Background / History

Ling Ye spent eons signing in across the Primordial Era, surviving dangerous regions and accumulating a vast collection of artifacts. After returning to the Origin Universe, he intended to retire permanently as a “Salted Fish,” valuing sleep, food, television, and an uninterrupted life above all else. 3 32

He arrived near Su Wanqing’s villa because the site contains a surviving spatial-anchor fragment of the Guixu Heavenly Gate, a former super-teleportation gate connected to the Primordial Era. Ling Ye recognizes the anchor as a possible route back to that era, but also as a beacon likely to attract dangerous attention. 12 13

His early return is marked by reduced reserves: his Chaos Origin Qi is nearly depleted after excessive use, and he states that his strength is below one-tenth of its former level. He cultivates in the villa’s cellar to recover while investigating the unusual artifacts that reacted to his arrival. 40 41 53

During an encounter involving a sentient bellyband and an ordinary infant, Ling Ye is forced to claim the child as Ling Xiaoye to appease an unidentified and terrifying “Madam.” He appoints Su Wanqing as the child’s wet nurse and becomes responsible for maintaining the deception. 36 41

Appearance

Ling Ye usually dresses to look inconspicuous, alternating between a hemp robe and barefoot appearance or ordinary modern clothes such as a dark gray T-shirt and faded jeans. 6 8

  • Calm, deep eyes compared to an ancient well when his aura is restrained. 8
  • His eyes can manifest a phantom galaxy when examining powerful formations or spatial phenomena. 13
  • Often carries a worn cloth bag containing Primordial artifacts and discarded sign-in rewards. 3 71
  • Commonly adopts relaxed postures—lying on carpets, sofas, or recliners—regardless of surrounding danger. 8 112 188

Personality

Ling Ye is profoundly averse to disturbance. The endless years of signing in made him regard abnormal fluctuations, surveillance, and unexpected responsibilities as “trouble”; his preferred solution is usually to avoid involvement, return home, and continue lounging. 3 69 98

Despite this laziness, he is observant, calculating, and exceptionally adaptable. He can rapidly assess formations, artifacts, energy signatures, and enemy motives, then choose between concealment, intimidation, or overwhelming force. 13 77 108 116

He habitually treats catastrophic threats with casual humor and mundane comparisons. However, he becomes proactive when threats endanger Su Wanqing, the villa, the Anchor Point, or broader spatial stability. 77 105 123 180

Abilities & Skills

Sacred Power and Chaos Origin Qi

Ling Ye wields Sacred Power and Chaos Origin Qi, primordial energies capable of affecting life force, matter, souls, and large-scale energy phenomena.

  • A sip of tea affected by his power causes plant life to grow wildly; his presence can also freeze plants and overwhelm observers with oppressive pressure. 6
  • He can repair physical damage, including shattered flooring, with Sacred Power. 71
  • He calms Su Wanqing’s unstable power and establishes her initial Qi Refining cultivation with a single remote touch. 176
  • His Chaos Origin Qi can nourish and stabilize artifacts such as the bellyband, teardrop coordinate imprint, and beast-tooth pendant. 36 54
  • His reserves were initially severely reduced after returning, with Chaos Origin Qi nearly depleted and his strength below one-tenth of its former level. 40 41

Concealment and Spiritual Sense

Ling Ye can perceive hidden energy, formations, spatial disturbances, and hostile surveillance while masking himself as an ordinary mortal.

  • Dragon Abyss’s divine-sense probes and instruments register him as a normal human with no detectable energy core or circulation. 55 59
  • He infiltrates Doctor Smith’s suite without the staff noticing his presence. 77
  • His Spiritual Sense can map terrain, earth-energy nodes, personnel placements, and hidden arrangements across an entire town. 96 116
  • He detects restrained observers, covert vehicles, and differing cultivation systems from a distance. 98

Spatial and Temporal Manipulation

Ling Ye possesses refined control over spatial coordinates, travel, stabilization, and dimensional structures.

  • He reverse-engineers residual spatial information from a sealed crystal to locate the Emissary’s waypoint at Netherworld Crossing. 108
  • He performs spatial movement and Space Jumps while deliberately avoiding damage to Earth’s spatial nodes. 92 178
  • In the Mechanical Realm, he freezes time and space around war machines comparable to Grand Unity Golden Immortals. 160
  • He travels through the lethal Sea of No Light unharmed and reaches White Bone Island through a Spatial Beacon. 128
  • He stabilizes spatial anomaly points to prevent extra-dimensional creatures from entering Earth. 123

Rule-Level and Conceptual Erasure

Ling Ye can negate, alter, or impose effects at a level beyond conventional energy techniques.

  • He demonstrates “Conceptual Level” erasure while interrogating the Cornerstone Foundation’s operative, terrifying the Foundation into freezing direct action against him. 86
  • The Guixu Council’s Law of Annihilation cannot affect him; he is able to nullify their rule-based attack. 131
  • He seals a space rift using a potato chip, permanently correcting local physical laws and energy flow unless externally disturbed. 262
  • He stops an evil god’s corroding projected hand with one finger, dissipating its will. 120

Combat

Ling Ye’s combat style is overwhelmingly direct when concealment is no longer useful.

  • He destroys Doctor Smith’s alloy safe to force the Foundation team to withdraw from Weishan Lake. 77
  • He captures and soul-searches the Emissary, annihilates the remaining demonic cultivators at Netherworld Crossing, and dismantles their outpost. 110
  • He defeats an evil god’s projection, shatters its bone scepter, frees trapped cultivators, and seals the Valley of Buried Stars’ corrupted power source. 120 121
  • He suppresses malevolent energy in Kunlun with an Eastern Emperor Bell phantom, then eliminates hostile believers, mercenaries, and a hidden phantom. 180
  • He disables three alien reconnaissance ships in orbit by “smoothing,” “folding,” and “formatting” their systems, cores, and thought-energy structures. 226

Artifact Refinement and Improvised Construction

Ling Ye repurposes even low-grade Primordial objects into useful modern tools.

  • He refines an ice-cream box to improve its quality. 23
  • He creates a convincing artificial Spiritual Vein with Breathing Soil and redirects its vitality toward a seed at the Su family’s old residence. 65
  • He builds an automated villa security system from defective Yellow Turban Warrior cores, damaged mechanical-puppet cores, and Cleaning Runes. 71
  • He uses the Twin Tokens and Myriad Phenomena Stone to disguise the villa’s energy field as profound but impossible to analyze. 102
