"Such strange energy fluctuations. Judging by the traces, they seemed to have been left recently."
After Angel arrived at the anomalous energy point, he examined it carefully. He found no abnormalities in the material realm, but the energy here was exceedingly strange.
He could be certain that this energy was absolutely unlike the energy of a magic array. The special nature of magic arrays made the energy flowing within them exceptionally pure, yet the residual energy here was chaotic and bizarre.
Not only was this energy complex, its main component carried a faintly eerie quality. Angel had never sensed anything similar before.
However, among its secondary energies, he still found some familiar remnants.
"Spatial energy." Though it had already become very faint, Angel could tell that it was residual energy from some kind of spatial traversal... somewhat like the spatial residue left after teleportation.
Could someone once have arrived here using something akin to a spatial teleportation spell?
But the entire first floor was covered by a magic array. Without suppressing the array's spatial sectors, how could anyone possibly teleport in from outside?
Or had someone teleported internally? From the east side of the first floor to the west side, for instance. But was there any need for that kind of teleportation...?
Angel was somewhat baffled. He shook his head and stopped thinking about it.
No matter how he guessed now, he might not find the answer. Besides, this laboratory was strange through and through; there was no need to get to the bottom of everything. Perhaps it had merely been some person's idle prank.
Skirting around the anomalous point with residual energy, Angel resumed his previous work. By observing the magic patterns on the first floor and calculating the directions of the multi-level sub-control nodes, he confirmed the location
