The father they couldn't meet

Henry had originally planned to put the newly reunited siblings up at a hotel so they could have a proper talk once Lorna Dane's aunt arrived in New York. Separate rooms, of course. Otherwise, even if they were related by blood, a forty-seven-year-old man and a fifteen-year-old girl would feel awkward sharing a room.

Neither of them agreed to that arrangement, however. Quicksilver went to the twelfth floor in the Tribeca District; there were plenty of sleeping bags anyway. Lorna Dane squeezed into Skye's room to make do for the night.

Lorin Dane, Lorna's aunt, wouldn't arrive until the day after tomorrow. So, on the day after the test results came back, Quicksilver practically glued himself to the tomboy's side, determined to bond with his new little sister.

It was also summer vacation, so Skye didn't have school. With her joining them, the old lady's tiger-walking outing set off with an impressive lineup of five people and one tiger.

Lorna Dane naturally didn't feel comfortable around the huge beast. This was only her second day seeing Kitty. Quicksilver, however, was having the time of his life. His favorite game was to reach out and tease Kitty into biting him, then use Super Speed to dodge her jaws again and again!

At first, the angry "Tabby Cat" tried to pounce on the man. But after he dodged her a few times, she lost interest. She let him poke her here and tug at her there.

Seeing Kitty give up and resign herself to it, the trouble-loving Quicksilver naturally took things further. He pulled her whiskers, touched her rump, and even pinched the tiger's privates.

In response, Kitty unhesitatingly let loose a stream of tiger urine!
