Angel entered the mist-stricken Night Demon City and helped Sanders investigate the parasites before joining him to close the passages into the Nightmare Realm. A mysterious force pushed Angel into the sealed interplanar corridor, where he found a way out and emerged in an abandoned village enclosed by a vast stone wall.

• Angel crafted a concealed space bracelet in the Alternate-Dimension Laboratory, then left to visit Toby’s companion as Lydia and Mirror Princess received word that Night Demon City had fallen to a ghostly domain.
• Lydia and Mirror Princess discovered that parasites were spreading through Night Demon City, and Tree Spirit found Angel and brought him to Sanders, who said Angel could help resolve the crisis.
• Angel entered Night Demon City, rescued Tebiqiu from the parasite, and led him and Domino’s followers out through the mist before returning to Dusk.
• Angel and Sanders investigated the Rainbow Dragonflies’ nest and prepared to close the Nightmare Realm passages, while Dedewiya equipped Angel with protective items.
• As Angel and Sanders closed the passages from opposite sides, a strange shadow shoved Angel into the corridor, and the passage sealed before Sanders could save him.
• Angel followed the Nightmare Realm’s aura through the dark corridor with Toby, then persuaded a swarm of Rainbow Dragonflies to carry him toward its strongest source.

Angel escaped Pokladi with Dodolo and reached Watergrass, where he became involved in the mystery of people losing their shadows. As he investigated the illness and searched for records of Axo and Pokladi, a man accompanied by black shadows entered the city, and Angel continued seeking answers about healers and the extraordinary.

• Angel uncovered the bodies in Pokladi’s lake, followed a passage to an underground cavern, and met the giant python Axo, who asked him to take the parasitized survivor away for treatment.
• Angel removed the parasite from the survivor, who murmured “Dodolo” before losing consciousness, and took him through the mountains toward a city.
• Angel named the man Dodolo Axo and rescued him from Bar Vark’s gang, then traveled with them to Watergrass and met the Magician.
• Angel accepted Count Leonrick’s invitation and learned that more than a hundred people in Watergrass had become living corpses after losing their shadows.
• Angel found a small black shadow fleeing Magda’s room and examined patients in the academy ward, but refused Leonrick’s plea to cure them and ordered him to investigate the shadows.
• The Magician told Angel that Shadowless Syndrome victims had blond hair and blue eyes, and predicted Shadow might sit beside Angel at the next Mortal Gathering.
• Angel completed his Voice Transmission model and searched the Central Library’s Ancient Text Vault, while a man carrying wriggling bags entered the city with three small black shadows.
• Angel found a healer’s oath text linking the Serpent-Wrapped Staff to healers’ rituals but no answers about Axo or Pokladi, then asked Shelly about theology and extraordinary things.

Angel followed Shadow into the Middle World to help activate an ancient array, then discovered that the Kula Kuka’s statues harvested the clan’s souls. The ceremony revealed a consciousness posing as Isabella, but Angel dispelled the illusion and Shadow identified the real descender as Fiona.

• Angel uncovered Shadow’s collection of stolen shadows and agreed to help activate an ancient teleportation array in exchange for a route toward Sky Mechanical City.
• Angel and Shadow entered the Middle World, where Shadow revealed that he sought the True Black Castle and needed to reach a ritual site inside the Kula Kuka’s Wizard Garden.
• Angel rescued Babaya from Shadow and learned about the Grand Festival, the Sky Choir, and the hymn’s connection to the Kula Kuka’s history.
• Angel and Shadow reached Xipolok, where Angel collapsed from the island’s soul-disrupting force and later began analyzing its network of magic patterns.
• Angel watched an elderly woman die before an Isabella statue and realized that the statues captured the souls of people with Kula Kuka blood to power the Source of Laws.
• During the ceremony, a girl claiming to be Isabella entered Angel and Shadow’s Mind Tether and ordered Shadow to kill Angel, triggering their contract.

Angel entered Black Castle to find Soul Pearls for Toby, rescued Shadow, and survived Isabella taking half the mysterious power from his refined revolver. Back in Soul Garden, Angel agreed to try to free a branch of the Kula Kuka clan, while the High Priest revealed an Isabella-marked disc containing mysterious power.

• Shadow turned Fiona into a puppet, while Angel arranged to move the Sky Choir selection to Centennial Hall and learned from the High Priest how the Soul Source and Soul Pearls worked.
• Angel entered the Inner World and followed Toby’s directions to a cave, where he met Huahua, returned her Soul Pearl, and learned that Gloria had given it to her.
• Angel entered Black Castle, discovered the bloody remains of its prisoners, and followed Funes into the Blood Prison, where he freed Shadow.
• With the teleportation routes shut down, Angel and Shadow traveled through Black Castle’s dangerous underground levels as Angel gathered materials to refine a revolver.
• Angel’s refinement drew an immense cloud of souls, but Isabella possessed Funes, took half the mysterious power, and left Angel with a mid-tier revolver bearing a trace of mysterious qualities.
• Gloria reclaimed Toby and assured Angel that he would recover, while Shadow decided to remain in Black Castle to pursue Naga.
• Angel and Shadow returned to Soul Garden, where Angel released Fiona and agreed to try to help the Kula Kuka clan live freely by undoing the bloodline-binding array.
