On February 22, 2011, William visited Minos Island to meet Umbrella’s Spartan-II Warriors and see the Specialized Unit Halsey had made for him. After encouraging the 240 young Spartans and approving Athena’s request to teach them, he headed to the factory where his god-body was being built.

• William flew to Minos Island with Athena and Blue Team, leaving Hunk and the other Alphas in Hafa to guard the heavily pregnant Halsey.
• Colonel Allen Kent showed William Noble Team’s file, and William noted that the squad resembled Halo: Reach’s Noble Team.
• William addressed the 240 Spartan-II Warriors, while Blue Team and Athena encouraged and entertained them.
• Athena asked to stay on Minos Island to teach the Spartan-II Warriors, and William approved her request.
• William and Blue Team took the Orbit Train with Kent to the factory where William’s Specialized Unit was being constructed.

William tested the specialized God Body designed for him, discovering its 97.6% neural synchronization and experiencing its capabilities for the first time. After reaching the surface, he had a Stealth Frigate transport the unit into space for performance tests.

• William admired his purple, heavily armed Specialized Unit and agreed to test-drive it while John, Carl, and Mylon waited behind.
• William entered the God Body's insertion pod, where Serena began the NCF Liquid injection and experienced having a physical body through the system.
• Serena reported that William's neural synchronization rate was 97.6%, and he moved the God Body in sync with his own body.
• William ejected the God Body to the surface and ordered Serena to have a Stealth Frigate transport it into space.

William tested his Specialized Unit in space and destroyed the target drones before an enormous alien saucer appeared near Titan. He recognized it as a Harvester ship from Independence Day and learned that the system did not consider the aliens an extreme threat to Umbrella.

• William piloted his Specialized Unit through space and used its Gauss Autocannons and floating cannons to destroy the target drones.
• Serena alerted William that the Third Fleet had detected an enormous spaceship entering the Solar System, and William ordered the fleets to assemble near the Third Fleet.
• The United Fleet gathered near Titan and faced a disk-shaped alien saucer about twenty-five kilometers across.
• William recognized the saucer as a City Destroyer from Independence Day and asked the system why it had not warned him.
• The system explained that Umbrella's strength meant the Harvesters did not qualify as an extreme threat.

William ordered the Umbrella Fleet to attack the Reaper flying saucer and led the Spartas toward it to invade its systems. After the volley crippled the ship’s shield, the Reapers launched a thousand carrier-based aircraft, and William prepared the fleet for battle.

• Serena asked whether to communicate with the Reapers, but William ordered the Second and Third Fleets to prepare a concentrated volley and the Spartas to stand by.
• The Umbrella Fleet stopped 10,000 kilometers from the Reaper ship and fired twenty-four Electromagnetic Cannons at one point, piercing its shield and hull.
• William learned the volley had only damaged the ship and quickly ordered the fleet to stop firing before it destroyed their target.
• William told the fleet that the Reapers targeted Earth-like planets and announced that he would lead the Spartas in invading their ship while Serena gathered information.

William and Umbrella’s forces destroyed the Reaper fighters near Saturn and breached the damaged flying saucer. William led the Blue Team inside as Serena hacked its systems, while the fleet prepared to recover the vessel.

• Mylon and the God Body Squad tore through Reaper reinforcements while William, John, and Carl helped eliminate the enemy fighters.
• William ordered the White and Black Teams to support the fighters and led the Blue Team toward the flying saucer.
• William cut an X-shaped opening through the saucer’s armor, and Mylon tore the breached section away.

After Umbrella wiped out the Reapers aboard their vanguard ship, William prepared for the main force’s arrival by offering warship technology to humanity. The chapter ended with him arranging for countries to buy modified Paris-class plans, engines, and fire-control systems under Umbrella’s Confidentiality Agreement.

• Serena warned William that a Reaper mothership would arrive in five days, and William ordered Umbrella’s forces to annihilate every survivor aboard the Reaper ship.
• Umbrella’s troops defeated the Reapers with few casualties, while Serena seized control of the ship; the damaged vessel later returned to Earth with the Stealth Fleet and Containment Carrier.
• Two days after the battle, William ordered Serena to send footage of the fight to leaders and generals around the world.

• William brought the Alphas to The Hive’s fourth level and asked Dr. Aaron Adams to assemble the senior researchers.
• William told the researchers that Umbrella had defeated the Reaper force and explained that its twenty-five-kilometer mothership would reach the Solar System in three days.
• William ordered The Hive to adapt the Reapers’ low-cost energy shields for Umbrella’s forces and design a warship at least seven kilometers long with a larger main cannon and a hangar for divine bodies.
• William named the new research effort the Infinity Project and took Hunk and the Alphas by underground train to Troy Base.

