Background / History

Jun Wushang is the second young master of Marquis Huaiyuan's Manor. Because his mother was a maid, he and his mother were treated little better than servants within the manor. Wei Qing's original self helped the pair leave, after which Jun Wushang entered the Heavenly Realm Division and rose through his own efforts. Marquis Huaiyuan later attempted to acknowledge him, but Jun Wushang refused. 1

He became Wei Qing's childhood friend and closest confidant. When Wei Qing was believed dead, Jun Wushang came to recover his body, threatened Zhao Chuan with his Garrison Commander saber, and was overjoyed to find Wei Qing alive. 1

Jun Wushang became the first formal Garrison Commander of his cohort through persistence and repeated life-or-death fighting. His reputation within the division rests on grit rather than noble family backing. 15

Personality

Jun Wushang is intensely warlike. His first instincts are to fight, slay demons, and seek stronger opponents, and Wei Qing describes him as someone who fights without regard for his own life. 15

His aggression is tempered by loyalty and protectiveness. He readily backs Wei Qing's decisions, protects Zhang Xue during the City God Temple operation and in the Black Mist Wasteland, and stands with Wei Qing against Wei Zheng's family and the Third Prince's interference. 20 23 29 50

Outside combat, he is impulsive and easily flustered. He intended to end his arranged engagement peacefully, only to reveal his plan directly before Zhang Xue and her father; after being beaten by Zhang Xue, he surrendered and abandoned his attempt to break it off. 16 17

Wei Qing's Return

Jun Wushang arrives at Wei Manor to retrieve Wei Qing's presumed corpse. Finding him alive, he immediately reunites with him and supports Wei Qing's harsher approach toward the Wei family. 1 2

Qingcheng and the Broken Engagement

He delivers Wei Qing's official documents in Qingcheng, then reveals that he has come to end his childhood engagement to Zhang Xue. His plan collapses when Zhang Zhidong and Zhang Xue overhear him; Zhang Xue defeats him in a duel, ending the immediate attempt to dissolve the engagement. 15 16 17

City God Temple Operation

Jun Wushang joins Wei Qing's operation against the Ghost Corpse Sect at the City God Temple. He is assigned to protect Zhang Xue and is injured while shielding her during the battle against Tao Kun's forces. 20 21 23

Black Mist Wasteland Expedition

He accompanies Wei Qing and Zhang Xue into the Black Mist Wasteland in search of the exotic treasure. He guards Zhang Xue against the living black fog, condemns Zhao Gao's cowardice, follows Wei Qing's leadership through the ruins of the Cloud Firmament Sect, and gains enough from the expedition to reach Seventh-rank Intermediate. 28 29 32 36

Return to the Capital

After returning from Qingcheng, Jun Wushang travels to the Imperial City with Wei Qing and Zhang Xue. He is promoted to Imperial-rank Garrison Commander for his performance in Qingcheng and receives cultivation resources and further training plans. 42 47 48

Wei Manor Conflict

Jun Wushang supports Wei Qing during the confrontation with Wei Zheng's family and the Third Prince. He threatens Wei Zheng's family against taking Wei Yuan and Wei Qing's property as they leave the manor. 50
