Background / History

Before cultivation, Ye Fan was a modern Earth graduate searching for work. He drove a Mercedes-Benz and initially considered his world entirely ordinary, though Shi Jue informed him that he would begin a great journey in roughly two years. Rather than demand knowledge of his future, Ye Fan chose to preserve its uncertainty and prepared to look after his parents before leaving Earth. 4

His journey began when the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin drew him and his former classmates aboard on Mount Tai. After arriving at the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, he discovered its life-draining danger and later regained his youth by eating a Saint Fruit. 12 13 16

Shi Jue identified Ye Fan as possessing the Desolate Ancient Saint Body, a once-powerful physique now constrained by the laws of heaven and earth. Ye Fan nevertheless resolved to continue cultivating and received the Movement Secret Technique through the Empress. 16

He can remain calm under pressure, but he is also easily exasperated by Duan De, Black Emperor, and Shi Jue's teasing—particularly when they discuss arranging Dao companions or exploiting his Saint Body to produce an Innate Saint Body Dao Embryo. 20 61 95

Despite his occasional opportunism and willingness to take hostages or participate in robberies, Ye Fan is protective of those under his care.
