History
The Primordial World was opened by Pangu. Buzhou Mountain, its foremost mountain, was capable of sustaining the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus, while Saint-level power was dangerous enough to threaten the world’s physical stability. 1 275
Before the Three Pure Ones took form, the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans had dominated the world during an earlier calamity. The western lands later displayed far fewer divine mountains, spiritual springs, and high-grade spiritual roots than the East, although the world continued slowly repairing them. 37 111
Hongjun’s attainment of sainthood was announced throughout the world amid purple qi filling the heavens. He invited those with fate to attend his preaching at Purple Cloud Palace after three thousand years, prompting the Three Pure Ones and Zhou Qingqing to travel into Chaos. The Twelve Ancestral Witches’ subsequent public proclamation of the Witch Race marked the opening of the Witch-Demon Calamity. 11 69
The Three Pure Ones founded Daoism together, with the establishment of one faith producing three Saints. Houtu later revived the Earth Dao and established Reincarnation without losing her true body, earning the praise of the world’s beings as a Great Sage of Great Virtue. 178 220
Nuwa later broke the shackles imposed by the Heavenly Dao and opened the Human Dao. The Human Dao’s emergence strengthened the world’s origin, expanded Mount Zhou and the Jianmu Tree beyond their prior limits, and dispersed accumulated calamity qi among the Witch, Demon, and Human races. 303
Her achievement followed the gathering of the hearts and soul power of living beings from across the world, including the Human, Witch, and Demon races. Using the Qiankun Cauldron, she forged the Primordial Sacred Sword as her treasure for proving the Dao. After attaining Human Dao Sainthood, she released life-generating creation in the form of a Twelve-Petaled Creation Azure Lotus, spreading creation lotuses and Human Dao marks throughout the world. 300 301 302 303
These changes culminated in a dimensional ascension. The ascended world became more resilient: divine abilities that once destroyed mountains could thereafter only shatter boulders, forcing cultivators to re-cultivate and adapt their techniques. Its world membrane and spiritual energy also became vastly stronger. 303 317 766
Afterward, Heavenly Dao Hongjun released Nuwa from his discipleship and the Mystic Gate. He also ordered Houtu to take most of the Witch Race into the Nine Nether Realm to develop the Earth Dao, a punishment she accepted. 304
During the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, Blue Planet served as an alternative arena for the conflict, sparing the Primordial World from a catastrophe involving the Three Daos and Saints. 492 493 Daoism later separated from the Mystic Gate after Heavenly Dao Hongjun conceded defeat to the Three Pure Ones. 751
This outcome avoided the Three Pure Ones’ fratricidal conflict, Saint-Falling Pills, deathly closed-door cultivation, and prohibition on Saints appearing that Zhou Qingqing associated with the original trajectory. Daoism, now possessing four Dao Ancestors, became the world’s strongest force. The Three Pure Ones established the Three Teachings Grotto on Kongtong Mountain during their return and gathering with the other Saints. 751
When Yang Mei returned from Chaos, he found a world fundamentally different from those he knew in earlier reincarnations. Its stronger membrane, transformed spiritual energy, expanded landmarks, and independent Earth and Human Dao Lords demonstrated the extent of the changes. The later attainment of Heavenly Dao Sainthood by the Seven Little Ones stabilized the Three Daos further and advanced the dimensional ascension again. 766 789
Following Yang Mei’s defeat, his remaining spatial origin was divided and evolved into myriad worlds beyond Blue Planet. These worlds became destinations for projections, avatars, tribulations, and the expansion of civilizations from Blue Planet and the Primordial World. 798 799
The resulting order allowed the Primordial World and the Myriad Worlds to coexist without requiring the Primordial World to be shattered into fragments first. This differed from the original trajectory described by Zhou Qingqing, in which the world’s destruction after the Investiture of the Gods Calamity preceded the evolution of myriad worlds. 769 798
During a later New Year Festival, an expanded Heavenly Horse Championship gathered enough wealth aura for Zhao Gongming to attain Primordial Chaos as the God of Wealth. He announced that wealth would come through legitimate transactions and distributed red envelopes throughout the Primordial World. 1174
Structure and Laws
The Three Daos
- Heavenly Dao — Originally the dominant order governing Heaven and Earth; its shackles were severed when Nuwa opened the Human Dao. 303
- Earth Dao — A coequal path represented by Houtu as its Dao Lord. The Nine Nether Realm is an important Earth Dao domain and site of reincarnation. 398 766
- Human Dao — Opened by Nuwa and centered on all living beings, particularly the Human Race. Its development is tied to civilization, the cultivation of the mind, and the Human Sovereign’s karmic position. 303 755 785
- The Earth Dao’s revival preceded the Human Dao’s full opening. Houtu established Reincarnation and summoned the Book of Life and Death and the Reincarnation Brush, while Nuwa’s awareness of a possible Human Dao developed alongside these changes. 220
