Angel understood what Laplace meant, but Laplace had misunderstood his meaning.
Kindred spirits and kin were different concepts.
Kin could be kindred spirits, but kindred spirits were not necessarily kin.
Still, it was perfectly normal for Laplace to misunderstand, because the definition of "kindred spirits" was exceedingly broad: those who shared the same aspirations were kindred spirits, as were those who saw eye to eye; those with common beliefs, hearts that understood one another, fortunes bound together, or bloodlines entwined were all kindred spirits. Even those who loved and slew one another could be classified as such.
So it was only natural that Laplace had singled out "bloodline."
But in truth, the "kindred spirits" Angel had meant had nothing to do with bloodline. He meant those with similar fates.
Back when Angel had created the Dream Crystal Plain in the Mirror Realm, he had briefly come face-to-face with the will of the Mirror Realm. Although the will of the Mirror Realm possessed no thoughts as such, Angel could sense that it favored Laplace.
In other words, in the eyes of the Mirror Realm's will, Laplace was an exceptionally special existence.
To borrow a description from certain novels on the Holographic Tablet, she was probably the "child of destiny" of the Day Mirror Domain—though Angel did not believe such a thing as a "child of destiny" truly existed.
But there was no denying that Laplace carried a measure of "heavenly fortune."
Among all beings of the Mirror Realm, Laplace was the only one in the Day Mirror Domain who could move through the Empty Mirror Sea like a fish in water, utterly fearless of its scouring force.
If she was not blessed by heavenly fortune, then who was?
