Ritsuka first arrived in Fuyuki with Mash Kyrielight through an unexpected cross-world transfer. Although the city appeared peaceful, the presence of a Dragon Tooth Soldier confirmed that the situation was not normal. 23

She began as an ordinary, low-ranked magus with minimal practical magecraft, but accepted the responsibility of saving her world. Mo Li specifically trained her alongside Mash, and Ritsuka later credited that instruction for her ability to make difficult tactical judgments. 27 28 103

While investigating Mo Li's altered Fuyuki world, Ritsuka deduced the Matou residence had been abandoned from minor clues and discovered that another version of herself was widely known there. She initially intended to exploit that counterpart's connection to Mo Li to obtain the Greater Grail. 239 240

Mo Li identified her actual purpose: Ritsuka had used Chaldea's Holy Grails and materials to invest in the creation of Paul Bunyan, then sought this world's Greater Grail because taking it would not seriously affect its timeline. Their confrontation ended in an agreement—Mo Li supplied QP and Holy Relics, while Ritsuka promised to protect his world if necessary. 244 246

Personality

Ritsuka is observant and strategically minded. She notices environmental inconsistencies, assesses threats before acting, and routinely seeks solutions through alliances, Servant deployment, and resource management rather than personal force alone. 239 449 598

She is determined to grow beyond being merely a Master who relies on others. Her pursuit of Greater Grail enhancement came from frustration that her own limitations prevented her Servants from fighting at full effectiveness. 527 552
