In Charms class, Professor Flitwick was explaining the Accio spell to the young wizards.
Harry pulled Ron over and pointed at Horatio and Hermione. "Don't you think the way Hermione looks at Horatio is a little strange?"
Ron waved his hand and said, "What's so strange about it? 'Hero saves damsel in distress' might be cliché, but it works."
Ron didn't tell Harry that lately, he'd been feeling a strange heaviness on his head.
Lavender, sitting behind them, overheard their conversation and chimed in, "Let me tell you, Hermione's been acting so..."
"Horatio was so incredibly cool that night! If someone were willing to go alone to fight a troll for me, I'd definitely give myself to him."
Ron listened as Lavender went on about how envious the girls were of Hermione and how much they admired Horatio. Impatiently, he interrupted her, "Who would want you? Even if he saved you, you'd probably scare him away?"
Lavender immediately retorted, "I think you're just jealous of Horatio. After all, he's better looking and more powerful than you. What girl with any sense would fall for a petty guy like you?"
Ron and Lavender launched into a lengthy war of words.
Hermione finished taking notes and looked at Horatio, who was sleeping soundly with his head on the desk. She noticed his furrowed brow and slightly open mouth, a trace of drool at the corner of his lips. She couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle, so quiet it was almost inaudible.
After class, Hermione nudged Horatio's elbow. "Horatio, wake up, class is over."
Horatio groggily lifted his head, rubbed his eyes, and let out a huge yawn.
Hermione tidied his hair, which had become messy from sleeping. "Let's go. Our next class is Defense Against the Dark Arts, and we need to change classrooms."
The classroom for Defense Against the Dark Arts was filled with the smell of garlic. Quirrell was at the front of the room, explaining how he dealt with Inferi.
The young wizards in the audience were drowsy.
Having slept so comfortably in the last class, Horatio couldn't fall asleep now. He could only stare blankly at Hermione, who was taking notes, making her ears turn red. She kicked Horatio's shin under the desk.
Bored, Horatio rested his head on the desk and played with a strand of Hermione's hair. "Hermione, what did Professor Flitwick teach in the last class?"
"Accio," Hermione replied, letting Horatio play with her hair.
"Oh." Horatio looked at Quirrell at the front of the room and suddenly had a bold idea.
Without hesitation, Horatio picked up Kei and waved it at Quirrell's turban. "Accio turban."
Quirrell felt his turban being pulled away and immediately grabbed it to stop it from flying off. However, he lost his balance and tumbled off the podium. Even so, he held on tightly to the turban, refusing to let it go.
Hermione interrupted Horatio. "How could you do that?"
Quirrell, taking advantage of Horatio being interrupted, clutched his turban and fled the classroom as if escaping, causing the young wizards to burst into laughter.
Just as Hermione was about to lecture Horatio, he covered her mouth and whispered in her ear, "Sometimes, the truth isn't as simple as you think."
Horatio watched Quirrell's retreating figure and saw Voldemort roaring in anger.
A moment later, Professor Quirrell returned to the classroom. "Horatio, for playing a prank on the teacher during class, Gryffindor loses five points. And you'll need to spend the evening in my office for detention."
Horatio patted a red stone in his pocket and said, "Okay, Professor."
(Normally, the author would start the next chapter here, but I'm not ordinary. I'm from Class 2, so let's keep going and give you guys a good show.)
That evening, Horatio pushed open the door to Quirrell's office, where Quirrell was already waiting for him.
Quirrell led Horatio to a table, on which sat a glass jar containing a spider.
Quirrell said, "Horatio, you are the most talented young wizard I have ever met, but you have no ambition. You are wasting your talent."
"What is ambition? Can I eat it?" Horatio yawned. "Professor, just say what you need to say. I need to go back to sleep."
"Hmph, do you know how many Unforgivable Curses there are?" Quirrell asked.
"I do. Imperius Curse, Cruciatus Curse, Killing Curse."
"Do you know how they..."
Before Quirrell could finish, Horatio pulled out Ringo and pointed it at the spider in the glass jar.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A green light shot out from the tip of Ringo, hitting the spider in the jar and instantly taking its life.
"Stop showing off with these tricks meant to fool children. Just say what you want, or let the person behind your head say it." Horatio waved his hand impatiently.
"How did you know?" Quirrell asked in surprise.
"Hmph, interesting. Let me speak to him," said Voldemort from behind Quirrell's head.
Quirrell removed his turban, revealing a hideous human face attached to the back of his head, which made Horatio feel sick.
"Horatio, it seems you're not simple either, to have discovered my existence," Voldemort said.
Horatio fanned his nose. "I could smell your putrid soul from a mile away."
"Hmph, sharp-tongued. I'll give you a chance, surrender to me..."
"Wait, wait, wait, Voldemort. Do you know why I knew you existed and why I provoked you in class?"
"Why?"
Horatio took out the Philosopher's Stone he had made later from his pocket and waved it in front of Voldemort. "Because I was bored."
"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort, controlling Quirrell's body, cast the Killing Curse at Horatio.
Horatio dodged with a swift movement. "Look at you, so impatient. Let me finish speaking."
Another green light shot towards Horatio. After dodging it, Horatio said, "Forget it. You're in such a hurry, I'll play with you for a while."
"Avada Kedavra!"
"Annihilation!"
Horatio used a spell ranked just below the Unforgivable Curses. A purple light filled with destructive energy shot from the tip of Ringo's wand.
The purple light collided with the green light, instantly engulfing it before striking Voldemort.
Annihilation: A void magic that inflicts molecular-level destruction upon the target.
As Quirrell's body disintegrated, a black mist shot out and fled towards the door.
"Still trying to run?" Horatio pulled out the chained scythe he had made earlier and threw it at the black mist.
The scythe struck the black mist, and a series of intense screams erupted from within.
"Heh heh heh, you think you can leave after offending the abbot?" Horatio dragged the scythe back along the chain while taking out the lantern he had made earlier.
Voldemort's soul looked at the lantern emitting green flames, as if seeing souls wailing in agony within it. "No!!!"
He struggled desperately, trying to break free from the scythe, but it felt as if it had grown into his very soul. He couldn't break free no matter what.
As the chain shortened, he got closer and closer to the lantern. Gritting his teeth, he severed the part of his soul hooked by the scythe and escaped the classroom with the rest.
"Tsk, should've brought a cleanse when facing hook abilities in the bottom lane."
He pulled the soul fragment on the scythe into the lantern and sniffed the lingering soul aura in the air. "Heh heh heh, I'm coming for you."
Voldemort's soul hid in a classroom, taking refuge in a cupboard. He was too severely injured to escape Hogwarts.
Outside the classroom, the sound of chains sliding on the floor echoed from the corridor, accompanied by heavy footsteps.
Suddenly, the classroom door burst open. Voldemort's soul leaped into his throat, not daring to breathe.
"Little pigs? Little pigs!"
Horatio's voice echoed through the classroom.
"Where are you?"
Voldemort heard the footsteps outside the cupboard door stop, and his soul skipped a beat.
"Here's Johnny!!!"
Horatio grinned menacingly and suddenly flung open the cupboard door.
Voldemort inside was so terrified that his soul nearly scattered. He mustered his last bit of strength to phase through the wall and escape into the adjacent restroom, not caring about anything else as he burrowed into the sewer.
Horatio gave a thumbs-up. A tough guy.
