Shin expanded Konoha’s power through research, political control, and the Sunlight Tower while personal conflicts unsettled the Hokage’s household. After defeating the rescue attempt at Jiraiya’s execution, he forced Yahiko to submit Amegakure, leaving his plans for the Shinobi World unresolved.

  • Byakuryu attacked Anko, and Tobirama created a new body and left Konoha to seek a way to repair his soul.
  • Shin created the Tenseigan Weapon and Sunlight Tower, while Kushina’s pregnancy by Shinichi ended with Shinichi forcing her to face Minato in prison.
  • Jiraiya freed Minato during Kushina’s delivery, but Shin sealed Konoha and Kamado forced them to escape to Mount Myōboku.

Arc 9The Hidden Pregnancy

Shin and Konoha completed the Tenseigan and prepared for the Joint Chunin Exams as personal conflicts spread through the Hokage’s household. Kushina became pregnant by Shinichi and, after seeking an abortion, was forced to face Minato in prison under Shinichi’s threat.

  • Byakuryu attacked Anko in Orochimaru’s abandoned home, and her Chakra burst drove him away as Shin and Tobirama pursued separate investigations into souls and evolved Chakra.
  • Tobirama used White Zetsu, Senju and Uzumaki blood, and part of his soul to create a new body, then left Konoha to seek a way to repair his soul.
  • Shin created the Tenseigan Weapon with Hiruko’s Chimera Technique, built the Sunlight Tower, and learned Mikoto was pregnant with his child.
  • Mikoto concealed her pregnancy from Ayari while Fugaku left Konoha, and Ayari eventually told Shin she would accept his plan to let the child be born and raised.
  • Konoha hosted the Joint Chunin Exams, Kabuto defeated Itachi, and Yahiko reconsidered the rules after they angered genin from other villages.
  • Tobirama found a red-haired boy beneath the ruined shrine and named him Byakusei, while the Toad Sage told Jiraiya that he would gain a new disciple.
  • After Mikoto and Itachi moved near Naruto’s home, Kushina discovered she was pregnant and confessed to Rin that she had seduced Shinichi to save Minato but did not want the child.

Arc 10The Hokage’s Assistant

As Shin’s Konoha pursued Tailed Beast research and brought Toneri into the Hyuga family, Minato escaped after Kushina gave birth to Naruto. Tsunade’s gambling debt led her into a humiliating arrangement as Shin’s assistant, while Minato remained a fugitive and the village’s ambitions continued to grow.

  • Zhen made Minato hear Kushina say that she was happy with the Hokage and that her child would be Naruto, and Minato eventually blessed her and the baby before Zhen led her away.
  • Mikoto supported the distressed Kushina, gave birth to Sasuke, and urged her to raise her child, while Mana and Tobirama discussed extracting the Nine-Tails without killing its Jinchuriki.
  • Jiraiya freed Minato from prison during Kushina’s delivery, but Shin sealed Konoha and Kamado defeated Minato before Minato and Jiraiya escaped to Mount Myōboku using Reverse Summoning.
  • Shin issued wanted notices for Minato and Jiraiya, while Tobirama continued Tailed Beast research and a voice in Minato’s shadow urged him to obtain the Rinnegan.
  • Goinmei and Toneri came to Konoha, and after Goinmei died, Shin’s people took Toneri to the moon and returned him to Konoha as Toneri Hyuga.
  • Shin arranged for cloned Byakugan to be transplanted into Toneri, awakening his Tenseigan, and later discussed using Tailed Beast Chakra to power a giant construct based on the moon’s String Puppets.
  • Tsunade struggled to repay her fifty-million-ryo gambling debt as Zhen had her creditors arrested and then offered her work as his assistant at five million ryo per day.
  • Tsunade resisted Shin’s strict demands, but after Samui warned that Shizune was also liable for the debt, Tsunade returned in business attire, knelt to apologize, and obeyed Shin’s orders.

Arc 11The Split Soul and the Tailed Beasts

Shin pursued Orochimaru’s Split Bodies while Konoha suppressed a rebellion, expanded the village, and developed artificial Jinchuriki. The arc left Shin wielding the Tenseigan and pursuing a complicated relationship with Rin, while Konoha’s political reach and ambitions grew.

  • Makoto toured the research institute with Tsunade, proposed an artificial Jinchuriki to solve a stalled project, and later had Tsunade serve as his assistant while Konoha ran out of funds.
  • Shinichi sent Anko to investigate Kushinadahime, where she discovered Byakuryu was a Split Body of Orochimaru and fled with Kushinadahime after the Daimyo’s death.
  • Shin recruited former Guardian Ninja into Konoha, then ordered Obito to help expand the village as rebels seized the capital and killed the royal family.
  • Shin captured Anko and learned Orochimaru was hiding in Ryūchi Cave, then captured Byakuryu in Amegakure only for Orochimaru to escape by abandoning his body.
  • Tsunade finished her assistant duties and returned to Konoha Hospital after Shin found her near the Sunlight Tower and offered her the position.
  • Kabuto produced Tenseigan serum and an artificial Jinchuriki, and Zhen awakened the Tenseigan before transferring the Two-Tails from Yugito into the new container.
  • Shin and Rin arranged the transfer of the Three-Tails from Rin, after which Shin kissed her and she asked him to be with only her.
  • Shin told Rin he could not commit exclusively to her and suggested she move in with him and Kushina, leaving Rin to call him selfish and ask him to let her go.

Arc 12Jiraiya’s Execution

Shin used Jiraiya’s execution to lure Minato and the leaders of Amegakure into Konoha, where they launched an attack on the Sunlight Tower. Shin defeated and captured the attackers, took the Seven-Tails, and forced Yahiko to submit Amegakure, leaving his plans for the Shinobi World unresolved.

  • Shin developed Konoha’s new district, arranged grain relief for the Land of Fire, and advanced plans to bring Rogue Ninja and mercenaries under Konoha’s authority.
  • After Jiraiya was captured, Shin announced his execution, while Tsunade pleaded for his life and Minato joined Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan in planning a rescue.
  • Nagato tested the Sunlight Tower’s power, then attacked it with summoned beasts as Jiraiya’s execution began and Minato moved to free him.
  • Minato escaped with Jiraiya, but Konoha’s barrier prevented their flight, while Chomei attacked the village and Naruto encountered Minato.
  • Shin restored Konoha’s barrier, subdued Nagato, captured Minato and Jiraiya, and used the Sunlight Tower to defeat Chomei while leaving its Jinchuriki alive.
  • Shin extracted the Seven-Tails and made Amegakure’s submission the price of sparing Nagato and Jiraiya, prompting Yahiko to accept and question Shin’s vision of peace.
