Henry had already used his Super Hearing to confirm that three cars had collided up ahead, blocking the entire road.
They happened to be stuck on the bridge, in an awkward position with nowhere to go. They could not reverse and take another route because a long line of cars was jammed behind them as well. Nor could they move forward and bypass the crashed vehicles. All they could do was wait obediently for the police to clear the accident and restore traffic.
It was not that Skye did not believe Henry's explanation. It was just that something in her bloodline had awakened, making her want to see what had happened. So she rolled down the window by hand and craned her neck outside. She even wanted to unfasten her seat belt and go take a look.
"Sit still. We're on a bridge. If you get hit and die, even the insurance won't pay out."
