By the time Angela arrived at the conference room, it was already empty. However, two pieces of paper and three bowls of instant ramen remained on the table. The screen in the center was still on, displaying: "Honkai is coming, please hurry. See the documents for details."
Angela walked over and picked up the papers. Upon closer inspection, she realized they were the same documents she and Huang Hao had sent out five years ago, with only the location and time added. Nothing else had changed.
Since she hadn't marked it beforehand (she forgot) and was late because she was helping Pardo, there was no one to guide her. She could only follow the navigation.
As Angela rushed along without stopping, most of the Fusion Warriors had already arrived at the battlefield and begun fighting. Thanks to the advance information, they didn't rush in recklessly. Instead, they found volunteers among the rash warriors who had been instantly defeated, pulled them back, and set up a one-kilometer exclusion zone.
But the Herrscher had appeared in the city center, where countless civilians were still present. However, for the sake of a long-term plan, they had to abandon the area. Although most of them were unwilling, allowing the Honkai beasts and zombies to spread would only increase casualties. Thus, most of the warriors left, leaving behind some Ace Soldiers and medical support personnel to rescue anyone who managed to escape.
And what about Huang Hao?
"Eat."
Someone raised a cannon and "ate" Huang Hao's car. Then, because the surroundings were all his own pieces, he would be blocked in, checkmated.
"Oh dear, the pieces are all the same, why did I lose?"
Huang Hao scratched his head in annoyance and asked the person opposite him. But the space only contained Huang Hao. Who was opposite him?
Space is reality; what does the mind have to do with it? The other party was the "Huang Hao" from within his heart.
The "Huang Hao" slowly said, "You and I are different. You are too impatient. You eat any piece you can, occupy any spot, and you're unwilling to sacrifice other pieces. In the end, you get dragged down and ruin the whole game."
"But retaining pieces gives us strength."
"But the ultimate goal is to win."
In their argument (he couldn't accept defeat), the two of them went back and forth. Finally, the fake Huang Hao used "I won" as an excuse to shut Huang Hao up.
"No matter what you say, the ending is still the ending. Come, let's play another round."
Huang Hao couldn't do anything about it, so he helped tidy up the chessboard, intending to play again. But the fake Huang Hao suddenly looked up halfway through tidying, "Something's coming. You go back and deal with the previous problem first."
"The previous problem... I haven't figured it out yet..."
"I'm talking about outside."
The moment he finished speaking, Huang Hao was already outside. He opened his eyes and began to gasp for air, unaccustomed to it. "***... I can get out on my own..."
"What, did you see that beautiful scene again?"
Listening to the surround sound, Huang Hao knew that terrible thing had appeared again.
Honkai Will: "Are you still thinking about the outside? I've brought you something good."
Saying that, it was about to open a screen. Huang Hao was too lazy to stop it anymore and grumbled, "Don't you have any other methods? How many times has this happened? Also, are you Honkai or the Dominion Herrscher? You only think about demoralizing people."
"It's quite effective against you."
"Why me?"
"You are a miraculous accident."
Huang Hao understood. The Honkai knew he was from the Imaginary Tree. They also wanted hope.
"Give up. You can't succeed."
"You can succeed now."
"This isn't success now, it's just a truce."
After Huang Hao said this, he felt the Honkai pause noticeably, but it still displayed the screen and said nothing more.
However, Huang Hao felt something was off. "Why is this Honkai so obedient? It's actually quite nice. I should have taken the plot seriously earlier."