- The Three Daos’ joint development increased opportunities for sainthood outside the Heavenly Dao and for attaining Primordial Chaos Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal through the laws. Their further stabilization accompanied the Seven Little Ones’ attainment of Heavenly Dao Sainthood. 300 789
- Houtu and Nuwa can perceive disturbances through their respective Dao powers. Yang Mei therefore avoided exposing himself to the Earth and Human Dao Saints while investigating the changed world. 767
Dimensional Ascension
- The ascension deepened the world’s origin and made Great Dao laws easier to comprehend. 303
- The Jianmu Tree gained enough capacity to absorb and transform the world’s accumulated calamity qi. 303
- The world membrane became countless times stronger than before, and spiritual energy underwent a qualitative transformation. 766
- Higher resilience came with a cost: pre-ascension divine abilities no longer displayed their former destructive scale without renewed cultivation. 317
- Before the Human Dao’s opening, the Heaven-Piercing Jianmu was already purifying calamity qi into innate spiritual energy, increasing the purity and density of the world’s spiritual energy. Its further growth enabled it to finish transforming the remaining accumulation. 299 303
- Ascension remained an ongoing process after its initial manifestation. The Seven Little Ones’ sainthood completed another portion of that process, with changes distinct enough for Yang Mei to perceive an additional dimensional rise. 789
- Although comprehension became easier in several stages, directly witnessing Great Dao laws could still be difficult for cultivators in the strengthened world. Watching Zhou Qingqing create Great Dark Heaven offered an opportunity to observe laws and world principles more clearly. 377
- Ascension altered the responsibilities and paths of the Human Sovereigns. Shennong’s establishment of the Central Divine Court, rather than the technological progression associated with the original declining world, was identified as appropriate to the ascended world’s Earth Sovereign Dao Fruit. 363
- The number of Saints increased drastically after ascension, but their combined power was not sufficient to overcome the World-Destroying Mill’s projection. 841 842
Reincarnation
The Primordial World has undergone multiple reincarnations, though knowledge of these cycles is rare. King Pan retained memories from several cycles after gaining consciousness within the opened world, while Yang Mei confirmed that dimensional ascension had not occurred in prior cycles. 819 766
Different reincarnations can contain different Chaos Pearls, and traces of Fate may persist across worlds from separate cycles. 1059 The Human Race’s repeated survival through calamities has led Zhou Qingqing and the Three Pure Ones to identify it as a possible bearer of “the One that escaped.” 1050
During Heart Ape Subjugation, Zhou Qingqing witnessed repeated scenes of Pangu opening the world. She and the Three Pure Ones interpreted these as the world’s creation across multiple cycles rather than repeated views of a single creation. The broad course of events appeared largely unchanged across those cycles. 692
Earlier reincarnations were not entirely identical. The Divine Path era associated with Heavenly King Yuanshi represented a distinct prior world, while King Pan’s consciousness awakened progressively earlier in successive cycles. King Pan repeatedly tried to help the Witch Race but was thwarted by Hongjun’s actions and the Witch-Demon Calamity; he could recall neither his eventual death nor the Immeasurable Calamity. 817 819 1059
Memory retention is not guaranteed between cycles. Yang Mei feared that an accelerated destruction of the current world could leave his investigations unfinished and that losing his memories in the next cycle would render those efforts useless. 795
The current cycle contains exceptional changes. Hongjun stated that the Thirty-Six-Grade Chaos Azure Lotus had never appeared in previous Primordial World reincarnations, identifying the Three Pure Ones’ chief disciple as a factor in their ability to shatter the world’s established grand momentum. 825
Zhou Qingqing later used the Great Destiny Technique and her Chaos Pearl to investigate other reincarnations and locate additional pearls. During that search, she witnessed a memory in which Pangu used an Earth-Splitting Chisel alongside the Pangu Axe to open the Primordial World. The Three Pure Ones also considered the possibility of a reincarnation where Fate replaced the Chaos Pearl’s supreme Great Dao and produced a new Chaos supreme treasure. 1059
Creation and World Principles
- Pangu’s creation separated clear qi into heaven and turbid qi into earth. Jade Pure Yuanshi also described clear qi as corresponding to the primordial spirit and turbid qi to the fleshly body, with the space between forming the world. 95
- Pangu transformed his body into the world’s myriad things. The Three Pure Ones arose from his primordial spirit, while the Ancestral Witches arose from his blood essence. 19 128 143
- The supreme Great Dao contained within the Heaven-Opening Axe is the Great Dao of Opening, which opens light, darkness, and worlds. The Three Pure Ones distinguished it from their more ordinary practice of creating minor and middling worlds. 743
