Background

Shizuku originated from Meteor City. Before meeting Jing Yang, she had awakened Nen but had not habitually trained basic techniques such as Gyo or deliberately cultivated her aura reserves. Her ability and total aura instead developed gradually through everyday use. Training alongside Jing Yang drastically accelerated her progress. 31 155

She came to Meteor City searching for someone, but did not find them. At the time, she had no clear future plans. 33

Jing Yang initially watched her from a distance because he suspected she might possess the Spider Tattoo of the Phantom Troupe’s number 8 member. He later learned she was not yet a member during their early encounters. 21 32

Appearance

Shizuku is a black-haired girl who wears glasses and is often seen in a black sweater. Her light purple left eye can be used by Jing Yang through partial possession via her Star Mark. 21 269

Personality

Shizuku is quiet, curious, direct, and frequently expressionless. Her interest tends to appear suddenly and fade just as quickly; she can forget matters she does not care about with unusual speed. 26 31

Despite this forgetfulness, she is disciplined and loyal. Jing Yang considers her capable of carrying out lethal orders without normal societal hesitation, reflecting her Meteor City upbringing. 26 79

She is practical in dangerous situations. She declines unnecessary risks, avoids killing when it would create trouble, and decisively incapacitates Kurapika when he becomes unstable enough to threaten comrades. 31 176 269

Recruitment into Akatsuki

Shizuku explores the Fanged Moon Tiger Nature Reserve with Jing Yang and Menchi, learns about Hunter licensing and Nen basics, then challenges Jing Yang for the Blue Moon Pearl. She loses their arm-wrestling match and agrees to recognize him as her boss, becoming Akatsuki’s “Yi,” the second Heavenly Stem. 31 32

Nen Training and Blobfish Development

She trains daily with Jing Yang and Menchi, refining Ren, Ken, Gyo, Ryu, and Blobfish. She develops the vacuum cleaner into a chainsaw-vacuum hybrid, then advances toward independently transmuting chainsaw aura. 42 53 96 97 161

Heaven’s Arena

Shizuku accompanies Jing Yang to Heaven’s Arena but initially avoids formal arena fights because she does not want to reveal Blobfish publicly. She eventually competes in the Mt. Scarlet Eyes Retrieval

Transmutation Island and Greed Island

Separated from Jing Yang, Shizuku reaches Transmutation Island by using foot-mounted Nen Saw Chains as propellers and Blobfish as a suction aid. She later joins Jing Yang, Kurapika, and Kite in building a raft after the island’s black fog disappears. 196 201

Wataru-kō Building Infiltration

Shizuku infiltrates the Wataru-kō Building at high speed, evades security, and creates Chainsaw Women to misdirect soldiers. When pursued by a Nen user, she allows Jing Yang to use her left eye remotely through the Star Mark. 269

Hunter Exam and Akatsuki Expansion

During the Hunter Exam, Shizuku disappears from her hotel room, later reunites with Jing Yang and warns him that an examiner can imitate abilities such as Chainsaw Woman. She is present when Camilla joins Akatsuki and challenges the prince’s ruthless conditions. 319 321 330

Fox Transformation

Shizuku begins growing red fur and transforming into a red fox near an enormous stele bearing unknown Divine Script. Jing Yang attempts to understand and control the transformation. 383
