The entire venue fell silent.
Every young wizard in the stands wore the same dumbfounded expression.
If they were merely asked to cast those spells, most upper-year students could manage it.
But casting those spells instantly and silently like Cypher and Tom did was utterly beyond them.
Only Silent Spells could make that possible; their mouths simply could not handle chanting multiple incantations at once.
The dueling games they usually played were all one person shouting a spell, the other blocking it, then the roles reversing.
The duel only ended when someone's spell failed or was countered.
"I only took one bite of my sandwich, and they've already exchanged blows several times?" A Hufflepuff student did not even notice his sandwich falling to the ground. He rubbed his eyes with his free hand and exclaimed clearly.
"Senior, don't get so excited. Sit down, you're blocking the people behind you... Ah! Why did all of you stand up too?" The young Ravenclaw girl clearly did not know how difficult magic was to learn. Or perhaps she simply believed that once she became an upper-year student, she would be able to do the same.
"Merlin's beard! Why isn't Cypher in Gryffindor? That combat talent! Heavens!" Charles Weasley threw an arm around the companion beside him, shaking him wildly as spit flew from his mouth.
"I never expected Cypher to truly be able to contend with Tom! In fact, Tom even seems to be at a disadvantage!" Abraxas Malfoy slammed his fist against the railing in front of him and growled indignantly.
Just one round of probing and warming up had left the young wizards present deeply shaken.
Of course, that was also because the truly capable young wizards had all gone to the front lines for training.
Without that level of skill,
