Bang—bang—
The sound of metal striking metal echoed continuously through the cottage.
Cypher had returned to Hogwarts three days ago—or rather, he had been unconscious for three days!
Fortunately, somewhere in his subconscious, Cypher had sensed a long-lost feeling of safety.
By the time he woke up, he had mostly recovered.
Now that his body was no longer seriously affected, he swung his forging hammer, putting the finishing touches on his custom weapon.
The Sword of Gryffindor had felt fairly handy during his trip, but Cypher ultimately still wanted a single-edged sword.
After much deliberation, he settled on a slender Katana.
Because the materials were rather special, and because a great number of runic patterns had to be added to them,
there was basically no way to use magic to assist with the forging process.
So now, Cypher personally wielded a hammer as tall as he was, striking the raw material again and again into the rough shape of a Katana.
Beside him, Iris skillfully controlled the temperature of the flames beneath the forge.
When she saw Cypher finish one stage of the forging, she intuitively used magic to control a towel and wipe the sweat from his face.
There was no need for thanks. Cypher turned and smiled at Iris, then gave instructions to Luna and Cassandra, who stood on either side of the forge.
"Luna, Cassandra! Help me secure the tip and hilt of the blade!"
"Okay!"
The two of them each held a pair of huge tongs longer than they were tall, standing on opposite sides as they firmly secured the rough blade on the forge!
"Cypher! Are you sure you want to make an inlay hole at the end of the blade?"
"Of course! I'm sure! This weapon design appeared in my dream while I was
