"What happened?" Yin Xuege spread his Natal Bat Wings and hovered in midair more than twenty miles from Government Hill, staring blankly at the Silver-black dense fog that filled a ten-mile radius ahead of him.
Six golden beams of light pierced the heavens, passing straight through the clouds high above. Within the golden light, six Golden Pagodas flickered in and out of sight. Dozens of Golden Immortal Scripts the size of water vats slowly revolved around each pagoda. These scripts seemed to have been cast from colored glaze, their entire surfaces shimmering like frozen disks. They radiated a majestic, domineering aura so powerful that no one could look directly at them.
Yin Xuege merely glanced at a Golden Immortal Script near one of the pagodas, and his heart immediately began to pound wildly. His blood surged backward through his body, and drops of blood uncontrollably trickled from his nostrils. The power contained within this script was vast and grand, solemn and righteous, blazing forth like the sun with unstoppable force. It was the natural nemesis of the Blood Demon Clan's cold, yin demonic power.
Even from far away, that single glance had stirred the terrifying power hidden within the script, throwing every function of Yin Xuege's body into chaos.
Yin Xuege hurriedly lowered his head and coughed several times. Great mouthfuls of blood foam instantly sprayed from his throat. He could not help feeling horrified. What were these six Golden Pagodas and that Silver-black dense fog? Their power was simply outrageous!
In the gentle breeze, the Eight Great Stewards of the Yin Clan, who had been assigned to assist Yin Xuege, simultaneously spread their Natal Bat Wings and appeared beside him. They warily formed a circle around Yin Xuege to protect him, then began cursing in low voices, their expressions ugly.
"The formations of the Eastern Cultivation World, Young Master Xuege. We don't understand how to break formations, so we can't approach. Otherwise, there'll be extreme danger!"
The Yin Clan divided its members by generation using the eight characters "Heaven and Earth Limitless, Blood Sea Universe." There was no need to discuss the Blood Sea Universe generations. Yin Xuege was a Juvenile of the clan, and at present, the Yin Clan had only a little over a hundred Juveniles of the "Sea" generation.
Among the four generations of Heaven and Earth Limitless, the Extreme Generation members of the Yin Clan were responsible for the clan's daily affairs and held its real power. They were still constantly activating their Blood Demon bloodlines and mastering the new Blood Demon secret techniques they had comprehended. They had only learned a few of the Yin Clan's signature thunder arts, and had not yet had enough time to study and comprehend the knowledge of the Eastern Cultivation World.
The Nameless Generation members of the Yin Clan had already completely mastered the various Blood Demon secret techniques they had awakened. They were in the golden period when their strength was advancing by leaps and bounds. Thus, the Nameless Generation members spent years in secluded cultivation, devoting themselves to accumulating strength in pursuit of a breakthrough. They likewise had no time to investigate the many mysteries of the Eastern Cultivation World.
In the Yin Clan, only the Heaven Generation Elders had originally come from the Eastern Cultivation World itself, and thus were familiar with various formations, alchemy, and other arcane arts. The Earth Generation clan elders, meanwhile, were in a period when their strength was growing steadily. They possessed long lifespans and had no miscellaneous clan affairs to trouble them, so they had ample time to study the wondrous techniques of the cultivation world!
Yet when the Great Formation had just activated, the numerous Heaven Generation Elders and Earth Generation clan elders beside Yin Tianjue had been swept up by the dense fog conjured by the formation. Every one of them had been trapped inside. As a direct result, although there were many experts among the Yin Clan members left outside, they knew absolutely nothing about the art of Eastern formations and could only stare blankly at the Great Formation.
"Can none of you Great Stewards see through this 'formation' at all?" Yin Xuege gripped the Blood Spirit Sword tightly, the veins at his brow throbbing rapidly. Yin Tianjue and the other clan elders had all been trapped inside the Great Formation, while Farnburg and a large number of experts from the Stuttgart Family had been swept in as well. If anything happened to them, the Yin Clan army that had invaded the Great Berlin City-State might very well suffer total annihilation!
Six consecutive muffled thunderclaps rang out. Within that hazy fog, eighteen banners suddenly shot into the sky, wrapped in dense clouds and rosy light. The instant the banners appeared, countless streams of smoke resembling octopus tentacles roared away in every direction.
Before Yin Xuege and the others could react, dozens of Silver-black smoke tendrils as thick as arms coiled around their bodies. An irresistible, tremendous force surged over, forcibly dragging the group into the rosy clouds that had suddenly expanded.
The rosy clouds abruptly expanded outward, reaching a radius of nearly a hundred miles, then rapidly contracted inward. Tens of thousands of Yin Clan Warriors and Blood Servant troops who had already reached the vicinity of Government Hill, Yin Xuege among them, were swept into the Great Formation one after another.
After a bout of darkness swallowing the sky and earth and heaven and earth spinning upside down, Yin Xuege felt his body sink. He suddenly appeared in a clear, lustrous world. Silver clouds filled the sky, and strange radiance shone down from behind them. The light fell upon Yin Xuege, heavy and sharp like a mountain of blades crashing down on his head. Agonizing pain racked his entire body, while his bones creaked under the pressure.
