Third Shinobi World War

Konoha fought on multiple fronts against Kirigakure, Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Sunagakure. The village suffered severe losses, with its eastern front—including the Uchiha Clan—facing Water Release specialists from Kirigakure despite the Uchiha's Fire Release specialty. 1 30

The Uchiha Clan's performance on the eastern front, particularly that of Uchiha Daiki and Uchiha Shisui, helped reverse Konoha's position against Kirigakure. Their battlefield successes contributed to the enemy's withdrawal and the eventual conclusion of the war. 27 45

After the war, surviving Uchiha returned to a comparatively muted welcome, while other clans and figures such as Minato Namikaze and Orochimaru received more visible public acclaim. This disparity intensified the clan's dissatisfaction with the village leadership. 50

Fourth Hokage succession

The war's casualties led Hiruzen Sarutobi to consider resigning. Although Minato Namikaze was initially backed by Hiruzen and the Land of Fire Daimyo, Uchiha Daiki secured his own appointment letter and forced a political confrontation within Konoha. 49 71 76

Following negotiations with Hiruzen, Minato, the advisers, and the major clans, Daiki was recognized as the Fourth Hokage. His inauguration was held publicly after Shimura Danzō's attempted rebellion and assassination plot were exposed to the villagers. 77 94

Expansion under Uchiha Daiki

Under Daiki's leadership, Konoha brought the Land of Water and the Land of Wind under its authority. The village subsequently pursued economic reform, expanded Ninja Academies, and began environmental restoration projects in the Land of Wind. 114 126 135

Konoha later became the core of a unified shinobi world, with former rival nations and their leaders operating under Daiki's authority. 187 215 258

Attacks on the village

Obito Uchiha infiltrated Konoha and exploited Kushina Uzumaki's childbirth to release the Nine-Tails. The attack caused extensive casualties; Kushina died, and Naruto was abducted, while Uchiha Shisui subdued the rampaging tailed beast. 152 157 160

During Uchiha Daiki's absence in an alternate dimension, Madara Uchiha invaded Konoha to seize the tailed beasts and Nagato's Rinnegan. The village was heavily damaged in the fighting before Hashirama Senju restored much of it with Wood Release. 258 264 278
