Half an hour later, everyone left the estate.

Butler No. 1 floated at the estate gates, watching them depart with reluctant eyes until they vanished from sight.

After they left, Angel had thought they would fly straight to the teleportation hall. To his surprise, however, Sanders led them to a typical black carriage with high wheels.

Traveling by carriage? Though Angel was puzzled, he did not ask. He simply climbed aboard.

Angel remembered that the last time he had ridden in a carriage in Sky Mechanical City had been for the Sky Auction. Back then, following the habits of a traditional noble, Sanders had chosen to travel by carriage to attend that invitation-only gathering.

This time, what was the reason? Was it because they needed to accommodate Azaz?

They were all formal wizards, and with Angel, a Research Institute member, among them, flying within Sky Mechanical City would not trigger the Magic-Energy Eye's alarm. But Azaz was different. Leaving aside whether he could fly for extended periods, his status as an apprentice alone meant that he could not casually take to the air in the main city district. Still, Angel was somewhat confused. If that was truly the reason, had Sanders known beforehand that Azaz would be leaving with them? Otherwise, he could not possibly have arranged such a carriage in advance.

Though curious, Angel thought it over and ultimately did not ask.

After all, whether they traveled by carriage, on foot, or by flight, the only difference was the speed. As long as they reached the same destination, that was enough.