- True Chaos Primordial was described as the state before heaven and earth separated and before all things were born: not power, laws, or Dao resonance, but “nothing,” without even the concept of existence. The Gold and Silver Youths’ simulated wonder retained form and traces and was therefore not equivalent to that true state. 1278 1281
Heavenly Secrets and Prevailing Trends
- Many innate beings possess naturally emerging divine names. Names and Daoist titles are associated with origin, fortune, and merit rather than being merely casual labels. 10
- The Heavenly Dao was described as “fifty lacking one,” or the Four-Nine Heavenly Dao. 627
- Spatial fragments can retain information about events in the world. Yang Mei gathered them to reconstruct its recent history, although they revealed only basic information rather than deeper secrets. 766
- The Three Pure Ones rejected the idea of an immutable prevailing trend. Their examination of Hongjun’s Great Dao Spiral showed them a power that twisted and altered the current age’s trend, which they understood as an artificial intervention by earlier Dao Creation experts rather than an inevitable correction. 741
- The later world was characterized by Ten Thousand Daos Contention rather than domination by a single religious mythology. Blue Planet, meanwhile, was identified as the true center of all worlds within the connected system. 1204

Major Calamities and Threats
Investiture of the Gods Calamity
Heavenly Dao Hongjun initiated the calamity through the Investiture of the Gods List, declaring that it would establish a divine path spanning Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. 488 To prevent Saint-level conflict from damaging the dimensionally ascended Primordial World, the central struggle was transferred to Blue Planet. 492 493
Hongjun explicitly declared that Saints could become involved. Zhou Qingqing and the Three Pure Ones feared that drawing them in too early could shatter the still-ascending world and suspected that Hongjun wanted to hasten its decline. His subsequent challenge to Zhou Qingqing concerned whether she could conduct a calamity involving the Three Daos without damaging the Primordial World. 488 492
Blue Planet was suitable because it was a miniature Primordial World in which Heaven, Earth, and Human Dao also coexisted. Nuwa later used Human Dao fortune to allow the Human Race to enter it while their original bodies remained in cultivation in the Primordial World. Daoism’s core disciples likewise remained outside the central calamity rather than repeating the original trajectory’s losses. 492 520 597
Immeasurable Calamity
The Immeasurable Calamity is linked to the world’s recurring reincarnations and remains a looming danger even after major changes to the current cycle. Yang Mei believed that the dimensional ascension could hasten its arrival. 751 766
Yang Mei warned that continued ascension would bring the Immeasurable Calamity sooner and return the entire world to zero. His opposition to the changes reflected his fear of losing both the time needed to investigate survival and his memories in a future cycle. 790 795
Houtu recognized that the world’s reincarnation cycle and coming calamities could not be resolved through the Earth Dao alone. She therefore shared her insights with the Three Pure Ones as trusted collaborators. 669
As the world continued ascending rather than undergoing the original trajectory’s dimensional downgrades, Zhou Qingqing reasoned that its calamities would correspondingly become stronger. She decided to channel newly appearing calamity qi into Blue Planet and the Myriad Worlds, using controlled adversity to promote their development rather than allowing all of it to accumulate in the Primordial World. 911
World-Destroying Mill
The World-Destroying Mill appears when the Immeasurable Calamity is born. A projection formed at Undying Fire Mountain from fragments of Great Dao laws and threatened the destruction of the Heaven, Earth, and Human Three Daos. 839
Karmic sins left beneath the southern mountain were another latent danger. They remained suppressed while the Heavenly Dao flourished but could erupt during the Immeasurable Calamity. Primal Phoenix’s apparent duty to suppress the volcano also placed her in the path of that eruption. 831
Hongjun explained that the mountain’s “undying” nature concerned Chaos Demon Gods, whose indestructible matter could enable their return even after death. He associated the mill’s appearance with the gathering place of fallen Chaos Demon Gods and noted that this development had not occurred in earlier cycles because the Ferocious Beast Calamity’s beasts had never entered the mountain. 839
The Saints of the Three Daos and Primal Phoenix attacked the projection together, but it only swayed. As it began turning, it ground away their essence, energy, and spirit, while a mysterious gate formed beneath the mountain. 842
The mill ultimately vanished after Zhou Qingqing passed through the altered Ferocious Beast Calamity and subdued it; she later used its aura in her plan to shatter myths and bring about the Dharma-Ending Age. 843 846
Demonic Resurgence
Heavenly Demon King Poxun had concealed himself in the western lands under the Demon Ancestor’s orders, waiting for an opportunity to rise again and demonize the Primordial World. Supreme Pure Laozi discovered him and used the Taiji Diagram to prevent his escape. 113
Great Dark Heaven later provided an external battlefield for confronting Heavenly Demons, redirecting such conflict away from the Primordial World itself. 377