Umbrella prepared to ambush the Reaper mothership near Saturn, and William briefed his officers on a plan to attack it. After the fleet’s opening volley damaged the mothership and the naval battle began, William launched his divine body to join the fight.

• Serena revealed that the Reaper mothership was nearly 600 kilometers long and carried more than twenty million Reapers.
• William outlined a plan for the fleet to fire a surprise volley, engage the Reaper destroyers, and send Spartans to assist while he led Blue Team toward the mothership.
• Three hours later, Umbrella’s opening attack pierced the mothership’s shield and destroyed a quarter of its destroyers as the enemy ships separated.
• William launched his divine body from an aircraft carrier and ordered Serena to mark the enemy craft and assist Umbrella’s forces.

William used his Super Speed special technique to clear a path through the Reaper fighters and reach the mothership, while Serena helped coordinate his attack. After the fleet broke through the mothership’s shield, William entered through a breach and left the next stage to Serena.

• William and the Sparta Blue Team fought through the growing swarm of Reaper fighters as Carl’s Electromagnetic Accelerator Cannon failed to pierce the mothership’s shield.
• William ordered Serena to control the remote weapons, then announced that he would head for the mothership alone while Blue Team protected the carrier-based aircraft.
• William activated Super Speed, combined the Ship Slicers, and swept through the enemy fighters before stopping outside the mothership’s shield.
• Serena coordinated a fleet salvo that disabled the shield and blasted a breach in the mothership’s hull.

William piloted the Divine Body into the Reaper mothership while Serena worked to breach its systems, as Umbrella’s outnumbered fleet struggled against the Reapers. Serena ultimately seized control of the enemy forces, and William ordered Umbrella to destroy them all as a purple-painted Divine Body emerged from the mothership.

• William entered the Reaper mothership, cut through its defending aircraft, and asked Serena how long she needed to breach its systems.
• Umbrella’s fleet and pilots fought the overwhelming Reaper forces, with Sparta’s Blue and Red Teams providing crucial support while losses mounted.
• A Divine Body rescued an F-X from a swarm, but Mylon watched another F-X explode and attacked the enemy aircraft in anger.
• Serena completely breached the mothership’s systems, causing the enemy aircraft and flying saucers to stop moving.

After Umbrella destroyed the Reaper mothership, William learned that the Reaper race had been eradicated and reviewed the losses from the battle. The Battle of Saturn ended with 649 Umbrella casualties and 24 missing, while Serena preserved the Reapers’ data and technology for Umbrella.

• The returning combat units headed back to the fleet while Pelicans searched for distressed pilots and towed damaged fighters to the warships.
• William asked Serena whether the data copied from the Reaper mothership revealed other motherships, and she concluded the Reapers had been completely eradicated.
• Serena reported that 142 F-Xs and Viking Fighters had been destroyed, 336 had sustained light damage, and the crews’ casualties were still being counted.

• Serena shared footage of Umbrella's battle with the Reapers, and Andre negotiated with world leaders to establish the UNSC, which would build a fleet with Umbrella's assistance.

• The Hive decrypted the Reapers’ Energy Shield technology and developed the AT Shield System for selected Umbrella forces, while leaving Spartan-II armor and ordinary Marines’ equipment unchanged.
• The Hive planned to upgrade Umbrella warship hulls and add AT shields, and it developed plasma weapons to complement Gauss and caseless pulse weapons.

• William ate breakfast, dressed, and drove from his estate into the transformed streets of Halifax City.

Umbrella’s Gamma Task Force arrived at the Multinational Coalition Air Force Base to investigate the invisible creature blamed for Sergeant Davis’s death. Rebecca concluded that the War Ghost was likely a physical entity and prepared to join a reconnaissance mission with a scanning system.

• Colonel James Ollender greeted Captain Karina Reis Pross and Dr. Rebecca Chambers after their force landed at the base.
• Ollender showed Rebecca and Prus recordings in which Dynamic Detection alerts coincided with brief glimpses of an unseen figure.
• Ollender reported that Sergeant Davis had died from instantly frozen organs, while his skin appeared burned and corroded, and that similar bodies had been found around the city.
• Rebecca said the War Ghost was likely physical but might resist rifle fire, and asked for clearer images and more data.
• Prus explained that Umbrella’s scanning system could reveal conditions even in zero visibility, and Ollender agreed to assign an elite unit to guide the reconnaissance team into the city.

After a War Ghost attacked B Team in Chisinau and two Delta Force soldiers went missing, Orend and Rebecca redirected the mission into a joint rescue led by Prus. Adam’s team and the Delta Force entered the target building, where they found signs of a deadly abnormal phenomenon and continued searching for the survivors.

