"Found it..."
After probing through the dark clouds for a moment, the tender green willow branch suddenly paused. Liu Shen was not surprised by the result—she would have found it strange if there had been nothing.
"Buzz!"
As the willow branch withdrew, purple vapor coiled around its tender green leaves. The life force it emitted caused seeds buried in the soil to instantly sprout and break through the earth.
It was hard to imagine that within a tribulation of thunder brimming with destruction, there could actually be such a divine substance filled with such dense vitality.
"This is enough!"
"Rumble!"
Liu Shen murmured to herself. The willow branch gave off a soft, misty glow, shimmering with flowing colors. The purple vapor rapidly contracted as lightning flickered within it, finally turning into a fist-sized mass of liquid wreathed in hazy purple radiance.
After putting away the Tribulation Liquid, the willow branch wrapped around Shi Jue's waist, tore through space, and returned to Stone Village in an instant.
"Sacrificial Spirit Lord, is Little Jue all right?"
At the sight of Shi Jue's charred body, the Old Clan Chief and the villagers of Stone Village panicked.
"He is fine. He will wake after sleeping for a few days. Take him back."
Shi Jue was handed over to Shi Yunfeng. Shi Yunfeng received him with utmost care, and only completely relaxed after feeling that his heartbeat and breathing were normal.
After bidding Liu Shen farewell, they brought Shi Jue back to his house. Since Liu Shen had said he would wake up on his own, they would not presume to do anything unnecessary.
"He smells so good... I really want to take a bite."
The scent of roasted meat wafting from Shi Jue made Little Dot smack his lips. If he had not known this was a person, he would have already gone up and taken a bite.
"Thump!"
"You want to eat everything, Little Dot. Let's go outside." Shi Yunfeng lightly rapped Little Dot on the head.
"Okay!"
Little Dot covered his head with one hand, answered, and followed Shi Yunfeng out of the room.
"Hiss, where is this? Did I transmigrate back?" Shi Jue had been unconscious for three days and three nights, and his mind was still foggy.
A stone house. All right, he was still in Stone Village.
"Crack!"
Just as he tried to get out of bed, a crisp cracking sound came from his body. At the same time, chunks of black material peeled off his skin, revealing fair skin that glimmered faintly.
"So cold!"
He was naked from head to toe. When the wind blew over his little bird, a shiver ran through his whole body. His beast-hide clothes had long since been reduced to ash by the tribulation lightning.
Those black fragments had formed from impurities mixed with blood. Although Liu Shen had not blocked that bolt of lightning, she had erased most of its destructive killing intent, allowing it to serve the purpose of cleansing his marrow and remolding his body.
He hurriedly took out a set of beast-hide clothes and put them on. He had no tendency toward exhibitionism.
"Ah, my flowing long hair!" Shi Jue lamented as he touched his smooth, utterly bare, brilliantly bald head.
"Holy shit, Shi Jue, you're blinding me!"
The moment Shi Jue stepped outside, he ran into Little Dot, who was holding a milk jar. Little Dot immediately set it down and covered his eyes with both tiny hands.
It was too bright. His hairless scalp was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the glaring sunlight. Shi Jue now looked like a shining little sun, dazzlingly radiant.
Shi Jue: "..."
Rubbing his bald head, Shi Jue turned around and went back inside. After searching around for a while, he came back out wearing a straw hat. He was a man destined to become an Immortal King.
"That's much better. Shi Jue, why is all the hair on your head gone? You haven't eaten for three days. Want a sip of beast milk?" Little Dot reluctantly offered over the jar in his hands. This was his favorite.
"Drink it yourself. You're already this old and still haven't been weaned?" Shi Jue rolled his eyes and teased him.
Little Dot replied righteously, "Clan Chief Grandpa said I'm still little. If I want to drink it, I can go get some."
"I'm going to see Liu Shen first. You drink it yourself!"
Shi Jue smiled and headed toward the village entrance. Little Dot muttered that he had no taste, then hugged the beast milk and gulped it down.
"Liu Shen? You..."
When he saw the willow tree again, the charred marks on it had already faded considerably. Moreover, its willow branches had increased from one to four—three more than before. Like four Order Divine Chains, they seemed capable of linking heaven and earth. The faint glow they released covered all of Stone Village, making it resemble a pure land.
"Thanks to you, I gained quite a lot this time. Tribulation Liquid filled with vitality is the best restorative tonic for me." Liu Shen smiled softly.
If she had recovered bit by bit, it would have taken at least several years to reach this state.
"Liu Shen, how strong are you now?" Shi Jue was genuinely happy for Liu Shen, though his eyes darted around as if he were plotting something.
"Don't even think about it. The path of cultivation is not smooth sailing. If you rely on external aid for everything, you are destined not to go far." Liu Shen knew of Shi Jue's restraint, so the moment she saw his shifting expression, she knew what nonsense he was about to say.
"This is Tribulation Liquid. It is enough to let you reach the ultimate limit of the Blood Moving Realm."
A fist-sized mass of purple liquid floated above one of Liu Shen's willow branches. Its colors were dreamlike and illusory, with purple radiance flowing through it.
Shi Jue's gaze burned with desire. He could sense that the droplet of purple liquid contained an immensely powerful and abundant life force—truly astonishing.
He remembered that in the original plot, Mu Yan had nearly died after obtaining just a single drop of Tribulation Liquid. With a casual move from Liu Shen, she had produced a whole fist-sized mass.
"Liu Shen, this should be useful for Little Dot too, right?" Shi Jue asked. As playmates who had grown up together, he and Shi Hao had a close relationship. He was not asking this to curry favor with him.
"It is useful, but it is not necessary. He has his own path to walk." Liu Shen smiled gently, pleased that Shi Jue was not the cold and ungrateful sort.
"Alright, then should I just swallow this directly?"
Hearing that, Shi Jue did not ask anything further. However, tiny bolts of lightning still flickered across the Divine Liquid Cluster. If he swallowed it, his internal organs would probably feel numb and tingly.
"It is not impossible to swallow it, but I do not recommend it. With your current strength, you cannot seal all of the Tribulation Liquid's divine energy. If you consume it this way, you may only absorb ten percent in the end, while the remaining ninety percent will dissipate from your body. That would be far too wasteful."
"Then how should I use it?" Shi Jue blinked. Could it be inhaled through his nostrils?
"I will first seal the Tribulation Liquid inside your body!"
A glistening green willow branch dragged the purple Tribulation Liquid over and pressed it straight into Shi Jue's abdomen.
Buzz!
In an instant, purple light began to shine from Shi Jue's belly. The numb, tingling sensation was negligible; instead, he felt a pleasant warmth there, like winter sunlight shining upon him. At the same time, streams of heat flowed through his veins, meridians, and flesh, reaching every corner of his body. That blissful comfort made it impossible to stop. He could clearly feel the Tribulation Liquid nourishing his body.
