Ash helped Yayoi and Akane regain their powers as the Pretty Cures faced the threat of Nibiru, then supported Nao after Joker reversed the other girls’ feelings toward her. The arc ended with the girls rejecting Nao and Ash going after them while she waited alone in the Incredible Library.

• Ash helped Yayoi confront her doubts about being a hero, and she transformed into Cure Peace to protect her father and the factory workers from Witch Reina.
• Ash and Akane used GokaiOh to divert Nibiru, and Akane awakened as Cure Sunny, saved Ash from falling, and helped defeat Joker with Gokai Rainbow Burst.
• Nao watched Ash grow close to the other girls, and he challenged her to overcome her jealousy and trust her own resolve.
• Joker reversed the other Cures’ feelings toward Nao, leaving them to reject her and walk away without her.
• Ash agreed to help Nao, who refused to abandon Miyuki and the others or give up becoming Pretty Cure.
• The girls returned to the Incredible Library, took their belongings, and rejected Nao, while Ash gave her their group photo and went after them.

Nao restored her bond with the Pretty Cure, and Ash helped Reika confront her doubts during a wedding-themed battle against the Tragedy Kingdom. Ash later moved in with Miyuki’s family, but Joker drew him into the Tragedy Kingdom, where Ash defeated Joker Card while the Pretty Cure set out to rescue him.

• Nao rejected Ash’s claim that everyone ended up alone, reconciled with the other Pretty Cure, and transformed into Cure March.
• Ash and the Pretty Cure purified the Super Clown Monster, and Ash kept his distance afterward because he feared he would ruin their happy endings.
• At Ayumi’s sister’s wedding, Reika and Ash posed as bride and groom to lure the Tragedy Kingdom, and Reika asked Ash to guide her as she struggled to choose her own path.
• Ash and Reika fought together as Evil King Dragon and defeated Wolfurun and Witch Reina, while the Pretty Cure restored the damaged world.
• After all sixteen Cure Decors produced the Royal Clock instead of reviving the Fairy Tale Queen, Miyuki found Ash and invited him to stay at her family’s home.

After Ash wounded Miyuki while trying to stop her transformation, he returned to face Gagu alone, using Dark Sword Tsukuyomi to predict his attacks.

• Ash renewed his bonds with Reika, Nao, and Yayoi, then helped Yayoi finish her manga after their souls were switched and he fought a monster through her body.
• Gagu challenged Ash as a Rider, revealed his stolen powers, and fought him through the city and a passenger ship, leaving Ash gravely wounded.
• Akane saw a future in which Ash and the Pretty Cures lost, while Ash pushed the girls away and went alone to draw Gagu out.
• Gagu abducted Miyuki and transformed her into Another Kuuga, and Ash struck her while trying to stop her, leaving her unconscious in the hospital.
• Miyuki woke and told Ash she loved him and wanted to share her happiness, while Ikuyo urged him not to make Miyuki regret her choices.

Ash and Miyuki defeated Pierrot, but Ash left Nanairogaoka City and died from exhaustion. As the Pretty Cures confronted new monsters and conflicting memories of Ash, a newly separated part of him joined Ayumi and Ash’s power began returning through Mana’s dreams.
