Background / History

Creation and life on the moon

Chang'e is introduced as the first human personally created by Nüwa—a human test subject who existed before others of her kind appeared. She lived in the Moon Palace with Jade Rabbit, isolated from the wider Primordial World. Nüwa created a lunar cultivation technique to help her grow stronger and protect herself 4 9 13.

Her isolation left her lonely and depressed. When Ye Tian connected their destinies through the Marriage Book, the system reported that the bond gave her something to care about and raised her favorability to 40 points 4.

Marriage to Ye Tian

Ye Tian deliberately chose Chang'e as his first red-thread partner because her lunar technique and the Moon Laurel Tree could accelerate his early growth. Chang'e did not know that he had already bound their destinies when she sensed her future husband approaching along the Star Road 4 9.

Her Affinity reached 80 upon their meeting, then rose to 100 as Ye Tian described his supposed longing for her and the dangers he had overcome to reach the moon. Their marriage was formally established, and the subsequent world announcement identified Ye Tian as the first player to win over a Primordial Beauty 10 11.

Chang'e gave him her lunar treasures and cultivation technique, then accompanied him away from the moon. Her first encounter with the Dragon–Qilin war shocked her: her secluded life had left her unaware of the world's racial conflicts 12 13 14 15.

Reunion with Nüwa

Nüwa later welcomed Chang'e as her sister, explicitly acknowledging her as the first person she had created. Chang'e was moved to tears and thanked Ye Tian for making their reunion possible 82.

True-body revelation

In Black Iron City, Ye Tian's group met Chang'e's true body and learned that the Chang'e accompanying him was a clone whose memories had been sealed. The true body explained that those memories could now be unlocked 454.

She had managed Black Iron City for at least 500,000 years. Rather than describing that period as tedious, she said that her husband's goals had sustained her. She supplied the group with resources sufficient to support cultivation up to the Heavenly Dao Stage and sent them onward; they arrived in the Chaotic Demon Star Region rather than a Ten Thousand Worlds city 454.

Appearance

• Wears white clothing and has an ethereal, immortal-like appearance 9 14.
• Possesses an aura that transcends ordinary humans, attributed to her long residence in the Moon Palace 43.

Personality

Chang'e begins as sheltered and inexperienced. She becomes distracted and flustered when she senses her destined partner approaching, and she readily believes Ye Tian's account of his devotion. Learning about his battles makes her feel concern and pity for him 9 10.

She is affectionate and eager to support her husband, insisting on joining him in combat and giving him valuable possessions without conditions. She also accepts his marriage to Little Dragon Girl and helps maintain a harmonious household 12 13 16 23 29.

Her kindness extends to teaching: she warmly welcomes the frightened Nine-tailed Fox and promises to guide her cultivation. Her true body displays a contrasting depth of patience and resolve through her centuries-long commitment to Black Iron City 43 454.
