Once the Honkai Beast had left, the screen did not disappear. Huang Hao did not know why it had done that. He had originally planned to return to his game of chess, but because he was worried about how his friends were doing, he forced himself to sit back down despite his foul mood.

The screen lit up, and the scene appeared at once. Through it, the image displayed what was happening over there again.

Angela arrived at the designated location, but Hua was the only one there.

Angela: "Hua, where did everyone else go?"

Hua: "They went to see if they could slow down the Herrscher's movement and domain."

Angela wanted to say that it was basically impossible, but this was not the time to discourage anyone, so she changed the subject.

Angela: "How is the situation now?"

Hua: "It doesn't look good. We have no way to stop the Herrscher. Qian Jie was dissatisfied just now and charged straight in, but fell instantly. We're already exhausted just getting here, but this is the city center. We have to go in..."

Hua looked utterly dejected. It was only natural. In the face of disaster, lacking the strength to do anything but watch the ending they did not want unfold before their eyes was something no one wished to see.

Angela hesitated for a moment. Then, while Hua was not paying attention, she suddenly rushed inside. Hua had not expected it and hurriedly shouted, "Angela, wait! Your power still can't..."

Before Hua could finish, she saw Angela moving freely within the domain, as if it did not exist.

"Looks like my power isn't Honkai Energy."

Angela looked at the flames burning at her fingertips and turned back to smile at Hua. Then, before Hua could say anything, she left.

Seeing Angela weaving through the domain with ease, Hua felt deeply frustrated. Her gaze fell on the flames left behind on the ground, and she silently swore that she would become stronger. But for now, the most important thing was...

"Captain! A large number of Honkai Beasts and zombies are heading this way!"

The most important thing was her responsibility now!

"I'll deal with them. You evacuate the wounded. The rest of you stay here and receive the people inside!"

After Angela entered, she caught the faint smell of blood. The farther in she went, the stronger it became, and the more severe the damage to the buildings grew.

Severed limbs were scattered everywhere. Although the sky was clear and cloudless, the place seemed like a graveyard beneath the sun. The blood reflected no light at all, while the ruined buildings flashed with that same light, sending chills down the spine.

When Angela first saw this horrifying sight, she froze for a moment and nearly collapsed. However, her powerful adaptability soon allowed her to calm down, and she continued forward.

The farther in Angela went, the more zombies and Honkai Beasts she encountered. Although they were extremely weak, their numbers made up for it. Angela expended a great deal of stamina. What was more, she encountered wounded people along the way and had to rescue them as quickly as possible, sending them to the blank—killing them, in other words. Hearing their cries for help, she kept running back and forth.

In the end, Angela could not hold out any longer. She had no choice but to pause her search for the Herrscher's whereabouts, find a smooth stone without any blood on it, sit down, and try to contact the others.

Within the domain, she could not even use her power. How could she possibly get through to anyone? In the end, Angela found nothing. She was unwilling to leave, but staying was pointless too, so she simply collapsed where she was and decided to see what happened.

But she could not remain idle. Angela surveyed her surroundings, looking for a safe place where she could leave something for a long time and move back and forth between locations.

Just as Angela held a flame in her hand and searched for a marker, the flame suddenly began swaying uncontrollably, as if a powerful gust of wind had blown past.

"How could this be? The flame I control couldn't sway this much because of a little wind. What is this?"

She spun around sharply, but there was no one behind Angela—only the ruins and the Honkai Beasts she had just cleared out. Even so, the intense unease drove Angela to flee.

"Then... what was that?"
