Sophia's Subordinate

Sailen was enhanced by Sophia during her apprenticeship. Her limited Spiritual Power left little room for further advancement, and she expected Sophia to eventually transplant her brain. 37

After Sophia's escape, Sailen fulfilled her contract and took over Sophia's former body. The vessel was severely damaged, with more than half of its face corroded by acid, but Sailen regarded survival and freedom as a new beginning. 90

When Sophia departed, she asked Roy to take Sailen under his wing. Roy accepted her as his subordinate, and Sailen became his follower in Netherland. 91

Roy's Follower

Sailen accompanied Roy on the expedition for Sacred Lake Crystals, patrolling their camp and providing support despite still recovering from her injuries. Roy assured her that she would remain his follower even if he advanced to Formal Wizard. 95 96

Roy later used artificial skin and his Painted Skin Technique to restore Sailen's damaged face. The reconstruction combined Sophia's original appearance with Roy's mental image of Sailen, giving her an appearance she had not seen in a long time. 121 122

Bloodline Disease and Death

Sophia's former body suffered from genetic collapse, and the bloodline spells sustaining it gradually failed. Sailen's life energy and force field weakened dramatically as her Bloodline Disease progressed. 185

Although Roy initially proposed preserving her brain and seeking a replacement body, Sailen feared the despair of embracing hope only to lose it again. She eventually agreed to a transplant using a Dark Elf body cultivated from Planje's bloodline factors. 186 252

Roy retained Sailen's brain for biological-brain research. After replicating portions of its tissue, he conducted a Memory Carrier Test; the cultivated brain responded, “I am Sailen.” 269 270

The resulting Intelligent Brain retained approximately 17.5% of Sailen's memories. Roy considered it a continuation with access to her memories rather than the original Sailen herself. 270
