Gloria had realized long ago that Toby and Angel shared some secret.
Once Toby entered dreams, the Extreme Grudge Intent might transform into a creature within his dream, guiding Toby toward corruption and even breaking free of its seal. Before this, the Extreme Grudge Intent had taken Angel's form and run rampant in Toby's dream.
That was precisely why Gloria became extremely vigilant whenever Toby grew sleepy, using every possible method to wear away his drowsiness.
Yet what puzzled Gloria was that Angel seemed unconcerned about this. As long as Toby was by his side, sleeping was commonplace.
Angel cared deeply about Toby's safety, so he could not possibly leave Toby in danger. That made his behavior very strange. He was clearly certain that nothing would happen if Toby entered dreams by his side.
Where did that confidence come from?
"What change has occurred in Toby's emotions?" Gloria turned to ask Shali.
Shali had been sensing Toby's condition all along, so she answered without hesitation, "It's the same as before—very calm. The negative emotions inside him are still like undercurrents, surging only in the deep sea without stirring waves upon the surface."
In other words, Toby was no different from when he was awake.
Gloria's eyes flickered. Could that be the reason? He pulled Toby into his own dream, so Toby was safe?
But when Toby usually slept, Angel was not necessarily asleep. That answer had to be wrong.
Then what was it?
Gloria could not see through it, but she vaguely felt that one key could not be avoided—the Dream Realm.
And furthermore—
Gloria raised her head and looked toward a room on the second floor behind her. She recalled Sanders seeming to mention before that he was also researching dream-type spells.
