Background / History
Liu Shen was once an extraordinarily powerful Immortal King-level existence whose record included entering and leaving the Other Domain nine times. While gravely wounded, she was ambushed by Ao Sheng and his allies, forcing her to flee to the Lower Realm and undergo a new Nirvana. She ultimately became the Sacrificial Spirit of Stone Village. 102
During her recovery, she guarded Stone Village in the form of a scorched willow tree. Tribulation Liquid gained through Shi Jue’s heavenly tribulation restored her significantly, increasing her branches from one to four and allowing her aura to cover the village like a Pure Land. 7
As her strength returned, Liu Shen became Shi Jue and Shi Hao’s most important guardian and guide. She opened paths into the Void God Realm, supervised Shi Jue’s body cultivation, revealed the Mountain Treasure, and entrusted the brothers with the Six Paths Reincarnation Heavenly Art and the Grass Character Sword Art while warning them not to expose such techniques carelessly. 8 44
She later reconnected with the Lord of the Forbidden Zone, an old friend who had believed her fallen. Their reunion confirmed the identity of those responsible for her near-death and restored Nirvana. 90 102
After reaching the Upper Realm, Liu Shen increasingly chose not to resolve every danger for Shi Jue. She remained willing to protect him against overwhelmingly stronger foes, but deliberately withdrew from his day-to-day travels so that he could develop independently. 151 208
Appearance
Liu Shen can manifest as a towering, radiant willow tree or as a tall woman in flowing white robes. Her presence is sacred and remote, often obscuring her face behind haze or a mask.

- Her branches can resemble chains of order connecting heaven and earth. 7
- In humanoid form, she is described as graceful, tall, and ethereal, with a sacred aura that makes her seem removed from the mundane world. 87
- She commonly conceals her true face; even Shi Jue often perceives it only as a blur. 87 148
- When acting openly in the Upper Realm, she wears an exquisite mask and white robes. 161
Personality
Liu Shen is composed, discerning, and exceptionally patient. She treats cultivation with seriousness, gives practical warnings, and refuses to indulge Shi Jue’s recklessness when it would undermine his growth. 8 151
Despite her ancient status and immense strength, she retains affection for Stone Village and its people. She quietly protects the village, joins a communal meal when invited, and leaves behind a willow-tree incarnation capable of using Heavenly God-level power when she departs for the Upper Realm. 87 148
Her relationship with Shi Jue reveals a more teasing and indulgent side. She often reprimands him with measured willow-branch strikes, yet repeatedly answers his calls for aid and trusts in his potential to eventually surpass her. 59 86 161 208
