Shentu Nantian arrived in the Tai'a Divine Kingdom as a high-status representative of the Shentu Family during the Beast Tide crisis. Prince Chu and the kingdom's younger generation treated him with exceptional deference. He presented the Desolate Reflection Stone as a means of exposing Desolate Tribe members and declared the Shentu Family's intention to suppress the Beast Tide and negotiate with the kingdom 365.

After discovering Jiang Xiaorou's exceptional Desolate Tribe bloodline and status, he became determined to capture her for both personal and family gain. He attempted to destroy her Sea of Consciousness rather than allow her to escape, then used Yi Yun—after crippling him with the Seven Fiends Heavenly Yin Pill—as bait to draw out high-ranking Desolate Tribe members 370 372.
