Background

Bai Qian is a Howling Celestial Dog demon whose exceptionally pure bloodline and rapid cultivation made her a renowned Demon King within only a few hundred years. Her strength drew speculation that she had acquired an ancient demon god’s inheritance, as she could contend with Loose Immortals despite being far younger than the other Eight Great Demon Immortals. 82 99 158

She first meets Wu Tian while refining her Inner Core beneath moonlight. Rather than harm the unfamiliar White Dog spirit, she deliberately shares moonlight with him, multiplying his cultivation speed. After questioning his origins and learning of his connection to Skull Mountain and Zhu Yushuang, she keeps him in her quarters to teach him ancient incantations. 76

Bai Qian explains that Demon Kings cannot realistically reach Demon Saint through endless Inner Core refinement alone; they must enter either the Immortal Path or Ancient Demon God Path. Believing Taiqing Temple offers Wu Tian better prospects than the Immortal Palace, she sends him back to Skull Mountain and orders him to conceal their meeting. 77
