As they ventured deeper into the rocky mountains, Metagross's location was quickly Lock-On. After all, Yu Hai had a Pokémon radar with him; detecting a Metagross with at least Elite-class strength was quite easy.
He and Jiro arrived at the edge of a cliff. The terrain there was treacherous, surrounded by jagged rocks. The ground beneath their feet was uneven, creaking whenever they stepped on it. Frigid mountain winds howled across the precipice, making their clothes flap loudly.
Lucario stood at the cliff's edge. After carefully sensing the area, it told him that the Shiny Metagross was down in the canyon. Yu Hai immediately called out, "Lucario, communicate with it through Aura..."
"Lucario, Lucario." Lucario narrowed its eyes slightly as a soft Aura glow spread around its body, attempting to transmit a message to Metagross through Aura.
However, a long time passed, and every message vanished without a trace. Metagross ignored them and did not emerge to attack them.
That was nothing like Metagross's behavior in the anime. It had probably sensed that the newcomers were too strong, so it was hiding and refusing to come out.
"Then provoke it with Aura." Seeing Lucario shake its head, Yu Hai refused to believe it.
The Shiny Metagross in the anime had not been so well-behaved. Jiro had only provoked it a little, and it had charged out furiously. Yet now, before him, it was actually hiding.
Had he become so strong that he was surrounded by powerful Pokémon and only encountered good Pokémon now? Were there no longer any Pokémon blocking his path and challenging him to battle?
"Lucario, Lucario." Lucario shook its head again. It found that even provoking Metagross was useless. Even insulting it had no effect at all. Metagross simply kept hiding, and Lucario truly had no solution.
