Nature and Structure

• The Primordial World was created by Great God Pangu after he shattered Chaos, opened heaven and earth, and used the bodies of the three thousand Chaos Demon Gods to strengthen its foundation. 85

History

Early eras and tribulations

The Primordial World entered the Era of Sages after Tongtian attained sainthood and established the Intercept Sect. Its subsequent major crises included the Witch–Demon Tribulation and the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation. 1 3

During the Witch–Demon Tribulation, Mount Buzhou was shattered and a hole was torn in the sky. 1 The Investiture of the Gods Tribulation later spread across the entire world, drawing sects, Saints, and countless cultivators into conflict. 3 50

A clash between Tongtian and four Saints nearly caused the world to return to earth, fire, water, and wind; the combatants ultimately moved their battle into the outer Chaos to avoid further damage. 7

Lin Xuan’s rise

Lin Xuan’s emergence altered events that Saints believed to be predetermined, including the fates of Intercept Sect disciples who were originally destined to die in the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation. 62

After Lin Xuan publicly executed Yuanshi’s Evil Corpse, its refined Saint origin became spiritual energy and Great Dao essence that benefited Golden Ao Island and its inhabitants. 69 70 Lin Xuan later ended a world-spanning slaughter tribulation by preaching throughout the Primordial World, saving its sentient beings and directing the resulting Heavenly Dao Merit to his disciples. 70

The death of Primordial Heavenly Venerate sent shockwaves through the world and elevated the Intercepting Sect’s destiny. 74

Reshaping the world

Lin Xuan relocated Kunlun Mountain to Golden Ao Island after first ordering the collection of its earth veins to prevent damage to the Primordial World’s geomantic foundation. 74 75

He later gathered the earth veins of the western region and used Sleeve Universe to collect the Western Continent. 89 The immeasurable western lands were subsequently moved to fill the East Sea, an act that earned immense Heavenly Dao Merit. 90

After the Intercepting Sect’s Heavenly Court was established, the Heavenly Dao restored and completed the refinement of the Thirty-Three Heavens into a spiritual treasure. This created a new pillar of destiny for the Heavenly Court, to which the destiny of the world’s races contributed. 98

Lin Xuan eventually lifted the entire Primordial World and placed it at the edge of the Chaos realm before entering closed-door cultivation. 110

Inhabitants and Powers

• Myriad races and spirits — The world is inhabited by innumerable races, rogue cultivators, mortals, mighty ones, and spiritual beings. 70 98
• Saints — Saints were historically the world’s highest-ranking cultivators, capable of influencing the destiny of countless beings and even reforging heaven, earth, fire, and water when acting together. 83
• Heavenly Dao — The ruling heavenly order of the world, capable of rewarding merit, enforcing oaths, and influencing the fortunes and limits of Saints. 57 87
• Intercepting Sect’s Heavenly Court — Established by Lin Xuan to govern the three realms and six paths, with 365 righteous gods appointed from the Intercepting Sect. 98
• Investiture of the Gods — A Heavenly Dao divine artifact used to enfeoff gods and bind inscribed souls to heavenly authority. 98 103

• Saint-level conflict — Battles between Saints can destabilize the world itself, necessitating combat in the outer Chaos. 7
• Heavenly Dao manipulation — Hongjun suppressed the Earthly Dao and Human Dao in pursuit of greater control over the world. 91
• Demonic corruption — Demon Ancestor Luohu corrupted Nuwa’s Dao foundation through the Hongmeng Purple Qi and spread demonic influence through the world. 90