Beneath Yin Xuege's feet lay a layer of Silver-black clouds about a foot thick. The unbroken clouds spread outward for more than a hundred miles. All the Yin Clan members and Blood Servant soldiers swept into the Great Formation had gathered in this stretch of heaven and earth, suppressed by the radiance emanating from behind the clouds.
The sealed armor of several hundred Yin Clan members cracked beneath the tremendous force. The clear, waterlike light shone through the gaps and onto their bodies, which swiftly erupted into raging flames. Amid sharp, earsplitting screams, several hundred Yin Clan members rolled across the ground as they burned, and the air quickly filled with the savory scent of roasted flesh.
High in the sky, six enormous Golden Pagodas, each a thousand meters tall, floated above the clouds. Each pagoda had thirteen levels and eight corners, with a golden bell hanging from every eave. Drops of golden radiance, like rain and strings of jeweled beads, drifted from the bells. Every Yin Clan Warrior touched by the golden light let out a terrible scream as golden flames rapidly ignited across their bodies.
Countless bronze-colored blades stabbed back and forth from every direction. Amid the shrill sound of blades tearing through the air, great swathes of blood sprayed into the sky. The blades flew extremely fast, and their edges were razor-sharp. The armor and shields of the Yin Clan Warriors could not withstand their attacks at all. Large numbers of Blood Servant troops toppled like wheat before a scythe, hacked into minced flesh by the blades.
A person stood beneath each Golden Pagoda. Three men and three women stood beneath the six pagodas. One of the women, a beautiful woman in red robes, was Fainlan, whom Yin Xuege happened to know. But he did not recognize the other five, who wore extraordinarily gorgeous court attire, had fragrant powder applied to their faces, and—despite being men—had drenched themselves in perfume and even put on lipstick.
Yin Tianjue and Yin Tianmie, along with three other Yin Clan elders, hovered in midair. Their enormous Natal Bat Wings spread wide, releasing a thick Blood Mist Barrier that protected the several thousand Yin Clan members swept into the Great Formation, helping them withstand more than half of the formation's killing power.
But the suppression and destructive force of this Great Formation were simply too powerful. Even with the five Yin Clan elders joining forces, they could still protect only a small portion of those trapped within. No one cared about the other tens of thousands of Blood Servant troops. They were slaughtered like pigs and dogs. Judging by the speed of those blades, they would be killed to the last within half an hour at most!
The moment Yin Xuege was swept into the Great Formation, Farnburg flashed to his side. Farnburg's expression was grim as he looked up at the six Golden Pagodas and suddenly let out a heavy sigh. "With my strength, I can only barely tear open a gap in this Great Formation! Perhaps I can take you and escape safely, but your newly accepted Bloodline Son and your clan members will have to fend for themselves!"
His crimson eyes swiftly swept over Yin Tianjue and the other five Yin Clan elders, and Farnburg quickly lowered his voice.
"Those five youngsters might include someone with enough strength to forcibly tear open a gap. But to completely break this Great Formation and let so many Yin Clan members escape? That's impossible! Your Yin Clan's elaborate plot has failed this time. These Easterners are truly not to be trifled with!"
Yin Xuege looked at Farnburg in astonishment. There was little worry or panic in the old man's tone. Instead, it was filled with the excited eagerness of a hunter who had spotted his prey. He grabbed Farnburg by his broad robe and shouted in a low voice, "His Highness Prince Farnburg, you must have a better solution, right? Don't deny it. Your tone has already betrayed you!"
"Damn it!" Farnburg helplessly patted his pale forehead, then gave a bitter smile. "If I'd known this would happen, I wouldn't have fused part of my life experiences and knowledge into the essence blood I passed on to you! Perhaps I do have a way, but it would cost me quite a lot. I'm considering whether it's worth doing."
While Farnburg was hurriedly discussing matters with Yin Xuege, Fainlan's smug laughter suddenly rang out.
"Welcome, esteemed guests! Let me guess the identities of our five honored guests, shall I? You are members of the oldest evil existences in the Yin Clan, aren't you? To eliminate five ancient evil existences at once—what a glorious victory that would be for all of humanity!"
Yin Tianjue kept his face stern and stared darkly at Fainlan. Two-foot-long, razor-sharp claws sprang from his ten fingers. His blade-like nails moved without wind, ringing crisply. Blood gleamed in his eyes as he coldly shouted, "Woman, how did you know we were coming?"
Fainlan smugly rose to her feet. She held a banner and gave it a light shake. Thousands of blade rays immediately materialized high in the sky, their tips locking onto Yin Tianjue's body. Her originally full bosom thrust even higher as she giggled in triumph.
"Who told us that a tiny vampire escaped from our Blood Prison? And he just happened to meet our most esteemed guest! Greedy vampires—whenever you catch the scent of any 'profit,' you pounce like frenzied wolves! So of course we prepared for your attack long ago. Don't tell me you don't recognize the five Grand Arbiters from the Milan City-State?"
