thin air.

A plausible explanation is that this alien possesses an exceptionally intelligent mind, capable of excelling in various fields.

Unfortunately, previous instances of forcing him to cooperate had all ended badly. Therefore, Norman Osborn had no intention of repeating the same mistake and pushing this genius to a position of hostility.

If killing him were an option, Norman Osborn might have seriously considered it. Unfortunately, his invulnerability made even the thought seem laughable.

Finally, Norman Osborn said, "My terms are in effect forever. What If...? you want to contact me, just call Oscorp." He glanced at Henry and asked, "Do you need me to take you back?"

This means to see the guest off.

Henry smiled and declined. "No, Mr. Osborn is a very busy man. I'll just hail a taxi and go home myself. I'll remember your kindness in coming to help me today."
