Glenn's Request

"This... did the Boss kill all of these by himself?"

"That's nearly a hundred, terrifying."

"Sigh, I probably can't even take one down. Seeing them all rotted like that makes my legs go weak."

"Didn't I hear Mr. Castor used to be a doctor? Are doctors this fierce? The Boss must know Chinese Kung Fu, right?"

Listening to the movers' whispers, basking in the adoration of the little beauty Amy by his side as she fussed over him, Leon leaned casually against his Lamborghini sports car, sipping an iced cola, his heart blooming with joy.

Sure enough, showing off needs an audience to truly feel satisfying. No matter how well you do alone, if others can't see your achievements, no one truly acknowledges you.

He gave Amy's little butt a slap and said with a mischievous grin:

"Stop daydreaming, time to get to work."

"I've cleared this place out. Just keep the gate closed every time you go in and out, and there won't be any danger."

"We can't use the big machinery in the factory for now. I've checked the warehouse—this place mainly produces different types of metal wire, metal tubes, metal sheets, and metal frames."

"There's a lot, but we won't haul it all back to base yet."

Leon paused for a few seconds, then spoke again:

"Mm, prioritize bringing back two truckloads of metal wire. We'll need it soon."

"Oh, and over at the office building, there's their employee cafeteria. There's some daily supplies stored there too. Don't forget to bring those back."

Amy blushed and nodded, asking curiously:

"Boss, what do you need all that metal wire for?"

Leon kept it vague, saying cryptically:

"I can't say for sure if it'll work yet, but if it does, it'll become a Trump Card for us against the Zombies."

Five days later, June 20th.

After a full seven days, the Glory Avenue supply transfer plan was finally completed.

Leon had acquired a massive haul—not just various medical supplies and daily necessities, but in terms of food alone, roughly 120 tons of staple grains, 20 tons of assorted canned and vacuum-packed foods, 3 tons of luxury snacks like chocolate and candy, tens of thousands of bottles of beer, several thousand bottles of wine and spirits, and several thousand cartons of cigarettes.

The sheer volume and variety of over a thousand tons of goods filled the first floor of the six-thousand-square-meter parking lot, taking up about one-twentieth of the space.

Beyond these smaller items, Leon also secured 50 tons of diesel and gasoline, over 80 vehicles of various types including sports cars, and hundreds of tons of construction materials that would be needed soon.

It was an epic victory.

Of course, Leon was a generous and trustworthy Boss. That evening, he threw a lively celebration banquet in the Public Cafeteria on the first floor.

He provided the best drinks and the best food for free, and kept his earlier promise: every veteran employee of the Umbrella Corporation present could pick a car of their choice and take enough supplies to fill it.

Everyone was excited, everyone was happy—it was, without a doubt, the best night they'd had since the disaster struck.

At the end of the banquet, Leon announced that starting the next day, the Umbrella Corporation would officially implement the Contribution Point system.

With real currency now completely useless, every employee would earn Contribution Points by working for the Umbrella Corporation—this was everyone's wage.

Each person's Contribution Points could be used to exchange for the daily supplies they wanted.

The function of Contribution Points was like another currency—they could be inherited, traded, or gifted.

How many Contribution Points a person had would determine their quality of life within the Umbrella Corporation.

That night, after the banquet ended, Leon returned to his private floor.

He sat down in his Boss chair, just about to doze off, when he saw Amy walking quickly toward him with a notebook in hand.

"Boss, it's not time to rest yet. There are still a few matters today that need your decision."

Leon narrowed his eyes and nodded, then patted his own shoulder.

Amy immediately understood, put down what she was holding, walked behind him, and began gently massaging him.

Catching the pleasant scent of the girl's perfume, Leon asked:

"What's the matter?"

Amy bent down slightly and whispered softly in Leon's ear:

"Boss, there are three things."

"First, starting tomorrow, the Contribution Point system goes into effect. You need to appoint someone to manage our Contribution Point Exchange."

