Counterattack

As soon as the gunfire stopped, and the sound of magazines being changed could be heard, Tony Stark, as if possessed by a war god, slipped out from the side of the cabinet. At the same time, he fired repeatedly at the gunmen who had entered the villa, holding his gun in one hand.

Although he really wanted to continue playing dead, the other guy rushed out with the luck of a protagonist-level superhero, so Henry couldn't keep hiding any longer.

A favor is a favor earned through shared life-and-death experiences; it's not easy to find an opportunity to get someone of that caliber to owe you one under normal circumstances.

Besides, if Tony were to grumble here, who knows if Old Man Stark would fly into a rage and have everyone involved in the incident at the villa cleaned up?

Those with money and power might be able to buy their own lives; but for someone like me, without power or influence, the only option is to rely on superpowers to escape and live a life of crime.

The time it took to weigh the pros and cons was only a moment; just as Tony rushed out, Henry stood up from behind the cupboard!

Every time the Stark Family scion fired a shot, Henry would check if Tony's bullet would hit the target. If it did, he would shoot the person who wasn't being targeted; if it didn't, he would fire a follow-up shot.

It sounds surreal, but given the Kryptonian ' reaction and thought processes, it's a piece of cake.

Henry's body seemed to have a regulator; the more focused he was, the faster he reacted. He could not only think about more things, but also function normally in this area... "relatively speaking."

To outsiders, Henry seemed to have entered some kind of superhuman speed realm; but to him, the world seemed to have almost come to a standstill.

Previously, when he worked part-time as a stuntman or action actor, this ability allowed him to safely perform many moves that others considered difficult. Therefore, this was not a last-minute effort.

Nowadays, to rely on this ability to shoot someone, hitting the bullseye is the bare minimum; it's impossible for others to hit him, no matter how skilled a sharpshooter is.

Actually, with his Super Speed, Henry could punch someone in the head and then withstand bullets with his body. But he didn't want to reveal his superpowers; cheating with his reaction speed already put him in an invincible position.

It's said that one should keep a low profile, so Henry certainly couldn't and didn't need to use his full set of superpowers on these non-threatening ordinary people. And to avoid revealing his super reaction speed, he had to rely entirely on acting skills.

This is a true transmission from Superman. The difference between Superman and Clark Kent isn't just a suit and a pair of glasses.

One of the defining characteristics of reporter Clark Kent is his clumsiness. Most people who know both Superman and Clark Kent would find it hard to imagine that this awkward reporter could transform into a god-like figure like Superman once he dons the suit.

If Superman's human form hadn't been a reporter but an actor, he'd be an Oscar-worthy performer. Henry knows this all too well.

In practical terms, this meant that every time Tony Stark fired a shot, Henry would slowly follow up with one or two shots. Then, he would deliberately empty his own gun before teaming up with Tony to take down all the gunmen who entered through the villa's main entrance.

Although not every shot was fatal, the fact that two people and two pistols took down six enemies is considered an extraordinary feat by ordinary standards.

Tony Stark seemed to think he had taken down all the enemies, one shot at a time, so he gave Henry a defiant look.

To be fair, Master Stark's pistol accuracy was quite high. At a distance of about ten meters, he hit four out of six shots, with two of them being fatal, so he still had reason to be proud.

Henry flicked open the empty gun from its holster, gave the proud young master a look, and then went to check on the fallen gunman.

They didn't finish them off one by one, but at least they had to be disarmed to prevent someone from coming back from hiding and shooting them in the back. Henry even picked up a pistol and fiddled with it.

Tony, who had walked over, looked at Henry's clumsy movements and asked with a dark expression, "What are you doing?"

"I'm trying to figure out how to remove the magazine and check the remaining ammunition."

Tony pointed to the latch on the grip and said, "Press here, and the magazine will eject."

As instructed, Henry pressed the latch, and the pistol's magazine popped out. But his other hand wasn't positioned under the grip to catch the magazine.

So when the bullet hit, he scrambled to grab the magazine. Luckily, it didn't fall to the ground.

Even the action of putting it back in took two tries before it finally locked into place. The same thing happened when pulling the holster to chamber a round.

After completing the entire procedure, Henry finally assumed the gun-holding position. Throughout this, Tony Stark watched with a dark expression and rolled his eyes, reluctantly reminding him, "Your safety isn't on."

"Oh." Henry looked around to locate the safety. As for the switch, there were markings on the gun, so there was no need to ask again.

Unable to contain himself any longer, Tony Stark finally asked, "Have you ever used a gun?"

Henry hesitated slightly before saying, "Um... this is my first time." This was the truth. Considering his experiences before transmigrating, Henry had only ever seen guns on television and in movies; this was the first time he had ever handled a real gun.

Even back in Alaska, Henry never played with John's shotgun.

However, Henry's blunt truth made Tony Stark's face darken, and he stopped looking at this seemingly unreliable comrade.

If it weren't for the fact that this person could also be used to distract the enemy, he really wouldn't want to act with this guy.

Tony Stark grabbed a pistol and tucked it into his back pocket, then picked up a long gun, not forgetting to remove the magazine and weigh it in his hand to make sure he had enough ammunition.

As for the spears, he didn't let Henry take one either. These captured spears were all new, and their construction and operation were relatively complex.

Furthermore, rifles are not ideal for indoor use, so to avoid being shot in the back, unreliable comrades should just carry pistols.

Those who were still breathing and groaning on the ground were promptly knocked unconscious by Tony Stark with a clean kiss on the butt of his rifle.

Seeing Tony Stark's restless movements, glancing around and listening for gunshots coming from other places, it was clear that this man had no intention of obediently holding his ground and waiting for reinforcements.

Henry said, "Their target isn't you, it's that Josh Hill guy. Are you still going to fight them? Didn't you say reinforcements would be here in twenty minutes?"

"How can you be sure they won't kill everyone here to silence us? If we don't fight back while things are in disarray, we'll become lambs to the slaughter once they gain control. With their equipment, I doubt anyone else could last even twenty minutes."

Tony glanced at Henry and said, "If you're scared, you don't have to come along."

The Kryptonian were speechless.