• A Delta Force soldier reported that Rebels and B Team had been attacked by a War Ghost, prompting Orend to call off reconnaissance and order a rescue.
• Orend appointed Prus to command the joint operation, and Prus instructed the Gamma Task Force to record data on the abnormal phenomenon while helping recover the trapped soldiers.
• Seventeen personnel, including Adam’s four USS and three Delta Force teams, flew by UH-60M to the target building and entered in formation.
• Adam activated his Scanning System and located two survivors on the fifth floor, then led the team upstairs by an alternate stairway after a section of stairs had collapsed.

Adam’s rescue team found the two trapped people in the fifth-floor apartment and tried to evacuate them as the War Ghost anomalies closed in. Adam and the two USS fought a retreat to the rooftop, where they boarded a UH-60M and escaped with the survivors.

• Adam split his team to secure the rooftop route and search the fifth-floor apartment for the trapped people.
• The trapped people fired through the bathroom door until they ran out of ammunition, and Adam’s team disarmed them.
• A trapped person warned that the anomalies could burrow into skin and that everyone in Group B was dead; Adam then learned anomalies were gathering on the third-floor platform.
• Adam knocked out a trapped person who refused to leave, and his team began retreating as gunfire and a wail signaled that the platform guards had been overwhelmed.
• Adam and two USS fought off the pursuing, barely visible anomalies while the Delta Force soldiers and trapped people reached the sixth floor and rooftop.
• Adam and the USS reached a waiting UH-60M, which escaped with two other helicopters and returned in formation.

After Second Lieutenant Adam’s rescue team returned from Chisinau, Rebecca investigated the War Ghosts and concluded they were likely Bose-Einstein condensates. She left Prus with a possible explanation for their abilities and their inability to pass through ceramic.

• Prus proposed asking the Olympus Board of Directors for permission to strike Chisinau with a hydrogen bomb, but Rebecca argued that they should first study the anomaly and the damaged Biochemical Power Armor.
• Second Lieutenant Adam and the rescue teams returned to base with two shaken civilians, and technicians examined the operatives and escorted everyone for treatment or debriefing.
• Rebecca questioned Sergeant Kenster, who described how unseen attackers killed his squad and how he and David survived by hiding in a ceramic bathtub.
• Rebecca told Prus that the anomaly existed outside visible light, killed through extreme cold, could not pass through ceramic, and was likely a Bose-Einstein Condensate.

Rebecca explained that the anomalies were likely Bose-Einstein condensates and suspected they came from an abandoned nuclear power plant near Chisinau. Prus and the Gamma Task Force departed in new experimental equipment to investigate and contain or eliminate them.

• Rebecca explained the suspected condensed matter lifeforms' properties and theorized that the abandoned Soviet nuclear power plant had created them.
• Prus agreed to send the Gamma Task Force to the plant after Rebecca offered prototype Plasma Weapons and Biochemical Power Armor equipped with AT Shields.
• Umbrella technicians delivered the equipment, and Prus and twenty USS members geared up for the mission.

Captain Prus led the USS Gamma Task Force in an assault on a nuclear power plant that Rebecca had identified as the lair of the Condensed Matter Lifeforms. Inside, they discovered a facility producing the anomalies and containers holding human nervous systems, which Rebecca believed controlled the creatures.

• Prus and twenty USS members jumped from the Pelican and landed outside the nuclear power plant, where helmet scans revealed Condensed Matter Lifeforms surrounding them.
• Prus reported the discovery to Rebecca and ordered Gamma Task Force to attack; the USS used plasma rounds and Psionic Shockwaves to destroy the anomalies outside.
• When the destroyed Lifeforms began reforming, Prus left three USS groups guarding the entrance and led the others deeper into the facility.
• Prus and her team found production containers printing Condensed Matter Lifeforms, followed by containers holding complete human brains, spinal columns, and nervous systems.
• Prus told Rebecca the facility looked like a factory for creating Ghosts, and Rebecca said the contents likely controlled the anomalies and should be destroyed.

Prus's Gamma Task Force destroyed the Netherworld entities at the nuclear power plant and secured the anomaly's underlying technology. After reading the report, William reflected on Umbrella's growing capabilities and the technology's possible uses.

• Prus ordered explosives planted inside the nuclear power plant, then withdrew with the USS units and detonated them, dissipating the Netherworld entities.
• Rebecca confirmed that the anomaly was under control and ordered Prus to hold the site for arriving technical personnel.
• Follow-up forces discovered that Tchaikovsky had used a Soviet-era facility to develop Bose-Einstein Condensate soldiers, and Umbrella acquired the technology after containing the outbreak.
• William read the Netherworld report at his seaside villa and considered how the technology might aid research into consciousness and virtual worlds.