"It's a fairly tedious but very important position. They'll handle the flow of a lot of supplies and oversee most people's use of Contribution Points. You'd better choose someone honest and trustworthy."

"Second, the Glory Avenue transfer mission is done. Next, you need to assign new tasks for our Logistics Department employees. The base is in ruins and needs rebuilding—every bit of productivity has to be used well."

Leon nodded inwardly, thinking to himself that this little secretary Amy was really capable—diligent, hardworking, smart, and thoughtful. Ever since she took the position, no matter what task he assigned, she carried it out without fail.

A perfect little cog, indeed—a top graduate from the University of Chicago.

"And the third thing?"

"Mr. Glenn wants to see you. When I came upstairs just now, he asked me to pass along that he has a request to make of you."

Leon was a bit surprised. He couldn't guess what Glenn might want, so he nodded lightly and said:

"Leave the Contribution Point Exchange to Ms. Quinn. She's one of our earliest internal staff members, diligent and responsible—I've seen it firsthand."

"You can notify her to come see me tomorrow morning, and I'll speak with her in person."

"As for the second point, don't worry. Our workload for the foreseeable future is piled high. We'll only be short on hands, never with idle people to spare."

"Right now, our most urgent task is renovating the base and building houses for our employees. Keeping everyone in tents is unacceptable."

"Tomorrow, let everyone rest for the morning. Find the person among our staff with the most renovation experience and bring them to me. I'll arrange the short-term renovation work, and you'll be in charge of managing it."

"Got it, Boss. Should I go call Mr. Glenn over now?"

Hearing that she was about to become a female foreman, Amy felt nothing inside. She'd already worked as a cook, a maid, and a warehouse manager—what was there to fear about being a foreman? She was getting used to it. As long as the boss had a whim, nothing about her job surprised her anymore.

"Mm, go ahead. Also, notify your older sister to come see me tomorrow morning."

"She has new work to take on as well."

"Alright, Boss. I'll take my leave now."

A few minutes later, the Korean young man, Glenn, walked somewhat nervously into Leon's office.

For this warm-hearted, kind, loyal, and reliable young man, Leon held genuine regard in his heart. He was one of Leon's favorite characters from the storyline in his past life.

He very politely invited Glenn to sit down, a warm smile spreading across his face as he asked:

"Mr. Glenn, what brings you to see me?"

Glenn awkwardly rubbed his cheek, opening his mouth several times before finally taking a deep breath and saying:

"Boss, I have a request to make of you."

Leon nodded with a smile and gestured for him to continue.

"Do you still remember those people from the Ore Factory Camp?"

Hearing this, Leon roughly guessed Glenn's request. Feigning a hint of emotion, he said:

"Of course. Officer Shane and I knew each other before the disaster."

"Unfortunately, they turned down my invitation back then."

Glenn's face grew even more awkward. He touched his nose and said:

"I spent some time with them. They're all good people."

"That time, they didn't accept your invitation, probably because they didn't know you well enough."

"I'd like to ask you to give them another chance. Let me go convince them. This time, I'm sure they'll be willing to join our company."

Leon asked noncommittally:

"Is this your own idea, Mr. Glenn?"

Glenn nodded lightly and said:

"I just think, with how dangerous it is out there, they must be struggling. They're good people—they shouldn't die out there like that. Our Umbrella Corporation is short on hands, so maybe we can help them."

Leon stared at Glenn for a few seconds, seeing only sincerity and kindness in the young man's eyes. He nodded gently and said:

"Alright, Mr. Glenn. I've said it before: our Umbrella Corporation was founded to protect all of humanity. As long as someone is kind-hearted and willing to dedicate themselves to humanity's future, they can become our companion."

"Here's the plan: you can set out tomorrow. I'll provide a truck and have Daryl accompany you."

"My only requirement is that you both stay safe. You two are capable people who will become my right-hand men in the future. You shouldn't suffer any harm over a Trivial Matter."

Hearing Boss Leon's words, Glenn's face was full of gratitude and excitement. He nodded firmly.

"I understand, Boss. Please rest assured."
