"Nice to meet you. I'm Uchiha Mikoto, and I'm happy to meet you!" Mikoto greeted Kushina first.

"Same here. I'm Uzumaki Kushina. Just call me Kushina." Kushina curled her lip.

On the surface, Mikoto seemed generous and adorable, the kind of girl anyone would like at first sight. But Kushina's face was dark now; one look told anyone she was in a bad mood.

Kushina shot Hyuga Matsuba a glare, packed up her bag, and went to sit with Uzumaki Tomoko at the back of the classroom.

Hyuga Matsuba felt utterly helpless. He hadn't even done anything to her. Could it be that after spending such a short time together, she had already fallen for him?

"Anything is possible." He suddenly remembered his earlier Lottery experience—the ability that could increase the opposite sex's favorability. Hyuga Matsuba rubbed his nose.

"Yo, is your harem on fire?" Seeing the situation, Nawaki ran over, patted Hyuga Matsuba on the back, and wore an expression of eager anticipation.

Bang!

Hyuga Matsuba immediately went over and slapped Nawaki. Just from the sound, one could tell how painfully satisfying it had been. Nawaki cried until his face was covered in tears and snot.

"Are you the Pacific's police or something? Why are you sticking your nose in everything?" Hyuga Matsuba cursed.

Nawaki opened his mouth to keep yammering, but Hyuga Matsuba raised his foot as if he were about to hit him again.

Nawaki immediately behaved himself, covering his face as he crawled back to the classroom. The handprint on his face was glaringly obvious.

"My sister Tsunade asked to see you about something. Saturday morning at ten. Go wait at the village's designated Training Ground." Nawaki tossed out those words before leaving. That slap had hurt like hell.

"Your sister?" Hyuga Matsuba hadn't expected that, but he agreed anyway. He had nothing else to do, and Tsunade was fairly busy. It seemed they hadn't seen each other in quite a while.

Uzumaki Kushina, pretending to sleep, accidentally learned this news and quietly committed it to memory.

Then several students came in, all covered in bruises. They looked like they had suffered school violence, and every one of them looked at Kushina with fear and trembling.

Looking at those people, Hyuga Matsuba nearly laughed out loud. It seemed Kushina hadn't been joking.

Teacher Ueno arrived soon afterward and came over to ask the students what had happened. But everyone claimed they had gotten hurt by accident, unwilling to admit they had been beaten like this by a little girl.

The teacher had a vague idea of what had happened, but he didn't press them further. He prepared to teach new material, while Hyuga Matsuba broke from his usual habits and sat upright to listen.

The reason was that the teacher was going to teach them how to set traps. This was nothing but useful knowledge and would definitely come in handy later.

The teacher found this very surprising. Hyuga Matsuba, who had never listened seriously in class before, wasn't lying on his desk asleep now. That practically counted as a miracle.

The material was simple and was finished before long. After lunch, the afternoon was still practical class. Hyuga Matsuba did as usual, chose to train by himself, then lay down again. It was another boring day.

The short weekend break arrived quickly. Hyuga Matsuba woke up early, relaxed for a bit, then went to get something to eat and fill his stomach.

"Let's go. That big-breasted cow Tsunade asked to see me, and I have no idea what she wants."

"If Tsunade knew you were talking about her behind her back like that, her temper would shoot right up. She'd definitely make you pay for it." Mikoto gloated at the side.

"After all the good things I've done for you, you're actually cursing me like this!" Hyuga Matsuba felt wronged. Mikoto had changed so much.

"My sister didn't say I could come. Can I go with you?"

"What does it matter?" Hyuga Matsuba directly took Mikoto's hand and pulled her out of the house.

The two bickered and played around along the way. By the time they reached the meeting place, they were already late. Hyuga Matsuba looked around but didn't see Tsunade anywhere.

However, he spotted what seemed to be a figure in the distance. He picked up a small stone and threw it at the figure.

"Mm!"

Kushina, hiding in a tree, cried out in pain before she could stop herself. Her foot slipped, and she was about to fall from the branch.

The trees in this world were truly enormous; some were so tall that one couldn't even see how high they reached. To hide herself completely, Kushina had deliberately picked one of the tallest.

Thinking that she was about to fall and would surely be badly hurt, Kushina suddenly felt that she was doomed.

"Fuck, this is bad!" Hyuga Matsuba hadn't expected it. He activated the Glint-Glint Fruit, transformed his body into a beam of light, and used Instant Movement to reach the base of the tree and catch Kushina.

Kushina had already prepared herself for broken bones, but unexpectedly, she felt as light as a feather, as if she had landed on something soft.

Kushina fearfully opened her eyes and discovered that she was in Hyuga Matsuba's arms. A sudden rush of emotion and grievance welled up inside her, and tears began streaming down her face.

"Whoa, why are you crying? I really didn't do it on purpose! I didn't know it was you over there! It's all my fault, okay? Don't cry, little princess. I really know I was wrong!"

Kushina sobbed in his arms, leaving Hyuga Matsuba at a complete loss. Before his transmigration, he hadn't had a girlfriend either. Whenever he saw a girl cry, his head started to hurt.

Hyuga Matsuba slowly set Kushina down, but she kept crying. He couldn't stand or sit comfortably and truly had no idea what to do.

Mikoto arrived at this moment and anxiously asked, "Are you okay?"

"She's not hurt, but I think she got scared into crying." Hyuga Matsuba pursed his lips. He regretted throwing that stone at Kushina. If he hadn't acted on that mischievous impulse, this little girl wouldn't have cried like this.

Mikoto shot Hyuga Matsuba a reproachful glance, then gently patted Kushina's back.

When Kushina noticed Mikoto had arrived, she forced back her tears. She didn't want her "love rival" to see her crying like this.

After a long while, Tsunade finally appeared. Her arrival at least eased the awkwardness of the scene.

"What are you all doing?" Tsunade noticed Kushina, still crying and curled up like a hedgehog.

Hyuga Matsuba scratched his head.

"Kushina, tell your sister the truth. Did someone bully you? I'm here—I'll avenge you!" Tsunade glared, about to lose her temper at Hyuga Matsuba.

Kushina was a relative from Tsunade's grandmother's side of the family, and Tsunade had watched her grow up since childhood. She had even brought Kushina and another little girl here before. Kushina had been so pitiful since she was little, so Tsunade would naturally protect her.

"It's nothing. No one bullied me, so don't worry about me, Sister." Kushina stopped sniffling and secretly glanced at Hyuga Matsuba.

After leaving Hyuga Matsuba's arms, Kushina suddenly felt as though something was missing. When he had held her just now, she had felt especially at ease, finding a sense of security.

Since coming to this village, it was the first time she had felt such comfort and safety. Now that she was standing by herself, her heart felt empty.

"Tsunade, you asked to see me?" Hyuga Matsuba tried to ease the atmosphere.

"Can't I ask you out to have some fun? Or have you forgotten your sister now that you have a girlfriend?"

Hyuga Matsuba awkwardly didn't know what to say. The atmosphere was getting stranger and stranger.

When Mikoto heard Tsunade say that, her face turned as red as the sun.

"Sister, I'm not his girlfriend! Don't misunderstand!" Kushina hurried to explain.

"Tch, don't lie to me. My little brother told me about it a few days ago. He even tattled on you." Tsunade snorted. Who would have thought Hyuga Matsuba was such a ladies' man?
