Di Ku's Sons! (Continued)
Qi's direct descendants were the lineage of Shang Tang of the Shang Tribe, and the later Di Xin was his direct descendant. Qi was the ancestor of the Shang Dynasty.
The brothers Qi and Qi lived in harmony, but their descendants fought fiercely, each wanting to destroy the other.
Descendants of Shang and Descendants of Zhou: Our ancestors were half-brothers, what business do we descendants have with them? We should wipe them out first.
If Taiqing Laozi knew that Qi and Qi were the Ancestor of Zhou and Ancestor of Shang, he would surely reconsider whether to support them as the Five Emperors.
Under the arrangement of Taiqing Laozi, Di Ku's wife Chen Feng Shi (Qing Du), became pregnant after being touched by a red dragon and gave birth to Fangxun Shi (Yao).
When Fangxun Shi was born, Taiqing Laozi created many extraordinary phenomena to promote him.
Fangxun Shi was born, Xuan Du came to take him as a disciple, as instructed by Taiqing Laozi.
Upon seeing Xuan Du, Di Ku could tell that the man was no ordinary person, so he bowed to him and inquired:
"May I ask how I should address you, senior?"
As Di Ku bowed to Xuan Du, he kept scrutinizing him, because Di Ku's Five Emperors told him that the person before him was human, but different from ordinary humans.
"This humble Xuan Du greets Fellow Di Ku!"
Xuan Du returned the greeting to Di Ku Di Ku, feeling that he was already being very generous by doing so.
Although he was expelled from the ranks of humans by Nuwa, the Human Mother Goddess, he was among the first humans created by Nuwa. According to the hierarchy of humans, Xuan Du many generations higher than Di Ku.
"Could it be that you are the great god Xuan Du, the Teacher of the Historian Emperor?"
As Xuan Du revealed his identity, Di Ku remembered who he was.
This is Xuan Du, the Traitor of the Human Race was expelled from the human race by the Nuwa, the Human Mother Goddess; this is the Cang Jie Xuan Du who supported the legendary Emperor Cangjie, causing considerable trouble for his great-grandfather, Xuanyuan Shi.
"It is indeed I, the humble Daoist!"
After acknowledging his identity, Xuan Du revealed the purpose of his visit.
Di Ku, as one of the Five Emperors, probably understood what it meant when the other party came to take his son as a disciple.
Although Di Ku had some reservations about Xuan Du, he was still pleased that Xuandu had come to take his son as a disciple.
After all, his future successor will be his son; isn't that something to be happy about?
In this way, Xuan Du successfully accepted Fangxun Shi, the son of Di Ku, as his disciple. However, Di Ku discovered that the generational order was a bit messed up!
Xuan Du's previous disciple, Shihuang Cang Jie, was of the same generation as his great-grandfather, Xuanyuan Shi. Now that his son has become Xuan Du's disciple, doesn't that mean he, Fangxun Shi, is of the same generation as his great-grandfather, Xuanyuan Shi?
The generational hierarchy is so confusing, let's just stick to the traditional system of assigning titles to individuals.
Just then, a golden fire phoenix descended upon the place, transforming into a stunningly beautiful female immortal.
"Greetings, Great God Jin Ning!"
Xuan Du recognized the other person as Jin Ning, the chief steward of the Wa Saint Palace, and quickly bowed in greeting.
Jin Ning: I'm just a head steward in the Wa Saint Palace, but outside the Wa Saint Palace you have to call me Great God Jin Ning.
Because Xuan Du had taken Di Ku's son Fangxun Shi, as his disciple, he kindly gave Di Ku a hint to prevent him from making a mistake.
Xuan Du: Di Ku, see, I didn't take your son as my disciple for nothing, did I?
See how loyal I am!
After receiving Xuan Du's prompting, Di Ku quickly followed suit and bowed in greeting.
