Three years passed in the blink of an eye.

The West Coast, the tidal flats.

Kenlun Shikod swung his longsword, hacking viciously at the front.

The monster fell with a cry. As blood gushed out, its gills opened and closed rapidly. Its vitality soon drained away, and it completely fell silent.

Kenlun spat, kicked the monster, then seemed to remember something. With a look of distaste, he wiped his shoe on the sand.

This monster was a Rainbow Scale Merman. Its scales were often covered in slime, and foul-smelling, fishy drool dripped from its open mouth, where sharp fangs were exposed.

"Ugh, damn it. I feel like I'm covered in their fishy stink from head to toe!"

"I used to wonder how there could be monsters even more disgusting than gnolls..."

"Now I finally believe it..."

"There really are!"

Just then, several younger human magic warriors came over from the other side, each holding a weapon.

They had successfully dealt with the merman scouts, but judging by their disgusted expressions and the way they cursed all the way here, they had clearly suffered plenty from their lack of experience.

"Hahahaha!"

Kenlun had still been feeling dissatisfied, but seeing his companions' reactions, he could not help bursting into hearty laughter.

After laughing, however, his expression turned solemn.

"There have been more and more mermen raiding the villages these past few years."

"I don't know what's gotten into these creatures. They're breeding faster and faster, and becoming increasingly violent..."

"Who cares what's wrong with them? As long as they dare come ashore, we'll make sure they never return!"

His companions chimed in.

Not long afterward, this elite team of human heroes returned to town.

After three years, peace had finally arrived.
