Lin Bai attended the Chu Emperor’s birthday rites and banquet as tensions rose over the succession, the Northern Region, and the Nine Underworlds Demon Palace. He entered the Hunting Realm with the Tianshui Sect, where Ning Qingwen warned him that four factions had joined forces to kill him.

• The Elder offered Lin Bai the Azure Lotus Sword Immortal’s and Blood Sword Immortal’s inheritances to entice him to join Ten Thousand Saints Mountain, but Lin Bai made no commitment.
• Prince Chen explained that presenting Xia Jingzhi’s confession could destroy the Third Prince’s claim, while Lin Bai checked preparations with Chao Yushi and agreed to help Old Man Wuchuan hunt rare materials.
• The Third Prince met Shen Qingquan, who urged him to blame Xia Jingzhi and accept minor offenses so the Chu Emperor might spare him, and the Third Prince agreed to follow his plan.
• The Chu Emperor performed the worship-of-Heaven and ancestral rites, and purple qi stretching eighty thousand miles flowed into him without settling the succession between Prince Chen and the Third Prince.

There, Madam Qianrou learned his identity as envoys from the Nine Underworlds Demon Palace demanded the bloodlines promised in their pact.

• Lin Bai entered the Hunt Realm with the Tianshui Sect disciples, then separated from them and killed the Cloud Dream Treant after escaping its vines and illusions.
• Lin Bai explored an underground river, sold Tuo Baxin the Dragon Pearl Spirit Fish pearls, and joined him to hunt the Nine-Headed Dragon Serpent.
• Lin Bai and Tuo Baxin killed the serpent, but a Netherworld Beast dragged them and seven Soul Refining Sect disciples underwater.
• Lin Bai activated his Supreme Avatar, passed through a barrier into the Inner Earth World, and was wounded by a three-headed tiger before meeting a false Chen Yule.
• Old Zhang captured Lin Bai and brought him to Verdant City, where Madam Qianrou had him confined with other martial artists.

Lin Bai uncovered Verdant City’s bloodline experiments and resisted Madam Qianrou’s attempts to recruit him and secure his child. As the city prepared to evacuate and the Chu army approached, Lin Bai turned against his captors and sought a way out with Crow and Tuo Baxin.

• Madam Qianrou and Jingming recognized Lin Bai in Verdant City’s dungeon, while the City Lord decided to bargain with him and prepare to move the city to Barren City.
• Madam Qianrou explained the Demon Race’s bloodline experiments and offered Lin Bai a King Grade Bloodline in exchange for joining them and fathering a child, but he refused.
• Lin Bai summoned Crow, explored Verdant City, and learned more about its Hunter Warriors and the abuses inflicted on captured martial artists.

Lin Bai and Tuo Baxin raided Verdant City’s treasury during the Chu Kingdom’s takeover, then Lin Bai confronted and killed the seven Soul Refinement Sect disciples who had been hunting him. Lin Bai discovered that the sect held Leng Xingguang in its Northern Region forbidden grounds, refined Phoenix true blood to gain Phoenix Nirvana, and entered a volcanic region in search of resources.

• Lin Bai and Tuo Baxin exploited the battle between the Verdant City lord and a Chu imperial warrior to reach the Underground Palace, where they fought the Hunter Warriors and pursued Madam Qianrou.
• Lin Bai and Tuo Baxin obtained the King Grade Bloodline bottles after the city lord withdrew, then left Verdant City with the Chu forces and reunited with Chen Yunjie and the other captives.
• Lin Bai separated from Tuo Baxin and confronted the Seven Asuras of Soul Refinement in a valley after they followed him and explained that the Northern Region wanted him dead to protect its invasion plans.
