Background
Tang Xuan was an Earthling reading a novel when he transmigrated into the Primordial Era and became an immense river. After initially panicking, he accepted his condition upon discovering that his river body could instinctively absorb and refine spiritual energy. 1
A mysterious system gave him a mission tied to the Dragon-Han Calamity. Rather than obeying it blindly, Tang Xuan chose to refine it for himself and use its Wish Origin as the foundation of his growth. He established the Great Dao of Water as his cultivation base and the Dao of Wishes as the means to alter others' fates and gain feedback. 1 2
Tang Xuan’s early strategy combined absorbing rivers to expand his true body with “developing customers”: powerful figures whose altered destinies would generate Wish Origin. His first major contact was Ancestral Dragon, whom he warned that the Three Tribes could not truly rule the Primordial Era because the Dragon-Han Calamity was fundamentally a Dao-Demon Conflict centered on Hongjun and Luohu. 2 3 6
He spent immense amounts of Wish Origin and one hundred million years deducing the Great Dao divine ability Foreknowledge of the Future. Armed with future knowledge, Tang Xuan guided Ancestral Dragon, Yuan Feng, Shi Qilin, and Luohu into a staged conflict meant to overturn Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao’s plans. 12 14 16
After annexing the East Sea and making it part of his true body, Tang Xuan openly entered the Dragon-Han Calamity. He freed Five Elements, Yin-Yang, and Qiankun Ancestor from Hongjun’s restrictions, changed the calamity’s outcome, and became known throughout the Primordial Continent as the River God. 20 21 22
Having secured a vast supply of Wish Origin, treasures, followers, and territory, Tang Xuan expanded beyond the Great Dao of Water. He began advancing through river statuses, gathering treasures and Daos into himself while encouraging Primordial powerhouses to develop distinct cultivation systems. His stated ambition became to serve as the origin and ancestor of all paths, eventually transforming the Primordial Era into a true mythological world. 36 40 45 46
Appearance
After attaining Great Luo Golden Immortal, Tang Xuan can manifest as a slender man in pale-blue robes. His bearing is described as both integrated with heaven and earth and detached from it, with an aura difficult to measure. 2
- Waist-length black hair. 2
- Sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes. 2
- Pale-blue robe and slender build. 2
- His true form is an immense river; after annexing the East Sea, the sea itself became part of that body. 1 20
- His manifestations are often accompanied by river phantoms, Dao runes, divine light, mist, and time-related phenomena. 14 21
Personality
Tang Xuan is cautious, pragmatic, and deeply opposed to risking his life for spectacle. He prefers steady development, expanding his river body and cultivating powerful “customers” simultaneously rather than gambling on reckless confrontations. 2 4
He is also highly theatrical when intimidation is useful. Tang Xuan knowingly uses extravagant phenomena and Wish Origin-generated effects to make his opponents overestimate him, considering the impact worthwhile even when the display is largely decorative. 21 39 141
His long-term plans are ambitious and manipulative. Tang Xuan treats conflicts, cultivation systems, and even the Gate of Taboo as opportunities to generate Wish Origin and strengthen the Primordial Era under his influence. 43 45 97
Abilities & Skills
River True Body and Annexation
Tang Xuan expands his existence by binding and assimilating rivers, seas, water veins, and eventually areas of Chaos into his true body.

- Annexed the entire East Sea, making it his true body and using the feat to attain the Chaos Golden Immortal realm. 20
- Within the range covered by his main body, he is the absolute ruler of the environment. 52
- His broad territorial foundation makes him effectively indestructible unless the East Sea and its tributaries are destroyed. 21
Wish Origin and Dao of Wishes
Wish Origin is Tang Xuan’s principal resource. It can evolve abilities, strengthen comprehension, alter fate, create effects, and convert wishes or changed destinies into power. 2 12 45
- Gains feedback when the life trajectories and karma of major beings are changed. 2 11 23
- Used it to improve his comprehension rather than directly purchasing a single divine ability, maximizing later deductions. 12
- Can erase restrictions, create convincing illusions, and produce intimidating phenomena with comparatively little expenditure. 21 141
- Its nature is described as making fantasy real and rewriting underlying logic beyond the ordinary Wish Dao. 45
Foreknowledge of the Future
A Great Dao-level divine ability personally deduced by Tang Xuan through enhanced comprehension and nearly one million strands of Wish Origin. 12 14
- Allows him to observe possible future branches across countless timelines, subject to his cultivation. 14
- Ignores ordinary concealment and shielding of Heavenly Secrets. 14
- Lets him conceal himself from deduction and tracing through Reverse-Knowing the Future. 14

Thirty-Six Heavenly Dipper Techniques and Tiangang Divine Ability
Tang Xuan deduced multiple Heavenly Dipper techniques and ultimately merged all thirty-six into the Tiangang Divine Ability. 77

- Remote Sensing — perceives desired information across realms and was used to locate the Chaos Bead. 37

- Manipulate Creation — creates from nothing and rearranges the world’s structure at a fundamental level. 45
- Tiangang Divine Ability — combines the true meanings of all thirty-six arts into a single ability, described as granting a pseudo-omniscient and omnipotent state. 77
