Early life

Born as Mary Sue Poots, Skye was registered at St. Agnes Orphanage in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. She repeatedly ran away from foster homes and eventually survived in New York’s Sewer World. She rejected the orphanage-assigned name “Mary Sue,” which she considered humiliating, and chose Skye to preserve her deceased friend’s memory 673. Henry later created a legal identity for her so that she could attend public school as a distant relative of Katharine Hepburn 674.

Education and hacking

Skye initially treated school as unnecessary, believing that her survival experience and self-taught knowledge were enough. Her inability to solve Henry’s advanced mathematics and physics questions exposed major gaps in her education, and Gwen Stacy became her tutor 674.

Her bedroom became an electronics workshop filled with scavenged components, technical books, notes, and a computer assembled from scrapyard parts. Skye practiced on the Dark Web, where she exchanged techniques with other hackers and developed defensive awareness after encountering viruses, worms, and Trojan programs. She repeatedly tried to map Henry’s network, but he changed its firewall architecture whenever she revealed a route into it 678.

Gwen also persuaded her to study language arts by explaining that literary analysis and rhetoric could help her understand and counter Henry’s elaborate insults. Using Henry’s own book, Love from a Different Culture, as lesson material helped overcome Skye’s resistance 676.

Although she progressed rapidly in technical subjects, she confused exposure to information with mastery. Found family and independence

Skye gradually formed strong bonds with Henry’s circle, especially during the Aegean vacation. More than the resort’s luxury, she valued having adults willing to play, prank Henry, and treat her as a companion rather than a burden 750.

Her attachment to the Hepburn household had already begun replacing her desire to escape. During a stay with Katharine’s extended family in Connecticut, she enjoyed the family’s warmth, and her arguments with Henry increasingly reflected defiance rather than a genuine wish to leave 699. Eventually, both she and Henry came to regard the household as a home and a place of security, with Katharine’s care central to that change 867.

After witnessing the vast difference between Henry and Gilgamesh in combat, Skye abandoned her plan to surpass Henry through raw strength. She instead focused more intensely on technology while accepting Thena as a combat instructor 752.

The 3F Club

Using a share of criminal assets liquidated after Ezekiel Sims’ disappearance, Skye founded the 3F Club, short for “Find Fing Father Club.”* The organization assists children and families separated from parents through deportation, poverty, and institutional failure 925.

Her assistance included hacking government and related departmental computers to look for information about biological parents. When older records existed only on paper, she could often do little more than tell families where to investigate. Limited funds, restrictions on her travel, state laws, and the difficulty of having children conduct investigations all constrained the club’s work 926.

Henry discovered Skye’s association with Lorna Dane after Katharine asked him to investigate her unusual behavior. He followed them through a day of outings in New York, during which Skye paid their expenses, and confronted them at Lorna’s motel. West Coast journey and her friend’s soul

Skye and Lorna sought permission to travel to California so that Skye could visit her deceased friend’s grave in Joshua Tree National Park. Rather than allowing them to travel alone, Henry proposed a family RV trip with Katharine and Kitty, which Katharine eagerly approved 986.

During the journey, Skye asked to learn to drive, and Quicksilver offered to teach her despite Henry’s objections 999. She became more confident behind the wheel as the group traveled west. When a tire blowout caused the RV to skid on Interstate 80 in Nevada, Quicksilver took over and stopped it safely. Henry determined that a nail had punctured the tire and reassured Skye that the accident was not her fault 1007.

After learning that her friend’s soul was imprisoned in a coin following a deal with a demon, Skye considered making another bargain to free her. Henry warned her against trying to outwit the demon and promised to attempt a solution without guaranteeing success. Skye accepted that they would work on the problem together, while Henry also cautioned against her suggestion of binding her friend permanently to an object such as a doll 1014.

Supernatural encounters

An emergency involving Skye, Gwen, and Lorna at a nightclub brought Henry to their location near Hell’s Kitchen. Skye’s monitoring device detected abnormal environmental conditions rather than simply physical danger; Henry had designed it to help prevent an unexpected Inhuman awakening through exposure to unusual substances 1061.

During the confrontation with vampires, Skye tugged Henry’s coat to draw him back from escalating the situation, reminding him of the people he needed to protect 1063. Afterward, Henry decided to obtain Terrigen Crystals in preparation for a possible awakening and allowed Skye to stay overnight with Lorna 1067.

Symbiote crisis and Terrigenesis

Skye acted alone to test Anya Corazon’s ultrasonic anti-Symbiote device against a fourth target. Instead of fleeing, the purple Symbiote entered her body, possessed her, and used her life force to fuel bursts of super-speed 1199 1201.

Henry, Quicksilver, Gilgamesh, and Thena trapped the creature through a coordinated ambush involving Capture Balls, an Isu Shield, and ultrasonic frequencies. The Symbiote detached from Skye but left her with severe multiple-organ failure 1201 1202.

With conventional medicine unable to save her, Henry used a Kree-made Terrigen Crystal inside a sealed medical pod. The resulting Terrigenesis restored her body and awakened her Inhuman nature, though her power remained unknown immediately after the procedure 1214 1216.

Her ability soon manifested as uncontrolled vibrational force. The recoil fractured both hands and arms, leaving her dependent on others for daily care while Henry and Lorna considered suppression technology and possible backlash-absorbing bracers 1220 1221.

After more than four weeks, Skye’s fractures had healed and her casts were removed at the hospital. Natalie Rushman’s temporary work as her caregiver then ended, while Henry insisted that Skye return to school for her final exams 1259. Skye later trained in secret with a Power Suppression Device Henry had made.