After gesturing for Xuan Du and Di Ku to dispense with formalities, Jin Ning explained his purpose to Di Ku:
"Di Ku, I have come to proclaim the Imperial Decree of the Empress Nuwa!"
Upon hearing that Jin Ning was carrying Nuwa's Imperial Decree, Di Ku immediately performed a grand salute:
"Di Ku respectfully accepts the Imperial Decree of the Human Mother Goddess Empress Nuwa of the Human Race!"
Nuwa is the Human Mother Goddess, and her status in the hearts of the human race is supreme.
Bai Chen: Nuwa's supreme status was preserved by this great god.
Fuxi: It was clearly because I took on all the responsibility that Nuwa's supreme position in the hearts of the human race was preserved.
Bai Chen: Fuxi, it was this great god who entrusted you with this responsibility, which means it's still thanks to this great god.
After Di Ku performed the grand ceremony, Jin Ning produced the imperial Imperial Decree and announced:
"Wa Saint Edict: According to the Great Dao's Destiny, Di Ku's reign is to last for seventy years, and now there are thirteen years left."
Thirteen years later, Di Ku left the human race. He decreed that no one should interfere in human affairs unless it was a matter of annihilation for the human race; any violation would be severely punished!
Actually, this Imperial Decree was originally intended for Di Ku by Bai Chen, so that Di Ku could prepare to get out of here.
But Nuwa felt that she was the Human Mother Goddess, and if she let Bai Chen arrange everything, wouldn't that make her, the Human Mother Goddess, seem like just an ornament?
So Nuwa had Jin Ning announce the Imperial Decree, and of course, the one who issued the Imperial Decree changed from Bai Chen to her, the Human Mother Goddess.
"Di Ku respectfully obeys the Imperial Decree the Human Mother Goddess Empress Nuwa of the Human Race!"
Di Ku was not particularly surprised by the arrival of this Imperial Decree, and instead accepted it gladly.
After all, his Uncle Emperor Zhuanxu, was in a similar situation to him, and then he was forced to leave the human race.
Therefore, after becoming Five Emperors, Di Ku had long been prepared for the day when the human race would be transferred away.
Di Ku had long planned that if he were ever transferred away from the human race, he would first visit Emperor Fuxi at the Fire Cloud Palace and his great-grandfather, Human Emperor Xuanyuan, then visit the Three Ancestors of the Human Race at Shouyang Mountain, and finally go to find his Uncle Emperor Zhuanxu.
In the blink of an eye, thirteen years had passed. Fangxun Shi was already thirteen years old, and Di Ku's time to leave had come.
When Di Ku left, he intended to designate himself Co-Lord of Humanity, just as his Uncle Emperor Zhuanxu had done, and to designate Fangxun Shi as the Co-Lord of Humanity.
However, Fangxun Shi was too young, only thirteen years old, and had no achievements. Even if he were to be appointed as the Co-Lord of Humanity, the leaders of the other tribes in the nine provinces of the human race would not be convinced.
Just as Di Ku was troubled, Xuan Du came to his door.
"Fellow Di Ku, you are about to depart. I humbly request that you do one thing for the Fangxun Shi before you leave."
Xuan Du felt that since Di Ku was about to leave, it wouldn't be unreasonable to help the Fangxun Shi, would it?
Moreover, Fangxun Shi was Di Ku's son!
"Fellow Xuan Du, although I know that with the assistance of your Human Religion, Fangxun Shi will become an excellent Co-Lord of Humanity."
But he is too young and has no achievements in the human race. If I forcefully establish him Co-Lord of Humanity, the various tribes of the nine provinces of the human race will surely be dissatisfied, and there may even be war."
Di Ku politely declined Xuan Du's offer. Although Fangxun Shi was his son, he would rather not pave the way for him than cause internal strife within the human race.
He believed that even without his paving the way, Fangxun Shi would eventually become the Co-Lord of Humanity, simply because Fangxun was his son.
"Fellow Daoist Di Ku, you have misunderstood!"
"I wish you to establish your eldest son, Zhi Co-Lord of Humanity."
Xuan Du realized that Di Ku had misunderstood, so he quickly tried to explain, but before he could finish, Di Ku interrupted him.
"It is absolutely impossible for me to appoint Zhi as the next Co-Lord of Humanity!"
Although Di Ku did not realize what Xuan Du was planning, he knew what kind of person his eldest son, Zhi, was.
Others may not know how capable Zhi is, but I, as his father, know it very well.
His eldest son, Zhi, was mediocre; even the fiefdom he himself had granted him was poorly managed.
If one cannot even manage a small fiefdom, how can one manage the entire human race and suppress the ambitious individuals among the various tribes of the Nine Provinces?
Di Ku dared to gamble that if he allowed his eldest son, Zhi, to become the Co-Lord of Humanity and manage the various tribes of the human race in the Nine Provinces, something terrible would surely happen.
At that time, Di Ku himself would be a sinner against the human race, how could he be qualified to meet his Uncle Emperor Zhuanxu?
Rather than letting his eldest son Zhi become the Co-Lord of Humanity, it would be better to let his second son Qi and third son Qi become the Co-Lord of Humanity, since his two sons are also quite outstanding.
Seeing that Di Ku was strongly opposed, Xuan Du then began to explain:
"Fellow Di Ku, you can have Fangxun Shi assist your eldest son Zhi. Even if Zhi's talent is mediocre, with me by your side, there won't be any major problems."
"Once Fangxun Shi of age, Zhi will abdicate the position of the Co-Lord of Humanity to Fangxun Shi."
This was Xuan Du's true intention. He had no real relationship with Di Ku's eldest son, Zhi, so how could he possibly be genuinely kind enough to help him obtain this position?
He only wanted the other party to take the position first, to serve as a negative example to highlight Fangxun Shi.
After understanding Xuan Du's meaning, Di Ku was furious and shouted angrily:
"Xuan Du Xuandu, are you trying to make my eldest son serve as a foil for the Fangxun Shi? Isn't that going too far?"
Although Di Ku felt that his eldest son Zhi was mediocre, he couldn't let Xuan Du do such a thing!
You must understand that his eldest son, Zhi, and his fourth son Fangxun Shi, were both equally dear to him.
Di Ku's stern questioning displeased Xuan Du, who reminded him:
"Fellow Daoist Di Ku, this is not the best method!"
Di Ku wanted to say something, but Xuan Du directly took out the Sage's Imperial Decree and said:
"Fellow Daoist Di Ku, I am not discussing this with you; this is an imperial Imperial Decree from my master, the Saint Taiqing!"
Xuan Du produced the imperial Imperial Decree, and despite his reluctance, Di Ku agreed.
However, Di Ku made Xuan Du promise him one thing: that Xuan Du must never harm his eldest son, Zhi.
Before Di Ku left, he allowed his eldest son, Zhi, to temporarily Co-Lord of Humanity for nine years. After nine years, the Co-Lord of Humanity.
The various tribes of the human race across the nine provinces expressed their support for this.
Before Di Ku left, he enfeoffed the thirteen-year-old Fangxun Shi in Tao to assist Zhi.
At the age of fifteen, Fangxun Shi rewarded by his elder brother Zhi for demonstrating outstanding talent in assisting him. He was granted the fief of Tang.
Zhi temporarily served Co-Lord of Humanity for nine years. His political achievements were mediocre, with neither major faults nor great merits, and he failed to effectively govern the various tribes of the nine provinces of the human race.
The rebellious spirit of the various tribes of the Eastern Yi and Western Rong began to emerge.
Through the virtues that Fangxun Shi displayed over the past nine years, as well as his ability to assist his elder brother Zhi in governing the Nine Provinces, he won the support of many human tribal chiefs. For a time, his prestige even surpassed that of Zhi, the acting Co-Lord of Humanity.
